Vauxhall Frontera windscreen price, by year

Price variation across Frontera variants is primarily driven by generation and sun-strip specification. Models with the blue sun strip require a matching replacement glass, which differs from the standard variant. Earlier non-sun-strip models are typically the most affordable to replace, while later examples with added features command a slightly higher cost due to the specialist glass required.

Year Price range Quote

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Frontera?

Most Vauxhall Frontera windscreen replacements are fitted mobile at your address, as the Frontera pre-dates the ADAS camera era and requires no calibration after replacement. This makes the job straightforward and convenient — typically completed within a couple of hours at home or work.

If you'd prefer a workshop appointment, or if weather or access issues make a mobile visit unsuitable, your local approved fitter can arrange a workshop slot instead.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

About the Vauxhall Frontera

The Vauxhall Frontera was produced from 1991 to 2004, spanning two generations of rugged SUV design. Early models featured straightforward laminated windscreens with a characteristic green tint, standard across the range.

Later variants introduced the blue sun strip — a gradient band across the top that reduces glare without affecting visibility — though this was fitted to only some trims and years. Most Fronteras also carried a VIN notch along the bottom of the windscreen for chassis identification.

Being a vehicle of the pre-ADAS era, Frontera windscreens do not require camera calibration after replacement, making the job straightforward and mobile-friendly for most owners.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

No. The Vauxhall Frontera (1991–2004) pre-dates the introduction of front-camera ADAS systems, so there is no calibration required after your windscreen is fitted. This makes the job quicker and keeps costs down.

The Frontera's windscreen is a straightforward laminated unit without ADAS brackets or sensors. Its main variations are the green tint (universal) and the optional blue sun strip on some models. The lack of camera hardware means fitting is simpler and mobile appointments are almost always available.

Yes. Our quote process identifies whether your Frontera carries the blue sun strip, and we source a matching replacement. If you have the sun strip, your new windscreen will too — ensuring your original factory appearance is preserved.

In most cases, yes. Mobile fitting at your address is the default for Frontera replacements. The fitter typically completes the job in 45–90 minutes, and since there's no ADAS calibration involved, you can often drive away shortly after they finish. Bad weather or access constraints might make a workshop visit more suitable — your fitter will discuss the best option when you're booked.
