Ford Fusion rear window price, by year

Price variation on Fusion rear-window replacement reflects the presence of optional hardware (brackets and mounts bonded to the glass), tint colour differences, and whether solar-control coating was fitted to the original. Variants with tinted or coated glass tend to cost more than standard clear units because the replacement must match the factory specification exactly.

Year Price range Quote

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Ford Fusion rear window replacement

Booking through UK Car Glass takes about a minute, and fitting is typically scheduled within days.

  1. 1

Complete the online quote form with your Fusion variant details (year, trim, and any visible glass features).

  2. 2

Our parts check team confirms the exact specification and matches you with a specialist in your area.

  3. 3

Your fitter contacts you to arrange a convenient time — mobile fitting at your address is the default.

  4. 4

On the day, the technician removes the shattered glass, cleans accessible shards, and bonds the replacement into place.

  5. 5

Shard cleanup is part of the job, though small fragments can lodge in places fitters can't easily reach; a professional valet afterwards is recommended for thorough detailing.

  6. 6

Your fitter confirms the drive-away time — typically the same day, though this depends on the adhesive used and weather conditions.

You're covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Fusion?

Most Ford Fusion rear-window replacements are fitted mobile at your address — there's no calibration involved because this model predates the driver-assistance systems that require it. Weather can occasionally make a workshop venue preferable, but the default is a technician visit to your home or workplace.

If your location is difficult to access (long driveway, tight parking, or poor weather forecast), your fitter may suggest arranging the job at a local workshop instead. This is always your choice.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Green1
    2002–2012

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen1
    2002–2012

Heated rear windscreen with integrated wires clears mist and ice when you switch on the demister.

    What it means

A heated rear windscreen contains fine heating wires embedded within the glass. When you activate the rear demister, an electrical current passes through these wires, warming the glass and melting ice or condensation. This feature is particularly useful in cold or damp weather, improving rear visibility quickly. The heating grid is integral to the glass and connected to your vehicle's electrical circuit via connectors at the base of the windscreen.

    How to tell

Look at the rear windscreen from inside the vehicle — you will see a fine grid of horizontal lines across the glass, typically bronze or copper in colour. On the dashboard or steering wheel stalk, there will be a dedicated rear-demist button, usually marked with a windscreen symbol and heating lines. If in doubt, ask your vehicle's service centre or consult your handbook.

    Replacement impact

Replacement rear windscreens with heated grids are widely available as original-equipment aftermarket or dealership parts. The new glass must include the factory heating grid and electrical connectors intact. The technician will reconnect the heating circuit to your vehicle's rear-demist switch. Heated rear windscreens are bonded glass, so adhesive cure time applies; drive-away time will be confirmed by the fitter on the day.

  • Solar Control1
    2002–2012

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

About the Ford Fusion

The Ford Fusion was produced from 2002 to 2012 and represents a single generation with consistent design. Rear windows on Fusion models are typically toughened glass, which means a shattered rear window creates many small shards rather than large chunks.

Most variants carry factory-fitted hardware bonded to the glass — brackets or mounts that integrate with your vehicle's trim. Some models feature dark grey or green-tinted rear glass, either as a factory specification or as a later trim option. A smaller number of variants include solar-control coating, which helps reduce heat absorption from sunlight.

Because the Fusion predates widespread driver-assistance systems, calibration is not part of rear-window replacement for this model — the job focuses entirely on glass removal and refitting.
