Vauxhall Agila windscreen price, by year

Prices vary across the Agila's 15-year production span, driven mainly by the presence of solar-control tinting and green sun strips on later variants. Models with solar-absorbing coatings carry slightly higher replacement costs due to the specialised glass specification. Earlier models without these refinements are generally the most affordable to replace.

Year Price range Quote

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Vauxhall Agila windscreen replacement

Booking your Agila's windscreen replacement is straightforward — here's how the process flows.

  1. 1

Complete an instant online quote by answering a few quick questions about your Agila's year and features — takes about a minute.

  2. 2

Our parts team verify your glass specification during the final booking confirmation, ensuring the replacement matches your factory windscreen exactly.

  3. 3

You're matched with an approved technician in your area who specialises in Vauxhall glass replacement.

  4. 4

Your fitter attends on your chosen date — typically at your home or workplace — and completes the replacement in under 90 minutes.

  5. 5

Your fitter confirms the minimum drive-away time before they leave, and the replacement is covered by a two-year warranty against workmanship and manufacturing defects.

From quote to booking takes just minutes; the whole process is designed to get you back on the road with peace of mind.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Agila?

Most Agila windscreen replacements happen at your home or workplace — that's the standard mobile service. Because the Agila predates modern driver-assistance systems, there's no camera calibration required after the glass is fitted, so workshop attendance isn't necessary for this model.

  • Green2
    2000–2014

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Clear1
    2000–2008Calibration varies by vehicle

Clear windscreen glass has no tint; most cars have a slight tint as standard.

    What it means

A clear windscreen contains no added tint layer. Most modern windscreens incorporate a subtle tint (typically blue, green, grey or bronze) as standard to reduce glare, provide UV protection, and improve cabin comfort. A genuinely clear windscreen is the absence of this tint. Clear glass is less common than tinted variants and is sometimes specified for aesthetic or operational reasons, though the tint difference is usually imperceptible to the naked eye.

    How to tell

Lower your side window halfway and hold a white piece of paper behind it. If you see a noticeable colour cast (blue, green, grey or bronze) in the side glass, your windscreen has the same tint. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre to confirm the windscreen specification in your service records.

    Replacement impact

Clear windscreen replacement uses the same installation process as any other windscreen. No special calibration or extended cure time applies. Sourcing is straightforward — clear glass is widely available as an aftermarket replacement. Installation time and drive-away restrictions follow standard windscreen replacement timings. If your vehicle has ADAS features (forward-facing camera or radar), calibration may be required after replacement depending on your specific vehicle; we confirm this when we look up your car details.

  • Solar Control1
    2000–2008

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

About the Vauxhall Agila

The Vauxhall Agila is a compact city car that ran from 2000 to 2014, designed for urban driving and easy manoeuvrability. Throughout its production run, the Agila's windscreen design remained straightforward, with most variants carrying a subtle green tint that's harder to spot than you might expect.

Three-quarters of Agila models in our catalogue feature green-tinted glass, while a smaller proportion are fitted with solar-control windscreens that help reduce the sun's heat inside the cabin. Some models also carry a green sun strip — a tinted gradient band at the top of the windscreen that cuts glare from above. Because the Agila predates modern driver-assistance systems, replacement is typically simpler than on newer vehicles, with no camera calibration required.
