If you use our mobile service, we’ll arrive at the address you give us between 8 am and 5 pm. You’ll receive a call 30 minutes before we arrive. Our technicians typically need just an hour (or less) to complete the car glass replacement. Please note that the car must be left stationary for at least 30 minutes after the glass replacement. If you bring the car to a UK Car Glass centre, we should manage to complete the glass replacement that same day. We’ll call you to come and collect the car when it’s ready – at 5 pm latest, but probably before that.

All of our glass comes from the same manufacturers who supply glass to the car factories. Therefore, our glass replacements meet all the original equipment (OE) requirements. The only difference to the glass we use is that it doesn’t bear the stamp of the car brand. So with us you get the same high-quality glass that you would at an authorised car repair shop.

As with windscreens, we come to your location to replace your side window or rear windscreen. That’s right, our mobile service applies to all car glass!

The most common reason for a spreading crack is a change in temperature. If you have any damage to your windscreen, it’s important to get it repaired as soon as possible. Cracks also spread in relation to their position and any jarring or bumping of the car along rough roads. Any pressure on the inside of the windscreen, especially near the damage, will also cause it to spread. Finally, a crack that is contaminated (for instance, one filled with liquid) is also likely to spread. Place a sticker or tape over the damage to keep it dry and clean until you can get it repaired or replaced.

A windscreen cannot have a chip larger than 1 cm in the driver’s line of sight to pass the MOT. A chip or crack larger than 4 cm anywhere on the windscreen will almost certainly result in a failed MOT.

When it’s raining or there’s strong wind, we need some cover in order to complete a car glass replacement. If you become ill or need to change your appointment for any other reason, please let us know in good time so that we can reschedule the car glass replacement for you.

Did you know that 90% of all windscreens have a green colour tone? If your front windscreen has a colour tone, then so do your side windows. The fastest way to check for colour tone is to hold a white piece of paper against a side window. The paper will take a slight green or blue hue if the window has a colour tone.

The quality of our windscreens is set by our supplier. Our supplier manufactures and buys windscreens made by original equipment manufacturers (OEM) but that are used on the aftermarket. What this means is that the windscreens we use are often the same quality as OEM windscreens, they just don’t have the car brand’s logo printed on them.

You’re welcome to bring your car into a UK Car Glass centre, but why not make use of our mobile service at no extra cost? We can come to your home, your office, the beach or the tennis court parking lot – whenever suits you! Just loan us the car key and you keep doing life while we replace your glass for you.

Can I see if my car has a color tone? Yes and 90% of all windscreens have a green color tone. If your front windscreen has a colortone then your side windows has as well. Please do the following: 1. Roll down the side window halfway 2. Place a half-page of white paper behind the side window 3. Look for a color tone through the side window where the paper is If you notice the paper is green or blue then you have the same tone in your front and rear windscreen

Yes! A windscreen is crucial to the driver's visibility, so the MOT takes the state of your windscreen into consideration. Scratches and other damage to the windscreen can result in a failed MOT. It's important to have any windscreen cracks or chips repaired before your MOT assessment.
