Peugeot 508 windscreen price, by year

Prices vary significantly across the six variants in our catalogue, driven by generation and equipment differences. Earlier 2011–2017 models without cameras and rain sensors are typically the most affordable. Later models with Drive Assist Plus camera systems carry higher calibration costs, and variants with heated windscreens or solar-control glass add premium features that affect pricing.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Peugeot 508 windscreen replacement

Booking your Peugeot 508 windscreen replacement is straightforward and takes just a few steps.

  1. 1

Complete an instant online quote using our guided quiz — we'll identify your exact 508 variant and any ADAS systems fitted in under 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Our parts-check team confirms the correct glass and any integrated features (camera bracket, rain sensor, heating elements) match your factory specification.

  3. 3

We match you with a local technician approved by UKCG, who will discuss whether mobile or workshop fitting suits your situation.

  4. 4

Your fitter replaces the windscreen, which typically takes 45–90 minutes depending on the vehicle and whether calibration is needed.

  5. 5

If your 508 is camera-equipped, static ADAS calibration is completed as part of the same visit at a workshop location.

  6. 6

Your fitter confirms the drive-away time before you leave — minimum timings depend on the adhesive and conditions on the day.

You're covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality, and we're here if any concerns arise.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your 508?

Most Peugeot 508 windscreen replacements can be fitted at your address via mobile appointment. However, if your 508 is equipped with Drive Assist Plus camera technology — present on two of the six variants — static ADAS calibration is required after the glass is fitted.

Calibration is completed at a workshop using specialist target boards and diagnostic equipment, so the entire job (replacement and calibration) is scheduled at one location. This keeps accountability clear and ensures safety-critical calibration actually happens. Your fitter will confirm the total time and workshop location during booking.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your 508 have?

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)5
    2011–2024

On the Peugeot 508: fitted on every one of the 5 windscreen variants we list; model years 2011–2024.

    What it means

Acoustic laminated glass reduces cabin noise from road and wind, improving driving comfort.

    On your Peugeot 508

Standard across all six 508 variants in our catalogue; Peugeot denotes this with option code L3P or 'SoundScreen' badging.

  • Green5
    2011–2024

On the Peugeot 508: fitted on every one of the 5 windscreen variants we list; model years 2011–2024.

    What it means

A subtle green tint in the glass helps reduce glare and UV transmission, standard on modern Peugeots.

    On your Peugeot 508

All six 508 variants carry green-tinted factory glass; the tint is subtle but present when comparing to clear reference glass.

  • Vin Notch5
    2011–2024

On the Peugeot 508: fitted on every one of the 5 windscreen variants we list; model years 2011–2024.

A printed VIN reference box along the bottom edge of your windscreen helps identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

    What it means

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) notch is a small printed or etched box positioned along the lower edge of the windscreen that displays your vehicle's chassis number. This reference marking is a manufacturing and administrative feature, allowing quick visual identification of the vehicle without needing to consult documents. It's particularly useful for service records, insurance claims, and vehicle registration purposes. The notch itself doesn't affect the structural integrity or safety performance of the glass.

    How to tell

Look along the bottom edge of your windscreen — typically in one of the lower corners — for a small rectangular box containing printed digits or characters. If you're uncertain, check your vehicle's service handbook or ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your model includes this feature.

    Replacement impact

When your windscreen is replaced, the new glass will retain the VIN notch printed or etched by the manufacturer. This is a standard feature on replacement windscreens for compatible vehicles and requires no additional work or adjustment. The notch does not affect glass fitting, cure time, or any post-replacement calibration procedures.

  • Rain Sensor3
    2011–2024No calibration after replacement

On the Peugeot 508: fitted on 3 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (60%); model years 2011–2024; no calibration after replacement.

    What it means

An infrared sensor in the windscreen automatically activates the wipers when it detects rain.

    On your Peugeot 508

Fitted on four of the six variants, typically found on higher-trim and later-generation 508 models; confirmed during the quote.

  • Bracket For Safety Features2
    2018–2024Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Peugeot 508: fitted on 2 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (40%); model years 2018–2024; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A moulded trim shroud around the camera and sensor cluster at the top of the windscreen — transferred from your original glass or supplied integrated with the replacement.

    On your Peugeot 508

Present on camera-equipped 508 variants; the bracket is handled during the replacement and confirmed by your technician at the fit.

  • Camera2
    2018–2024Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Peugeot 508: fitted on 2 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (40%); model years 2018–2024; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A front-facing camera positioned behind the windscreen feeds data to the Drive Assist Plus driver-assistance system for lane-keeping and adaptive cruise.

    On your Peugeot 508

Present on two of the six variants — later models from around 2018 onwards equipped with Drive Assist Plus; visible as triangular shapes in the black frit near the rear-view mirror.

  • GPS2
    2011–2018

On the Peugeot 508: fitted on 2 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (40%); model years 2011–2018.

    What it means

A GPS antenna laminated into the glass preserves satellite-navigation reception on vehicles fitted with in-built sat-nav systems.

    On your Peugeot 508

Present on half of the six variants; confirmed during the quote based on your 508's factory specification.

  • Heated Windscreen1
    2018–2024

On the Peugeot 508: fitted on 1 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (20%); model years 2018–2024.

Heated windscreens use embedded wires to quickly clear ice and condensation in cold weather.

    What it means

A heated windscreen is integrated with a fine mesh of electrical wires embedded within the glass itself. When activated, these wires generate heat to warm the windscreen surface, helping to rapidly clear frost, ice, and condensation during cold or damp conditions. This feature improves visibility and safety in winter driving and reduces reliance on engine heat and demister air, which can be slower on very cold mornings.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or contact your dealership service centre — they can confirm whether your model includes this feature. Look for a dashboard symbol (usually a windscreen icon with heat waves) when you activate the function, or check your infotainment settings for a heating or climate option linked to the windscreen. Some vehicles have a dedicated button on the stalk or console.

    Replacement impact

Heated windscreens require replacement glass to be of the correct heated specification — standard unheated glass cannot be fitted. The replacement glass must be sourced to match your vehicle's exact heated-wire configuration. Installation is straightforward, though the technician will confirm the heating element is functioning correctly after fitting. No calibration is required for this feature.

  • Solar Control1
    2011–2018

On the Peugeot 508: fitted on 1 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (20%); model years 2011–2018.

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

About the Peugeot 508

The Peugeot 508 has been in continuous production since 2011, evolving through two major generations. Early models carry straightforward laminated windscreens with acoustic damping as standard, whilst later variants from the mid-2010s onwards introduced rain sensors and green-tinted glass as common fitments.

From around 2018, the 508 began incorporating Drive Assist Plus technology, which brings a front-mounted camera positioned behind the windscreen. Camera-equipped variants require post-replacement static calibration using specialist diagnostic equipment — this is completed at a workshop and takes longer than standard fits, but doesn't extend your drive-away time because calibration runs in parallel with adhesive cure.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

Only the two later variants in our catalogue, from around 2018 onwards with Drive Assist Plus, carry a front-facing camera. You can check by looking for triangular shapes in the black frit near the rear-view mirror, or confirm during the online quote.

If your 508 has a camera, a static calibration procedure is completed after windscreen replacement using specialist equipment. This is standard and takes place at a workshop; it doesn't add to your drive-away time because it runs in parallel with adhesive cure.

The first-generation 508 (2011–2017) features acoustic laminated glass and acoustic damping as standard, with green tinting and straightforward mounting. The second generation from 2018 onwards added rain sensors on higher trims, and introduced the Drive Assist Plus camera system on select variants.

Both generations use encapsulated trim — meaning the rubber seal is pre-bonded to the glass and arrives ready to install. Your exact requirements depend on your 508's year and specification, which the online quote identifies in seconds.

No — rain sensors are fitted on four of the six variants in our catalogue, typically on higher-trim and later-generation models. The online quote confirms whether your specific 508 variant includes this feature, and if it does, the sensor is integrated into the replacement glass and activated automatically when moisture is detected.

If your 508 doesn't require ADAS calibration, a mobile appointment at your address is the default and most convenient option. If your variant is camera-equipped and needs post-replacement calibration, the entire job is scheduled at a workshop using the no-split rule — this keeps the calibration process controlled and accountable.

Your technician will discuss the best fit around your diary during booking.
