Hyundai Accent windscreen price, by year

Prices vary depending on your Accent's generation and specification. Newer models equipped with the SmartSense camera system require professional static calibration after replacement, which adds to the overall cost and may necessitate a workshop visit rather than a mobile fitting.

All current variants carry a blue sun strip as standard, and most feature green-tinted glass, so replacement glass must match these specifications exactly.

Year Price range Quote

2020 £555 £555 Price my 2020

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older Accents can still be booked.

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

  1. 1

Start with an instant online quote — answer a few quick questions about your Accent's year, mileage, and features using our guided quiz, and get a personalised price in under 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Complete your booking in under two minutes through our secure checkout. You'll be matched with an approved fitter in your area who specialises in Hyundai models.

  3. 3

Our team performs a parts check to confirm your replacement glass matches your factory specification — including your blue sun strip and green tint.

  4. 4

Your fitter collects you at your preferred location (usually mobile at your address, or at a workshop if calibration is required). Fitting typically takes 45–90 minutes depending on your variant.

  5. 5

If your Accent has SmartSense, static camera calibration is completed after the glass is set — the fitter will confirm your drive-away time before leaving.

  6. 6

Your replacement is covered by our standard two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Book now and get your Accent back on the road with confidence.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Accent?

Most Hyundai Accent windscreen replacements can be fitted at your address using our mobile service. However, if your model is equipped with the SmartSense camera system (typically on newer variants), static calibration is required after replacement using Hyundai diagnostic software and a dedicated target board.

When calibration is needed, the entire job — replacement and calibration together — is scheduled at a workshop to ensure the system is properly aligned and operates safely. Your fitter will confirm whether your specific Accent requires this when you book.

  • Blue Sun Strip4
    1995–2026

A blue-tinted gradient band across the top of your windscreen that reduces glare without affecting your view of the road.

    What it means

A blue sun strip is a tinted gradient band built into the upper edge of your windscreen's laminate layer. It reduces glare from sunlight reflecting off the road and bonnet without darkening your main field of vision. The tint is created during manufacture as part of the glass laminate itself — it cannot be added or removed later. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature; rear and side windows cannot carry this effect because they use tempered rather than laminated glass.

    How to tell

Look at the top of your windscreen from inside the car — you'll see a distinct blue-tinted band running horizontally across the upper portion. Check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your windscreen is listed as a 'blue sun strip' or 'tinted sun strip' variant. Your invoice or parts manual will confirm it.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen with a blue sun strip, the replacement must be the sun-strip variant — a standard plain windscreen will not replicate the tinted band. Your replacement glass is sourced as an exact match to your original specification. There are no additional calibration or cure implications beyond a standard windscreen replacement. Fitting and drive-away times remain unchanged.

  • Green4
    1995–2026

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Vin Notch1
    2006–2026

A printed VIN reference box along the bottom edge of your windscreen helps identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

    What it means

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) notch is a small printed or etched box positioned along the lower edge of the windscreen that displays your vehicle's chassis number. This reference marking is a manufacturing and administrative feature, allowing quick visual identification of the vehicle without needing to consult documents. It's particularly useful for service records, insurance claims, and vehicle registration purposes. The notch itself doesn't affect the structural integrity or safety performance of the glass.

    How to tell

Look along the bottom edge of your windscreen — typically in one of the lower corners — for a small rectangular box containing printed digits or characters. If you're uncertain, check your vehicle's service handbook or ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your model includes this feature.

    Replacement impact

When your windscreen is replaced, the new glass will retain the VIN notch printed or etched by the manufacturer. This is a standard feature on replacement windscreens for compatible vehicles and requires no additional work or adjustment. The notch does not affect glass fitting, cure time, or any post-replacement calibration procedures.

About the Hyundai Accent

The Hyundai Accent has been in continuous production since 1994, evolving through five generations and remaining a popular choice across the UK. Windscreen specifications vary across these generations, with all current variants featuring a blue sun strip to reduce glare from above without affecting driver visibility.

Earlier Accents carry straightforward laminated windscreens, while later generations have introduced additional features such as green-tinted glass and VIN notching on select variants. More recent models may be equipped with Hyundai's SmartSense camera system, which requires professional calibration after windscreen replacement to ensure lane-keeping and forward collision avoidance systems operate correctly.
