Peugeot 407 windscreen price, by year

Price variation across the 407 range is driven primarily by generation and trim specification. Models equipped with solar-control glass and rain sensors typically cost more than earlier base variants. Acoustic windscreens, found on select higher trims, carry additional cost due to the noise-reduction laminate. GPS-equipped models are less common and may have longer lead times.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Peugeot 407 windscreen replacement

Booking your Peugeot 407 windscreen replacement through UK Car Glass is a simple four-stage process.

  1. 1

Answer a quick online quiz about your model year and trim details — takes around 60 seconds to generate an instant quote.

  2. 2

Book your appointment at a time that suits you — mobile fitting at your address is the default, or you can choose a workshop location.

  3. 3

We match you with a local technician from our network of approved fitters, who confirms the exact glass specification at the parts-check stage before your appointment.

  4. 4

On the day, your fitter removes the damaged windscreen, fits your replacement encapsulated glass, and clears the surrounding area.

  5. 5

Your fitter confirms the drive-away time before leaving — typically the same day, though timing depends on the adhesive product used and weather conditions.

All replacements come with a two-year warranty covering workmanship and glass quality.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your 407?

The Peugeot 407 predates modern ADAS driver-assistance systems, so your windscreen replacement does not require post-fit calibration. Mobile fitting at your address is the standard option across all 407 variants.

Your fitter works with their own van-based equipment and can complete the job wherever you choose. If you prefer a workshop environment — for shelter from weather, easier access to facilities, or peace of mind — you can request that during booking.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Clear1
    2006–2010Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Peugeot 407: fitted on 1 of the 6 windscreen variants we list (17%); model years 2006–2010; calibration varies by vehicle.

Clear windscreen glass has no tint; most cars have a slight tint as standard.

    What it means

A clear windscreen contains no added tint layer. Most modern windscreens incorporate a subtle tint (typically blue, green, grey or bronze) as standard to reduce glare, provide UV protection, and improve cabin comfort. A genuinely clear windscreen is the absence of this tint. Clear glass is less common than tinted variants and is sometimes specified for aesthetic or operational reasons, though the tint difference is usually imperceptible to the naked eye.

    How to tell

Lower your side window halfway and hold a white piece of paper behind it. If you see a noticeable colour cast (blue, green, grey or bronze) in the side glass, your windscreen has the same tint. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre to confirm the windscreen specification in your service records.

    Replacement impact

Clear windscreen replacement uses the same installation process as any other windscreen. No special calibration or extended cure time applies. Sourcing is straightforward — clear glass is widely available as an aftermarket replacement. Installation time and drive-away restrictions follow standard windscreen replacement timings. If your vehicle has ADAS features (forward-facing camera or radar), calibration may be required after replacement depending on your specific vehicle; we confirm this when we look up your car details.

    • 1None

  • Coating1
    2006–2010

On the Peugeot 407: fitted on 1 of the 6 windscreen variants we list (17%); model years 2006–2010.

Coated windscreens have a blue or purple tint and protect your car from UV rays and heat.

    What it means

A coated windscreen has a special protective layer applied to the glass that appears as a blue or purple tint and often reflects a silvery-blue colour in bright sunlight. This coating is designed to reduce the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation and solar heat that enters the vehicle, helping to keep the interior cooler and protecting upholstery and dashboard components from UV damage and fading. The coating is integral to the glass and doesn't require any special maintenance from you.

    How to tell

Look at your windscreen in bright daylight — a coated windscreen will show a distinct blue or purple tint and a silvery-blue reflection when the sun hits it directly. Check your vehicle's service booklet or window sticker (usually on the driver's door jamb), which may list the glass specification. Alternatively, ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your windscreen carries a UV or heat-rejection coating.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a coated windscreen, the replacement glass must match the original specification — including the coating type and tint level — to maintain the same UV and heat protection and to preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Original-equipment or equivalent aftermarket coated glass is sourced to specification. The coating is applied during glass manufacture; no post-fit treatment is required. Fitting and cure times are unaffected by the presence of the coating.

About the Peugeot 407

The Peugeot 407 was produced from 2004 to 2011 across a single generation, offering owners a refined mid-size saloon with a range of powertrain and trim options. Most 407 windscreens feature encapsulation — a factory-bonded rubber trim that arrives pre-fitted to the glass, simplifying replacement.

The majority of 407 models carry green-tinted windscreens and rain sensors, with around two-thirds equipped with solar-control glass to reduce cabin heat in summer. Acoustic laminated glass appeared on select higher-specification variants, delivering a quieter cabin. A small number of 407s include GPS antennas integrated into the windscreen for satellite-navigation reception.

Being a pre-2014 model, the 407 predates the era of widespread ADAS driver-assistance systems, so your replacement windscreen will not require post-fit calibration — a straightforward fitting process without the complexity of modern camera-equipped vehicles.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

No — five of the six active variants in our catalogue carry rain-sensor capability, typically on higher trim levels and later model years. The parts-check team confirms whether your specific variant is equipped during the booking process. If you have automatic wipers that activate in rain, your windscreen almost certainly has the sensor.

Solar-control windscreens have a special infrared-absorbing coating that reduces the amount of heat entering the cabin on sunny days. Around two-thirds of 407 variants were specified with solar control, especially on higher trims intended for summer driving comfort. The coating is nearly invisible but measurably reduces cabin temperature and air-conditioning load.

Acoustic windscreens were optional on select 407 models, typically higher-specification trims. If your windscreen has 'Acoustic' or 'SoundScreen' printed in one of the four corners, or if you notice unusually quiet cabin noise at motorway speeds, acoustic glass is likely fitted. Your fitter can confirm this during the parts check and source an identical acoustic replacement if needed.

If your 407 has a GPS antenna integrated into the original windscreen, your fitter will source a replacement with the same antenna pattern, preserving navigation reception. This is confirmed during the parts-check stage after booking. Older 407 models without integrated GPS — those with an external roof antenna — will work unchanged after replacement.
