The Mitsubishi Outlander has been in continuous production since 2003, evolving through four generations with significant updates to its windscreen glass specification. Earlier generations (2003–2012) carried straightforward laminated windscreens, while mid-generation models introduced rain sensors and acoustic interlayers on higher trims.
From 2017 onwards, the Outlander received a windscreen-mounted forward-facing camera as part of the MI-PILOT Assist suite, introducing ADAS features including Forward Collision Mitigation and Lane Keep Assist. This camera era brought camera brackets, safety-feature mouldings, and the requirement for recalibration after windscreen replacement.
Acoustic glass, heated windscreens, and heated wiper rest areas appear selectively across trims and model years, making variant identification important for accurate pricing and fitting timescale.
