Hyundai i30 windscreen price, by year

Prices vary with generation and equipment level — earlier models without SmartSense are typically more affordable, while later variants with camera systems and solar-control glass carry higher calibration costs. Heated windscreens and rain sensors appear on selective trims and add to the overall complexity.

Good value and service

The service was good apart from having to call late in the day when the appointment was due as I had not received a notification call. The fitter was polite and smart, handed the key over and 40 minutes later the new windscreen was in place. Looks as good as new and would use again.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Hyundai i30 windscreen replacement

Booking your Hyundai i30 windscreen replacement takes just minutes through our online quote tool.

  1. 1

Answer a brief quiz about your i30's year, trim, and features — our system identifies your exact glass variant in under 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote and choose your fitting date: mobile at home, or workshop if calibration is required.

  3. 3

Our parts team confirms your glass specification before the technician arrives — ensuring the right fit first time.

  4. 4

On fitting day, the technician replaces the glass and completes any SmartSense camera calibration if your model requires it.

  5. 5

Your fitter confirms the minimum drive-away time before leaving — calibration runs in parallel with adhesive cure, so it doesn't extend when you can drive.

Your replacement is covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your i30?

Most i30 windscreen replacements can be fitted mobile at your home or workplace. However, if your model carries Hyundai's SmartSense camera system, the entire job — replacement and calibration — is scheduled at a workshop to ensure the camera is correctly aligned using Hyundai diagnostic equipment.

Our system confirms during your quote whether your i30 requires workshop calibration. If it does, the technician will complete both the glass replacement and static calibration in a single visit, so there's no need to return elsewhere.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

    2012–2026

On the Hyundai i30: fitted on 4 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (36%); model years 2012–2026.

A defogging detector automatically clears condensation from your windscreen, improving visibility in damp conditions.

    What it means

A defogging detector is a sensor that monitors moisture levels on the windscreen and triggers the demister system automatically when condensation builds up. It improves driver visibility and safety in damp or cold weather by preventing manual intervention. The sensor typically sits near the rear-view mirror, positioned to sense moisture accumulation on the glass surface.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or ask your dealer's service centre whether your model includes an automatic defogging or moisture-sensing demister. Look near the rear-view mirror for a small sensor unit. Some vehicles display an indicator light or message on the dashboard when the system is active.

    Replacement impact

The defogging detector does not affect windscreen replacement or require recalibration after fitting. The sensor itself remains in place and continues to function once the new windscreen is installed. No additional calibration, cure time, or specialist procedures are needed.

  • Bracket For Safety Features3

    What it means

Automatic wiper activation when rain is detected on the windscreen — the system adjusts wiper speed based on rainfall intensity.

    On your Hyundai i30

Available on select trims and model years; confirmed during your quote process.

  • Blue Sun Strip2
    2012–2026

On the Hyundai i30: fitted on 2 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (18%); model years 2012–2026.

A blue-tinted gradient band across the top of your windscreen that reduces glare without affecting your view of the road.

    What it means

A blue sun strip is a tinted gradient band built into the upper edge of your windscreen's laminate layer. It reduces glare from sunlight reflecting off the road and bonnet without darkening your main field of vision. The tint is created during manufacture as part of the glass laminate itself — it cannot be added or removed later. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature; rear and side windows cannot carry this effect because they use tempered rather than laminated glass.

    How to tell

Look at the top of your windscreen from inside the car — you'll see a distinct blue-tinted band running horizontally across the upper portion. Check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your windscreen is listed as a 'blue sun strip' or 'tinted sun strip' variant. Your invoice or parts manual will confirm it.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen with a blue sun strip, the replacement must be the sun-strip variant — a standard plain windscreen will not replicate the tinted band. Your replacement glass is sourced as an exact match to your original specification. There are no additional calibration or cure implications beyond a standard windscreen replacement. Fitting and drive-away times remain unchanged.

  • Heated Windscreen2
    2007–2017

On the Hyundai i30: fitted on 2 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (18%); model years 2007–2017.

    What it means

An integrated mesh of thin wires heats the windscreen to clear ice and condensation quickly in winter conditions.

    On your Hyundai i30

Optional on select higher-specification trims — typically part of a premium or winter comfort package.

  • Static Camera Calibration Process2
    2017–2026Static calibration required

On the Hyundai i30: fitted on 2 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (18%); model years 2017–2026; static calibration required.

Static calibration uses printed targets indoors to align your forward-facing camera after windscreen replacement.

    What it means

Static camera calibration is a procedure in which a forward-facing camera system is realigned using printed target boards positioned at manufacturer-specified distances and heights in front of the vehicle. The vehicle remains stationary indoors throughout. A diagnostic tool reads the camera's view of these targets and adjusts the camera's alignment to factory specification. This ensures the camera can accurately detect road features, lane markings, pedestrians, and other objects — critical for driver-assistance systems like lane-keeping, collision warning, and adaptive cruise control to function safely and reliably.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or ask your dealer's service centre whether your car has a forward-facing camera system that requires calibration after windscreen replacement. Look for driver-assistance features like lane-keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking, or adaptive cruise control on the dashboard menu.

    Replacement impact

When a windscreen with an integrated or bracket-mounted camera is replaced, the camera's alignment can shift. Static calibration realigns the camera using indoor target boards, which must be performed in a workshop environment where printed targets can be positioned and secured at precise distances. This procedure is conducted after the windscreen is fitted and bonded. The workshop booking accommodates the additional time required for calibration, and we apply the no-split policy — both replacement and calibration happen at the same location on the same visit.

  • Mono Camera1
    2019–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Hyundai i30: fitted on 1 of the 11 windscreen variants we list (9%); model years 2019–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

A single camera mounted near the rear-view mirror that helps with lane-keeping and collision avoidance.

    What it means

A mono camera is a single-lens camera positioned behind the windscreen, typically in the upper centre area near the rear-view mirror. It captures the road ahead and uses computer vision to detect lane markings, vehicles, and road hazards. The camera feeds data to driver-assistance systems such as lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning. It forms the visual foundation of these safety features, allowing the vehicle to monitor road position and surrounding traffic automatically.

    How to tell

Look in the black trim area above the windscreen, centred behind the rear-view mirror — you will see a small triangular lens assembly or dark lens cover. Check your vehicle handbook or ask your dealer's service department to confirm your model has lane-assistance or collision-warning features; vehicles with these systems almost always have a mono camera. Dashboard warning symbols related to lane or collision systems also indicate the presence of this camera.

    Replacement impact

When the windscreen is replaced, the camera bracket and lens assembly must be removed and carefully repositioned on the new glass. The camera may require calibration after fitting to ensure accurate road detection and lane recognition. Calibration needs vary by vehicle — we confirm the exact procedure when we look up your specific vehicle. The job may take longer than a standard windscreen replacement, and workshop facilities may be required if calibration demands a controlled environment.

About the Hyundai i30

The Hyundai i30 has been in continuous production since 2007, evolving through four generations with steadily advancing glass and safety technology. Early models carry straightforward laminated windscreens with a green tint and VIN notch, while later variants from the mid-2010s onwards feature solar-control glass to reduce heat absorption and cabin glare.

From around 2016, higher-specification i30 models introduced Hyundai's SmartSense suite — a camera-based driver assistance system mounted behind the windscreen. This requires calibration whenever the windscreen is replaced, adding a workshop step to the fitting process on equipped variants.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

If your i30 has Hyundai SmartSense (typically from 2016 onwards on higher trims), then yes — the front-view camera must be recalibrated using Hyundai's static calibration method and diagnostic equipment. This is mandatory for safety and is included in your booking when required.

Our quote process identifies whether your variant needs this; if it does, your entire job is scheduled at a workshop rather than mobile.

Older i30 models (2007–2014) carry basic laminated windscreens with a green tint and VIN notch. Later generations introduced solar-control glass to reduce heat absorption, and from around 2016, SmartSense-equipped models added a camera bracket and the requirement for post-replacement calibration.

Our parts team identifies your exact generation during the quote, so the right glass is supplied and any calibration is arranged in advance.

That depends on whether your model has SmartSense camera system. Non-camera i30 models are typically fitted mobile at your address; camera-equipped variants require a workshop visit so calibration can be completed indoors with Hyundai diagnostic equipment.

Your quote will specify which applies to your i30, and you can arrange the date that suits you best.
