Peugeot Expert windscreen price, by year

Prices vary across the Expert's production span and trim breadth. Older models without encapsulation or rain sensors are typically the most affordable to replace. Mid-generation variants with encapsulated trim and rain sensors carry slightly higher costs due to more complex parts sourcing. Current models with acoustic or camera-equipped windscreens command higher prices, and those with ADAS cameras require workshop-based static calibration, adding time and specialist labour.

Year Price range Quote

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Peugeot Expert windscreen replacement

Booking your Expert windscreen replacement through UK Car Glass is straightforward.

  1. 1

Answer a quick online quiz about your variant (generation, trim features, year) — takes about a minute.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote and choose your preferred date and location (mobile at your address or at a local workshop).

  3. 3

We match you with an approved technician in your area and send confirmation with their contact details.

  4. 4

On fitting day, the technician will confirm your minimum drive-away time before starting work. If your Expert has a forward camera, calibration is completed after the glass sets.

  5. 5

Your replacement windscreen is covered by a two-year warranty against workmanship and glass defects.

Most Expert windscreen jobs complete within a couple of hours, and you'll have peace of mind knowing your replacement is guaranteed for two years.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Expert?

Most Expert windscreen replacements can be arranged at your address (mobile fitting). However, if your variant is equipped with a forward-facing camera for driver assistance, static calibration is required after the glass is fitted — this uses specialist diagnostic equipment and must be done at a workshop. In this case, your entire job (replacement and calibration) is scheduled at a local workshop to keep everything in one place and ensure your safety systems are properly recalibrated.

  • Vin Notch10
    2006–2026

On the Peugeot Expert: fitted on 10 of the 12 windscreen variants we list (83%); model years 2006–2026.

    What it means

A small box printed along the bottom of the windscreen displaying your vehicle's chassis number — helps with identification and records.

    On your Peugeot Expert

Confirmed during the quote process. Three in four Expert variants in our catalogue carry a VIN notch.

  • Green8
    1995–2026

On the Peugeot Expert: fitted on 8 of the 12 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 1995–2026.

    What it means

A subtle green tint built into the glass that reduces glare and UV penetration — so faint most owners don't notice it, but it's there on most modern windscreens.

    On your Peugeot Expert

Confirmed at booking. Green tint is standard on the majority of Expert variants.

  • Rain Sensor6
    2006–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Peugeot Expert: fitted on 6 of the 12 windscreen variants we list (50%); model years 2006–2026; no calibration after replacement.

    What it means

An optical sensor mounted behind the windscreen that detects moisture and automatically activates your wipers when it rains.

    On your Peugeot Expert

Common on mid-range and higher trims from the late 2000s onwards. Confirmed during your quote.

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)5
    2016–2026

On the Peugeot Expert: fitted on 5 of the 12 windscreen variants we list (42%); model years 2016–2026.

    What it means

A specialised laminate with sound-dampening properties that reduces road and engine noise inside the cab — identified by the word 'Acoustic' or 'SoundScreen' printed in a corner or by a recognisable ear symbol.

    On your Peugeot Expert

Peugeot uses option code L3P for acoustic windscreens. One in three Expert variants carries acoustic glass, typically on higher-spec or comfort-focused trims.

  • Clear4
    1995–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Peugeot Expert: fitted on 4 of the 12 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 1995–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

Clear windscreen glass has no tint; most cars have a slight tint as standard.

    What it means

A clear windscreen contains no added tint layer. Most modern windscreens incorporate a subtle tint (typically blue, green, grey or bronze) as standard to reduce glare, provide UV protection, and improve cabin comfort. A genuinely clear windscreen is the absence of this tint. Clear glass is less common than tinted variants and is sometimes specified for aesthetic or operational reasons, though the tint difference is usually imperceptible to the naked eye.

    How to tell

Lower your side window halfway and hold a white piece of paper behind it. If you see a noticeable colour cast (blue, green, grey or bronze) in the side glass, your windscreen has the same tint. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre to confirm the windscreen specification in your service records.

    Replacement impact

Clear windscreen replacement uses the same installation process as any other windscreen. No special calibration or extended cure time applies. Sourcing is straightforward — clear glass is widely available as an aftermarket replacement. Installation time and drive-away restrictions follow standard windscreen replacement timings. If your vehicle has ADAS features (forward-facing camera or radar), calibration may be required after replacement depending on your specific vehicle; we confirm this when we look up your car details.

  • Coating3
    2006–2026

On the Peugeot Expert: fitted on 3 of the 12 windscreen variants we list (25%); model years 2006–2026.

Coated windscreens have a blue or purple tint and protect your car from UV rays and heat.

    What it means

A coated windscreen has a special protective layer applied to the glass that appears as a blue or purple tint and often reflects a silvery-blue colour in bright sunlight. This coating is designed to reduce the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation and solar heat that enters the vehicle, helping to keep the interior cooler and protecting upholstery and dashboard components from UV damage and fading. The coating is integral to the glass and doesn't require any special maintenance from you.

    How to tell

Look at your windscreen in bright daylight — a coated windscreen will show a distinct blue or purple tint and a silvery-blue reflection when the sun hits it directly. Check your vehicle's service booklet or window sticker (usually on the driver's door jamb), which may list the glass specification. Alternatively, ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your windscreen carries a UV or heat-rejection coating.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a coated windscreen, the replacement glass must match the original specification — including the coating type and tint level — to maintain the same UV and heat protection and to preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Original-equipment or equivalent aftermarket coated glass is sourced to specification. The coating is applied during glass manufacture; no post-fit treatment is required. Fitting and cure times are unaffected by the presence of the coating.

  • Solar Control3
    2006–2026

On the Peugeot Expert: fitted on 3 of the 12 windscreen variants we list (25%); model years 2006–2026.

    What it means

A special coating that absorbs the sun's infrared rays, keeping the cab cooler on hot days and reducing air-conditioning load.

    On your Peugeot Expert

Confirmed during the parts check. Available on select trimmer variants, particularly those specified for Mediterranean or warm-weather markets.

  • Camera2
    2016–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Peugeot Expert: fitted on 2 of the 12 windscreen variants we list (17%); model years 2016–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A forward-facing camera mounted in the black field behind the rear-view mirror that feeds into ADAS driver-assistance systems — you'll see a small triangular shape in the top corner if your Expert has one.

    On your Peugeot Expert

Fitted on a small proportion of current-generation Expert models equipped with Peugeot's Drive Assist Plus safety suite. Static camera calibration is required after replacement.

  • Bracket For Safety Features1
    2016–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Peugeot Expert: fitted on 1 of the 12 windscreen variants we list (8%); model years 2016–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

The moulded trim that surrounds your camera and sensor cluster at the top of the windscreen, typically transferred or supplied with replacement glass.

    What it means

A bracket for safety features is the moulded plastic or composite shroud that sits at the top of the windscreen, framing and protecting the camera and sensor cluster mounted behind the rear-view mirror. This trim cover houses forward-facing driver-assistance cameras and sensors — equipment that monitors the road ahead for lane-keeping, collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and similar safety functions. The bracket itself is part of the vehicle's structural frame, but the trim cover you see is what protects and aesthetically integrates the technology into the windscreen area.

    How to tell

Look at the top centre of your windscreen, just above or around the rear-view mirror. If you see a dark moulded shroud or trim panel — often rectangular or tapered — with a visible lens or sensor window, your vehicle has a bracket for safety features. Your service history or handbook will list any ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technologies fitted. Ask your dealer or service centre if your vehicle has forward-facing cameras or sensors; if it does, you have a bracket for safety features.

    Replacement impact

On windscreen replacement, the trim cover is typically transferred from your old glass to the new one, or supplied pre-integrated with the replacement depending on the variant. This means minimal disruption to your safety system during the swap. However, if the bracket requires recalibration after glass replacement — which depends on your specific vehicle and camera type — the job may require static calibration (using a target board) or dynamic calibration (a road drive). We confirm the exact calibration procedure when we look up your vehicle.

  • Defogging Detector1
    2024–2026

On the Peugeot Expert: fitted on 1 of the 12 windscreen variants we list (8%); model years 2024–2026.

A defogging detector automatically clears condensation from your windscreen, improving visibility in damp conditions.

    What it means

A defogging detector is a sensor that monitors moisture levels on the windscreen and triggers the demister system automatically when condensation builds up. It improves driver visibility and safety in damp or cold weather by preventing manual intervention. The sensor typically sits near the rear-view mirror, positioned to sense moisture accumulation on the glass surface.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or ask your dealer's service centre whether your model includes an automatic defogging or moisture-sensing demister. Look near the rear-view mirror for a small sensor unit. Some vehicles display an indicator light or message on the dashboard when the system is active.

    Replacement impact

The defogging detector does not affect windscreen replacement or require recalibration after fitting. The sensor itself remains in place and continues to function once the new windscreen is installed. No additional calibration, cure time, or specialist procedures are needed.

  • Dynamic Camera Calibration Process1
    2016–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Peugeot Expert: fitted on 1 of the 12 windscreen variants we list (8%); model years 2016–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

Dynamic calibration uses road driving to recalibrate your camera after windscreen replacement.

    What it means

Dynamic camera calibration is a procedure in which a technician drives the vehicle on marked roads at set speeds after the windscreen has been fitted and the adhesive has cured. During this drive, the forward-facing camera relearns its reference points — lane markings, road signs, road edges and surrounding traffic patterns — so it can resume accurate operation of camera-dependent safety and driver-assistance systems. This recalibration is necessary because any windscreen replacement, even with precision fitting, can introduce small shifts in the camera's optical alignment relative to the road.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or contact your dealer to confirm whether your car has a forward-facing camera system. If it does, ask the dealer whether your specific model requires dynamic (road-drive) or static (target-board) calibration after windscreen replacement. You can also ask your fitter — they will establish this when they look up your vehicle's specification.

    Replacement impact

After your windscreen is fitted and the bonding has cured, a technician will drive the vehicle on marked roads at controlled speeds to allow the camera to relearn its environment. This extends the overall job duration beyond the glass-fitting time alone. Depending on your vehicle, calibration may be performed during the same visit or scheduled separately. We confirm the exact procedure and location (mobile or workshop) when we look up your specific vehicle.

  • Mono Camera1
    2016–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Peugeot Expert: fitted on 1 of the 12 windscreen variants we list (8%); model years 2016–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

A single camera mounted near the rear-view mirror that helps with lane-keeping and collision avoidance.

    What it means

A mono camera is a single-lens camera positioned behind the windscreen, typically in the upper centre area near the rear-view mirror. It captures the road ahead and uses computer vision to detect lane markings, vehicles, and road hazards. The camera feeds data to driver-assistance systems such as lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning. It forms the visual foundation of these safety features, allowing the vehicle to monitor road position and surrounding traffic automatically.

    How to tell

Look in the black trim area above the windscreen, centred behind the rear-view mirror — you will see a small triangular lens assembly or dark lens cover. Check your vehicle handbook or ask your dealer's service department to confirm your model has lane-assistance or collision-warning features; vehicles with these systems almost always have a mono camera. Dashboard warning symbols related to lane or collision systems also indicate the presence of this camera.

    Replacement impact

When the windscreen is replaced, the camera bracket and lens assembly must be removed and carefully repositioned on the new glass. The camera may require calibration after fitting to ensure accurate road detection and lane recognition. Calibration needs vary by vehicle — we confirm the exact procedure when we look up your specific vehicle. The job may take longer than a standard windscreen replacement, and workshop facilities may be required if calibration demands a controlled environment.

About the Peugeot Expert

The Peugeot Expert has been a workhorse of European commercial fleets since 1995, evolving through multiple generations of practical van design. Early models carry straightforward laminated windscreens with basic rubber seals, while later variants from the 2000s onwards feature encapsulated trim (factory-bonded rubber moulding) and green-tinted glass as standard.

From the early 2010s, rain sensors began appearing on higher-spec models, allowing automatic wiper activation in wet conditions. More recent Expert generations introduced acoustic glass on select trim levels to reduce cabin noise — a valuable option for long-distance driving. A small number of current-generation variants are equipped with forward-facing cameras for ADAS driver assistance, which require static calibration after windscreen replacement.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

Only a small number of Expert variants carry a forward-facing camera for ADAS driver assistance. You'll see a triangular shape in the black field near the rear-view mirror if yours is equipped. If you do have a camera, static calibration is completed after your new windscreen is fitted using specialist diagnostic equipment — this is why the job is scheduled at a workshop rather than at your address.

Acoustic windscreens use a special sound-dampening laminate that reduces cabin noise from the road and engine. They're identified by the word 'Acoustic' or 'SoundScreen' printed in one of the corners. Peugeot uses option code L3P to denote acoustic glass. One in three Expert variants in our catalogue carries acoustic glass, typically on higher-spec trims or comfort packages — the quote process confirms which variant you have.

Encapsulation is a rubber gasket bonded directly to the windscreen glass at the factory. On replacement, the entire unit (glass plus trim) arrives ready to fit as one — the technician doesn't need to transfer or refit the trim separately. Three in four Expert variants carry encapsulated windscreens, which simplifies the job.

Older Expert models without encapsulation use a separate rubber seal bonded after the glass is installed, which is still straightforward but slightly different in approach.

Older Expert models from the late 1990s and early 2000s carry simpler laminated windscreens without rain sensors, acoustic dampening, or cameras. These are typically the most straightforward and most affordable to replace. Your fitter will source a replacement matching your original specification and confirm the fit is correct before they leave.
