Hyundai Matrix windscreen price, by year

Pricing for Matrix windscreen replacement is straightforward because this model predates modern ADAS systems. The primary variation comes from the need to match the blue sun strip and green-tinted specification — aftermarket glass must be sourced to the exact factory variant. Earlier models in the run are generally the most affordable to replace.

Year Price range Quote
2010 £254 £254 Price my 2010
2009 £254 £254 Price my 2009
2008 £254 £254 Price my 2008
2007 £254 £254 Price my 2007
2006 £254 £254 Price my 2006
2005 £254 £254 Price my 2005
2004 £254 £254 Price my 2004

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older Matrixs can still be booked.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

From quote to fitted glass, the entire process is designed to be simple and transparent.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Matrix?

The Hyundai Matrix (2002–2010) does not carry ADAS camera systems, so windscreen replacement is typically completed at your home or workplace on a mobile basis. No calibration is required after fitting. If you prefer a workshop location for convenience or weather protection, that's always available — just let us know at booking.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your Matrix have?

  • Blue Sun Strip1
    2002–2010

A blue-tinted gradient band across the top of your windscreen that reduces glare without affecting your view of the road.

    What it means

A blue sun strip is a tinted gradient band built into the upper edge of your windscreen's laminate layer. It reduces glare from sunlight reflecting off the road and bonnet without darkening your main field of vision. The tint is created during manufacture as part of the glass laminate itself — it cannot be added or removed later. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature; rear and side windows cannot carry this effect because they use tempered rather than laminated glass.

    How to tell

Look at the top of your windscreen from inside the car — you'll see a distinct blue-tinted band running horizontally across the upper portion. Check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your windscreen is listed as a 'blue sun strip' or 'tinted sun strip' variant. Your invoice or parts manual will confirm it.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen with a blue sun strip, the replacement must be the sun-strip variant — a standard plain windscreen will not replicate the tinted band. Your replacement glass is sourced as an exact match to your original specification. There are no additional calibration or cure implications beyond a standard windscreen replacement. Fitting and drive-away times remain unchanged.

  • Green1
    2002–2010

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

About the Hyundai Matrix

The Hyundai Matrix was produced between 2002 and 2010 as a compact multipurpose vehicle designed for practical family use. Across this run, the Matrix received straightforward windscreen glass as standard, with a blue sun strip fitted to reduce glare from above.

The windscreen features a green tint, which is subtle but present — a common specification on vehicles of this era. Replacement glass must match this factory specification exactly, including the blue sun strip and green tint, to maintain the original appearance and performance.
