Peugeot 309 windscreen price, by year

Pricing varies primarily by which tint variant your 309 carries — bronze, blue sun strip, or clear — as each requires a different glass type. Later models within the production run may have different trim-level specifications. Your quote confirms the exact specification during the parts-check stage after booking, ensuring the glass you receive matches your original.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Peugeot 309 windscreen replacement

Booking your 309's windscreen replacement is straightforward and takes just a couple of minutes online.

  1. 1

Answer a short quiz about your 309's trim and features to identify your exact variant.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote and check availability with technicians in your area.

  3. 3

Complete your booking and checkout in under two minutes.

  4. 4

A specialist on our network will contact you to arrange a convenient time — typically mobile at your home, or at a local workshop if you prefer.

  5. 5

On the day, the technician checks your glass specification one final time, removes the damaged windscreen, and fits your replacement matched to factory spec.

  6. 6

Your technician confirms the minimum drive-away time before leaving, and your windscreen carries a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

From booking to fitting, the whole process is designed to be quick and hassle-free — leave the technical work to the professionals on our network.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your 309?

Because the Peugeot 309 predates modern driver-assistance systems, camera calibration is not required. This means your replacement is typically available as a mobile fitting at your home or workplace — the fitter brings all necessary equipment and completes the job without needing a workshop.

If weather is a concern or you simply prefer a workshop setting, that option is always available. Your technician will confirm the arrangement when they contact you to schedule.

  • Bronze2
    1985–1994

On the Peugeot 309: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 1985–1994.

    What it means

A subtle amber or golden tint built into the windscreen glass that reduces heat and glare — most 309s have it, though owners often don't notice it's there.

    On your Peugeot 309

Check your windscreen from outside in bright daylight; a bronze tint shows as a warm amber hue across the glass. Confirmed during the quote if you're uncertain.

  • Blue Sun Strip1
    1985–1994

On the Peugeot 309: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 1985–1994.

    What it means

A blue-tinted gradient band running across the top of the windscreen — a sun strip that reduces glare from above without affecting your main driving view.

    On your Peugeot 309

Look at the top edge of your windscreen from inside the car; the blue band is visible as a horizontal tinted area. This feature cannot be retrofitted to a plain windscreen, so replacement must match if your 309 has it.

  • Clear1

On the Peugeot 309: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 1985–1994; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A plain, uncoloured windscreen with no tint or sun strip — less common on the 309 but specified on certain trim levels.

    On your Peugeot 309

Your windscreen appears colourless with no visible tint or gradient band. Confirmed during the parts check after booking.

About the Peugeot 309

The Peugeot 309 was produced from 1985 to 1994 across a single generation, offering a straightforward windscreen design with bronze tinting as the most common specification.

Most 309s carry a subtle bronze tint to reduce heat and glare — a feature many owners don't realise is there. Some variants feature a distinctive blue sun strip, a tinted gradient band running across the top of the windscreen that cuts glare without affecting forward vision. Clear windscreens are less common but do appear on select trim levels.

Because the 309 predates modern driver-assistance systems, replacement glass is typically straightforward — no cameras or calibration equipment needed. Replacement focuses on matching your factory tint specification and ensuring the glass meets UK road safety standards.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

The bronze tint is built into the laminated glass during manufacture — it's not a film or coating you can remove. It reduces infrared heat and glare, especially from overhead sun, helping keep the interior cooler and reducing eye strain. Most 309 owners don't notice it because it's subtle, but it's a standard feature on the majority of cars from this era.

No. The blue sun strip is a permanent feature of the laminated PVB interlayer — it cannot be added to a plain windscreen after manufacture. Your replacement must match the exact variant on your 309. If you fit a clear windscreen where a blue sun strip was original, the distinctive tinted band will be missing.

Your technician will confirm the minimum drive-away time before they leave — this is based on the adhesive used and ambient conditions that day. The 309 doesn't require calibration equipment to complete, so once the glass is set and sealed, you're ready to go. Always follow the fitter's guidance on when it's safe to drive.

No. The Peugeot 309 was manufactured well before driver-assistance systems became common, so there are no cameras, rain sensors, or other electronic features mounted to the windscreen. This makes replacement straightforward — it's pure glass fitting with no additional calibration or specialist equipment needed.
