Vauxhall Meriva windscreen price, by year

Prices vary primarily by generation and the presence of premium glass features. Earlier models without encapsulation or solar control are the most affordable, whilst later Merivas with fully encapsulated trim and tinted coatings carry higher replacement costs. The complexity of the encapsulation fit—whether the technician needs to transfer hardware or can fit the glass as a complete unit—also influences pricing.

Vauxhall Meriva

10/10 service

the service i received right from my first phone call on the 29/9/23 was outstanding they explained all that i needed to know and the price of the replacement window which was a lot cheaper than the of other quotes that i was given by other suppliers. Also, they came the very next morning to fit the new window. Paul Lombard the fitter did an excellent job and I can't praise him enough. He hoovered everywhere including the pavement which I was very impressed about.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Vauxhall Meriva windscreen replacement

From your instant quote to driving away, the process is straightforward and typically completes within a couple of hours.

  1. 1

Get an instant quote through our online widget by answering a few quick questions about your Meriva's generation and features—takes about a minute.

  2. 2

Our parts check team verifies your exact glass specification (tint, trim style, encapsulation, hardware) against our supplier inventory.

  3. 3

We match you with an approved technician local to you, confirming a convenient mobile visit or workshop slot.

  4. 4

Your fitter removes the old windscreen, prepares the frame, and bonds the new glass using the appropriate adhesive for your model.

  5. 5

For encapsulated Merivas, the trim arrives factory-bonded, so the technician fits the complete panel in one go.

  6. 6

Your fitter confirms the minimum drive-away time (typically determined by ambient conditions and adhesive type) before you leave.

All work comes with a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Meriva?

The Vauxhall Meriva is straightforward for mobile replacement—the Meriva never received factory-installed front-camera ADAS, so no calibration is required after the windscreen is fitted. Your technician can attend your home, workplace, or roadside to carry out the replacement in one visit.

You can always choose a workshop appointment if you prefer, and mobile fitting may be unavailable in very remote areas or adverse weather conditions. Simply confirm your preference when booking.

  • Blue Sun Strip1
    2003–2010

On the Vauxhall Meriva: fitted on 1 of the 6 windscreen variants we list (17%); model years 2003–2010.

A blue-tinted gradient band across the top of your windscreen that reduces glare without affecting your view of the road.

    What it means

A blue sun strip is a tinted gradient band built into the upper edge of your windscreen's laminate layer. It reduces glare from sunlight reflecting off the road and bonnet without darkening your main field of vision. The tint is created during manufacture as part of the glass laminate itself — it cannot be added or removed later. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature; rear and side windows cannot carry this effect because they use tempered rather than laminated glass.

    How to tell

Look at the top of your windscreen from inside the car — you'll see a distinct blue-tinted band running horizontally across the upper portion. Check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your windscreen is listed as a 'blue sun strip' or 'tinted sun strip' variant. Your invoice or parts manual will confirm it.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen with a blue sun strip, the replacement must be the sun-strip variant — a standard plain windscreen will not replicate the tinted band. Your replacement glass is sourced as an exact match to your original specification. There are no additional calibration or cure implications beyond a standard windscreen replacement. Fitting and drive-away times remain unchanged.

  • Clear1
    2003–2010Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Vauxhall Meriva: fitted on 1 of the 6 windscreen variants we list (17%); model years 2003–2010; calibration varies by vehicle.

Clear windscreen glass has no tint; most cars have a slight tint as standard.

    What it means

A clear windscreen contains no added tint layer. Most modern windscreens incorporate a subtle tint (typically blue, green, grey or bronze) as standard to reduce glare, provide UV protection, and improve cabin comfort. A genuinely clear windscreen is the absence of this tint. Clear glass is less common than tinted variants and is sometimes specified for aesthetic or operational reasons, though the tint difference is usually imperceptible to the naked eye.

    How to tell

Lower your side window halfway and hold a white piece of paper behind it. If you see a noticeable colour cast (blue, green, grey or bronze) in the side glass, your windscreen has the same tint. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre to confirm the windscreen specification in your service records.

    Replacement impact

Clear windscreen replacement uses the same installation process as any other windscreen. No special calibration or extended cure time applies. Sourcing is straightforward — clear glass is widely available as an aftermarket replacement. Installation time and drive-away restrictions follow standard windscreen replacement timings. If your vehicle has ADAS features (forward-facing camera or radar), calibration may be required after replacement depending on your specific vehicle; we confirm this when we look up your car details.

Calibration mix across our Vauxhall variants

    • 1None

We confirm the exact procedure for your specific vehicle when you book.

  • Coating1
    2003–2010

On the Vauxhall Meriva: fitted on 1 of the 6 windscreen variants we list (17%); model years 2003–2010.

    What it means

A UV-protective or heat-reducing coating applied to the glass, giving it a subtle blue or purple tint that reflects sunlight.

    On your Vauxhall Meriva

Found on higher-specification models; the coating type is confirmed during your parts check.

About the Vauxhall Meriva

The Vauxhall Meriva is a compact MPV produced from 2003 to 2017, spanning two generations of family-oriented design. Early models carry straightforward laminated windscreens with basic trim, while later variants from the mid-2000s onwards introduce encapsulation—a pre-fitted rubber gasket that bonds the trim directly to the glass at the factory, so replacements arrive as a complete panel-plus-trim unit.

Glass tinting evolved across the range: green-tinted windscreens dominate the line-up (appearing on 62% of active variants), while solar-control coatings became available on higher trims to reduce cabin heat. A minority of variants feature rain sensors for automatic wiper activation. The Meriva never received factory-fitted front-camera ADAS systems, so windscreen replacement is straightforward mechanical work with no calibration requirement.

Some Vauxhall Meriva windscreens have a rain sensor. Read what a rain sensor does.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

Most Merivas feature a green-tinted windscreen—a subtle tint you may not notice but which is part of the factory specification. Later models often include encapsulation (a pre-fitted trim gasket), which means your replacement glass arrives ready to fit as a complete unit. Some variants also have rain sensors for automatic wipers or solar-control coatings to keep the cabin cooler in summer.

No. The Vauxhall Meriva was never equipped with front-facing camera systems from the factory, so there is no ADAS calibration required after replacement. Your technician fits the windscreen and confirms the drive-away time—typically the same on the day.

Encapsulated windscreens arrive with the rubber trim gasket already bonded to the glass, so your fitter fits the complete panel in one go rather than transferring trim from the old glass. This can simplify the job and reduce labour time compared to non-encapsulated variants. Pricing reflects the glass specification; exact costs are shown in your personalised quote.

Yes. We replace windscreens on Merivas from 2003 onwards, including first-generation models. Availability depends on whether glass is in stock (most common variants are), and whether we can match a technician in your area—both factors are confirmed during your quote.
