Mitsubishi Outlander windscreen price, by year

Prices vary significantly across the 28 variants in our catalogue, driven mainly by generation and ADAS equipment. Early-2000s models without cameras or rain sensors are typically the most affordable.

Later variants (2017+) with MI-PILOT Assist cameras require recalibration after fitting, which adds complexity and cost. Acoustic glass, heated windscreens, and heated wiper rest areas on premium trims increase glass cost further. The fitter's technician time also increases with ADAS-equipped models due to calibration work.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Mitsubishi Outlander windscreen replacement

Booking your Outlander windscreen replacement through UK Car Glass takes just a couple of minutes, then a specialist technician handles the rest.

  1. 1

Start with our quick online quote — the guided quiz identifies your exact Outlander variant, taking under 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Once you've confirmed the quote and booked, our team runs a parts check to verify the correct windscreen glass (including any camera brackets, rain sensors, or acoustic features) matches your specification.

  3. 3

You'll be matched with an approved fitter in your area — we provide you with their details, their Trustpilot reviews, and a confirmed date.

  4. 4

On fitting day, the fitter replaces your windscreen at your home or a workshop location (depending on whether your model requires ADAS camera recalibration). If recalibration is needed, the fitter performs it on the same visit — typically taking longer than a non-ADAS fit, but your drive-away time is confirmed before they leave.

  5. 5

Your replacement carries a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality. Register your booking for peace of mind.

From first quote to fitted windscreen, most Outlander owners complete the whole process within a couple of weeks.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Outlander?

Most Outlander windscreen replacements can be done at your home or a location of your choice. However, if your model (2017+) carries the MI-PILOT Assist camera system, recalibration is required after fitting.

When calibration is needed, the entire job — replacement and recalibration together — is scheduled at a workshop. This ensures the camera is recalibrated in a controlled environment and you receive the full safety benefit. We never split the job across two locations, as this can lead to calibration being overlooked.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your Outlander have?

Tap a feature to see what it is, how to spot it on your car, and how it affects glass replacement. We confirm the exact match for your vehicle when you book.

  • Green11
    2003–2026

On the Mitsubishi Outlander: fitted on every one of the 11 windscreen variants we list; model years 2003–2026.

    What it means

A subtle green tint standard on virtually all modern windscreens — barely noticeable but present on all 28 Outlander variants in our catalogue.

    On your Mitsubishi Outlander

Confirmed during the quote process; the tint is faint and difficult to spot with the naked eye.

  • Rain Sensor8
    2007–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Mitsubishi Outlander: fitted on 8 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (73%); model years 2007–2026; no calibration after replacement.

    What it means

An automatic wiper trigger that detects rain and activates wipers without manual input — found on 22 of 28 Outlander variants.

    On your Mitsubishi Outlander

Common on mid-range and premium trims from around 2010 onwards; confirmed in your variant specification during the quote.

  • Vin Notch8
    2012–2026

On the Mitsubishi Outlander: fitted on 8 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (73%); model years 2012–2026.

A printed VIN reference box along the bottom edge of your windscreen helps identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

    What it means

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) notch is a small printed or etched box positioned along the lower edge of the windscreen that displays your vehicle's chassis number. This reference marking is a manufacturing and administrative feature, allowing quick visual identification of the vehicle without needing to consult documents. It's particularly useful for service records, insurance claims, and vehicle registration purposes. The notch itself doesn't affect the structural integrity or safety performance of the glass.

    How to tell

Look along the bottom edge of your windscreen — typically in one of the lower corners — for a small rectangular box containing printed digits or characters. If you're uncertain, check your vehicle's service handbook or ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your model includes this feature.

    Replacement impact

When your windscreen is replaced, the new glass will retain the VIN notch printed or etched by the manufacturer. This is a standard feature on replacement windscreens for compatible vehicles and requires no additional work or adjustment. The notch does not affect glass fitting, cure time, or any post-replacement calibration procedures.

  • Light Sensor7
    2012–2026

On the Mitsubishi Outlander: fitted on 7 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (64%); model years 2012–2026.

Light sensors automatically turn your headlights on at dusk or in tunnels; the replacement windscreen must include the sensor bracket.

    What it means

A light sensor is a small optical detector mounted on the windscreen or dashboard that monitors ambient light levels. When light drops below a threshold—at dusk or when entering a tunnel—it triggers your headlights to switch on automatically. This removes the need to manually operate the lights and improves safety by ensuring visibility when conditions darken suddenly. The sensor is typically mounted behind the windscreen's top edge or integrated into the interior mirror housing, where it has an unobstructed view of the sky.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or ask your dealer whether your car has automatic headlight control or 'auto lights' as a feature. If equipped, you'll see a symbol on the stalk or dashboard dial marked with a light-bulb icon or 'AUTO' setting. When you select this mode and the ambient light dims, the headlights activate without manual input. Not all cars have this feature; it's typically found on newer or higher-specification models.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen on a vehicle with a light sensor, the replacement glass must include the correct sensor bracket or mounting point to preserve the auto-headlight function. The sensor itself does not require software calibration—it relies on physical positioning behind the windscreen's upper trim or within the mirror assembly. Ensuring the bracket is correctly installed during the fit is essential; if omitted, the auto-light feature will fail and cannot be restored without additional parts and labour.

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)6
    2013–2026

On the Mitsubishi Outlander: fitted on 6 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (55%); model years 2013–2026.

    What it means

A laminated glass layer with noise-dampening properties, reducing road and wind noise in the cabin — found on 16 of 28 Outlander variants, particularly higher trims.

    On your Mitsubishi Outlander

Typically marked on the glass or listed in premium trim specifications; confirmed during the parts-check phase of your booking.

  • Camera3
    2013–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Mitsubishi Outlander: fitted on 3 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (27%); model years 2013–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A forward-facing windscreen-mounted camera that supports ADAS safety features like Forward Collision Mitigation and Lane Keep Assist — standard on Outlander models from 2017 onwards with MI-PILOT Assist.

    On your Mitsubishi Outlander

Present on 12 of 28 variants, typically 2017-model-year onwards; confirmed during the quote and noted on your job sheet if recalibration is required.

  • Solar Control3
    2013–2026

On the Mitsubishi Outlander: fitted on 3 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (27%); model years 2013–2026.

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

  • Heated Windscreen2
    2013–2019

On the Mitsubishi Outlander: fitted on 2 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (18%); model years 2013–2019.

    What it means

A mesh of thin heating wires integrated into the glass, allowing rapid demisting and defrosting in winter — present on 12 of 28 Outlander variants, mainly higher trims and newer models.

    On your Mitsubishi Outlander

Standard on select premium trims from mid-2000s onwards; confirmed in your variant details during the quote.

  • Bracket For Safety Features1
    2013–2017Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Mitsubishi Outlander: fitted on 1 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (9%); model years 2013–2017; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A moulded trim surround (typically transferred from your old glass) that covers the camera and sensor cluster at the top of the windscreen, near the rear-view mirror.

    On your Mitsubishi Outlander

Found on 10 of 28 variants; standard on camera-equipped Outlanders (2017+). The fitter transfers it from your old windscreen to the new one, or it comes integrated with newer variant specifications.

  • Mono Camera1
    2013–2017Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Mitsubishi Outlander: fitted on 1 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (9%); model years 2013–2017; calibration varies by vehicle.

A single camera mounted near the rear-view mirror that helps with lane-keeping and collision avoidance.

    What it means

A mono camera is a single-lens camera positioned behind the windscreen, typically in the upper centre area near the rear-view mirror. It captures the road ahead and uses computer vision to detect lane markings, vehicles, and road hazards. The camera feeds data to driver-assistance systems such as lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning. It forms the visual foundation of these safety features, allowing the vehicle to monitor road position and surrounding traffic automatically.

    How to tell

Look in the black trim area above the windscreen, centred behind the rear-view mirror — you will see a small triangular lens assembly or dark lens cover. Check your vehicle handbook or ask your dealer's service department to confirm your model has lane-assistance or collision-warning features; vehicles with these systems almost always have a mono camera. Dashboard warning symbols related to lane or collision systems also indicate the presence of this camera.

    Replacement impact

When the windscreen is replaced, the camera bracket and lens assembly must be removed and carefully repositioned on the new glass. The camera may require calibration after fitting to ensure accurate road detection and lane recognition. Calibration needs vary by vehicle — we confirm the exact procedure when we look up your specific vehicle. The job may take longer than a standard windscreen replacement, and workshop facilities may be required if calibration demands a controlled environment.

About the Mitsubishi Outlander

The Mitsubishi Outlander has been in continuous production since 2003, evolving through four generations with significant updates to its windscreen glass specification. Earlier generations (2003–2012) carried straightforward laminated windscreens, while mid-generation models introduced rain sensors and acoustic interlayers on higher trims.

From 2017 onwards, the Outlander received a windscreen-mounted forward-facing camera as part of the MI-PILOT Assist suite, introducing ADAS features including Forward Collision Mitigation and Lane Keep Assist. This camera era brought camera brackets, safety-feature mouldings, and the requirement for recalibration after windscreen replacement.

Acoustic glass, heated windscreens, and heated wiper rest areas appear selectively across trims and model years, making variant identification important for accurate pricing and fitting timescale.
