Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

About the Peugeot 807

The Peugeot 807 was produced from 2002 to 2010 as a seven-seat MPV, offering practical family transport with straightforward glass specifications across its production run.

Early and mid-life 807 models carry laminated windscreens with encapsulated rubber trim, meaning the gasket arrives bonded to the glass as one unit for seamless replacement. Many variants include a coating on the windscreen—a UV and heat-protective layer that gives the glass a subtle blue or purple tint in sunlight.

Half of the active 807 variants in our network carry rain sensors for automatic wiper activation in wet weather. All models feature a VIN notch stamped into the windscreen bottom edge, helping you identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

If your 807 is equipped with a rain sensor, the sensor itself is integrated into the windscreen glass and is replaced as part of the new unit. The fitter confirms during booking whether your variant has this feature, and your replacement glass is sourced with the sensor already installed and calibrated.

All 807 windscreens include a built-in tint to reduce UV and heat—that's the 'clear' attribute. The 'coating' refers to an additional protective layer applied to many variants that gives the glass a subtle blue or purple hue in sunlight. Both work together to protect your cabin and reduce glare.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification, so if your current windscreen has both tint and coating, the new one will too.

Your fitter will confirm the minimum drive-away time before leaving—this depends on the adhesive used and ambient temperature on the day. Avoid slamming doors or carrying heavy loads on the roof for the first few hours while the bond cures. You'll receive a two-year warranty covering workmanship and any manufacturer defects in the glass itself.
