Nissan X-Trail windscreen price, by year

Prices vary with generation and ADAS equipment. Early-2000s models without cameras are typically more affordable, whilst later X-Trails with ProPILOT Assist carry higher calibration costs.

Acoustic and rain-sensor upgrades on mid-range trims also influence replacement pricing, as does the specific windscreen variant (encapsulation, heating elements, and sensor brackets add complexity).

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older Nissan X-Trail models can still be booked.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Nissan X-Trail windscreen replacement

Booking your X-Trail windscreen replacement takes just minutes — here's what happens next.

  1. 1

Complete a quick online quote using our guided tool — we identify your exact variant and confirm glass availability in under 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Checkout securely and select your preferred date and location (mobile at your address, or a workshop near you).

  3. 3

We match you with a local technician experienced in Nissan ADAS systems where required.

  4. 4

On the day, your fitter removes the old windscreen, checks the frame condition, and fits your replacement glass — typically 45–90 minutes of their time depending on whether calibration is needed.

  5. 5

If your X-Trail has ProPILOT Assist, static camera calibration is completed at a workshop with calibrated target boards before you drive away.

  6. 6

Your fitter confirms the minimum drive-away time before leaving, and you're covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

From booking to road-ready, the whole process is guided by specialists who understand Nissan's safety systems.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your X-Trail?

Most X-Trail windscreen replacements can be completed at your address by a mobile technician. However, if your X-Trail is equipped with ProPILOT Assist and requires static camera calibration, the entire job (replacement plus calibration) is scheduled at a workshop with proper target boards and diagnostic equipment.

This ensures calibration is completed correctly and you can drive away safely with all safety features restored — we never split the job across locations.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Vin Notch4
    2007–2021

On the Nissan X-Trail: fitted on 4 of the 8 windscreen variants we list (50%); model years 2007–2021.

A printed VIN reference box along the bottom edge of your windscreen helps identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

    What it means

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) notch is a small printed or etched box positioned along the lower edge of the windscreen that displays your vehicle's chassis number. This reference marking is a manufacturing and administrative feature, allowing quick visual identification of the vehicle without needing to consult documents. It's particularly useful for service records, insurance claims, and vehicle registration purposes. The notch itself doesn't affect the structural integrity or safety performance of the glass.

    How to tell

Look along the bottom edge of your windscreen — typically in one of the lower corners — for a small rectangular box containing printed digits or characters. If you're uncertain, check your vehicle's service handbook or ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your model includes this feature.

    Replacement impact

When your windscreen is replaced, the new glass will retain the VIN notch printed or etched by the manufacturer. This is a standard feature on replacement windscreens for compatible vehicles and requires no additional work or adjustment. The notch does not affect glass fitting, cure time, or any post-replacement calibration procedures.

  • HUD - Head Up Display2
    2022–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Nissan X-Trail: fitted on 2 of the 8 windscreen variants we list (25%); model years 2022–2026; no calibration after replacement.

A Head-Up Display projects your speed, navigation cues and key alerts onto the windscreen so you can read them without looking down.

    What it means

A Head-Up Display (HUD) projects driving information — speed, navigation cues, ADAS alerts — onto the windscreen in your line of sight, so you can read it without taking your eyes off the road. The projector is mounted in the dashboard and shines the image upwards onto a special HUD-compatible windscreen that uses a wedge-shaped laminate to prevent a ghost image. Common on premium and sports models, increasingly standard on mid-range cars from the 2020s onwards.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or handbook under 'display features' or 'HUD'. Look for a small projector unit mounted on the dashboard, typically below the steering wheel or in the instrument cluster area. When you start the vehicle, a bright image should appear on the lower windscreen area. Your dealer's service centre can confirm whether your specific model and trim level includes a HUD.

    Replacement impact

Your replacement windscreen needs to be HUD-compatible — built with the correct wedge laminate so the projected image stays sharp and double-free. Once the HUD-compatible glass is fitted, the projector itself typically doesn't need recalibration: image position is user-adjustable via your dashboard controls. We confirm your vehicle uses the HUD-compatible windscreen variant when ordering, so the replacement matches the original.

  • Solar Control1
    2010–2014

On the Nissan X-Trail: fitted on 1 of the 8 windscreen variants we list (13%); model years 2010–2014.

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

About the Nissan X-Trail

The Nissan X-Trail has been in continuous production since 2001, evolving through multiple generations as a popular family SUV across UK roads. Early models carried straightforward laminated windscreens, whilst later generations from the mid-2010s onwards introduced rain sensors, acoustic interlayers, and enhanced safety glass.

From around 2016, Nissan's ProPILOT Assist and Intelligent Mobility systems brought windscreen-mounted mono cameras for lane-centring and intelligent cruise control. Camera-equipped X-Trails require static calibration after windscreen replacement to maintain these safety features.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

ProPILOT Assist is available on many X-Trail variants from around 2016 onwards, particularly on higher-spec trims. If your windscreen has a triangular camera visible in the black field near the rear-view mirror, you have the system.

Our quote tool will confirm during the variant check — you don't need to look at the glass yourself.

If your X-Trail is fitted with ProPILOT Assist, static calibration is performed at a workshop after the windscreen is fitted. Your technician uses calibrated target boards positioned at manufacturer-specified distances and heights whilst a diagnostic tool realigns the forward camera.

Calibration runs in parallel with the adhesive cure, so it doesn't extend the time before you can drive away — your fitter confirms the drive-away time on the day.

Yes, if your X-Trail doesn't require camera calibration. We'll fit the windscreen at your address, typically in 45–90 minutes.

If calibration is needed (ProPILOT-equipped variants), the job is scheduled at a workshop so we can complete both the replacement and calibration properly — this ensures your safety features work correctly after the fit.

Yes. We match your exact original specification — green tint, rain sensors, acoustic interlayer, camera bracket, and any other features fitted to your variant. Your replacement glass is UK-approved for the road and matched at the parts check to ensure everything aligns correctly.
