Very Happy Customer

I needed a rear windscreen for my Peugeot after some swine decided to smash the previous one and the process could not have been simpler. The website was very easy to use and a full price was displayed within moments. Having decided to go ahead, I was phoned the next day by the local company to arrange the fit and Simon the fitter turned up bang on time. He completed the job quickly and without fuss, and I could not have been happier. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend UK Car Glass.

Friendly and professional

Excellent service all the way through. Easy to use website with a follow up call asking for any specifics. The Fitter was professional and friendly and arrived when arranged. Windscreen was fitted quickly but not with haste and a good job was done for a decent price. I would recommend UK Car Glass to others and, in the nicest possible way, hope I never have to use them again.

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Peugeot Partner rear window replacement

Rear window replacement with UKCG follows a simple, guided process from quote through to fitting.

  1. 1

Complete an instant online quote using our guided quiz — takes about 60 seconds. You'll describe your Partner's age, generation, and rear window features.

  2. 2

Our parts team verifies your exact glass specification and matches you with an approved fitter in your area.

  3. 3

Your fitter books a convenient time — mobile replacement at your address is our standard, or you can choose a workshop if you prefer.

  4. 4

On the day, your fitter replaces the rear window (typically 30–60 minutes of work) and removes accessible broken glass shards. A shattered rear window means shard cleanup is part of the job, but small pieces can lodge in places beyond immediate reach.

  5. 5

We recommend a professional valet afterwards for thorough interior detailing and any stubborn glass fragments.

  6. 6

Your replacement glass comes with a two-year warranty covering workmanship and glass quality.

Book in under two minutes via our online quote tool, or contact us for a bespoke discussion if your Partner has bespoke glass configurations.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Partner?

The Peugeot Partner's rear window is typically a straightforward replacement and can be fitted mobile at your address in most cases. Your chosen fitter will assess the job location and confirm whether mobile fitting is suitable — if access, weather, or the extent of shard cleanup suggests a workshop environment would be safer, the job can be rescheduled there.

Unlike windscreen replacements on camera-equipped vehicles, the Partner's rear window does not require ADAS calibration, so there's no technical reason a workshop is mandatory.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen11
    1994–2026

Heated rear windscreen with integrated wires clears mist and ice when you switch on the demister.

    What it means

A heated rear windscreen contains fine heating wires embedded within the glass. When you activate the rear demister, an electrical current passes through these wires, warming the glass and melting ice or condensation. This feature is particularly useful in cold or damp weather, improving rear visibility quickly. The heating grid is integral to the glass and connected to your vehicle's electrical circuit via connectors at the base of the windscreen.

    How to tell

Look at the rear windscreen from inside the vehicle — you will see a fine grid of horizontal lines across the glass, typically bronze or copper in colour. On the dashboard or steering wheel stalk, there will be a dedicated rear-demist button, usually marked with a windscreen symbol and heating lines. If in doubt, ask your vehicle's service centre or consult your handbook.

    Replacement impact

Replacement rear windscreens with heated grids are widely available as original-equipment aftermarket or dealership parts. The new glass must include the factory heating grid and electrical connectors intact. The technician will reconnect the heating circuit to your vehicle's rear-demist switch. Heated rear windscreens are bonded glass, so adhesive cure time applies; drive-away time will be confirmed by the fitter on the day.

  • Green9
    1994–2026

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Clear6
    1994–2008Calibration varies by vehicle

Clear windscreen glass has no tint; most cars have a slight tint as standard.

    What it means

A clear windscreen contains no added tint layer. Most modern windscreens incorporate a subtle tint (typically blue, green, grey or bronze) as standard to reduce glare, provide UV protection, and improve cabin comfort. A genuinely clear windscreen is the absence of this tint. Clear glass is less common than tinted variants and is sometimes specified for aesthetic or operational reasons, though the tint difference is usually imperceptible to the naked eye.

    How to tell

Lower your side window halfway and hold a white piece of paper behind it. If you see a noticeable colour cast (blue, green, grey or bronze) in the side glass, your windscreen has the same tint. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre to confirm the windscreen specification in your service records.

    Replacement impact

Clear windscreen replacement uses the same installation process as any other windscreen. No special calibration or extended cure time applies. Sourcing is straightforward — clear glass is widely available as an aftermarket replacement. Installation time and drive-away restrictions follow standard windscreen replacement timings.

  • Unheated Rear Windscreen5
    1996–2026

A rear window without heating elements — selected when the model's standard specification includes a heated rear glass option.

    What it means

An unheated rear window is a variant specification where the rear glass does not include integrated electric heating wires. Many vehicle models offer heated rear glass as standard or as an option to demist the window quickly in cold or wet conditions. An unheated rear window omits this feature entirely. It is a cost-conscious choice and remains fully functional for visibility and weather protection — demisting simply takes longer and relies on the vehicle's cabin heating system alone.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or service documentation. If your model range lists 'heated rear window' or 'rear demister' as a standard or optional feature and your car does not have it, you have an unheated variant. You can also look at the rear window itself — a heated rear window shows a faint pattern of horizontal heating wires when you look closely at the glass. An unheated window appears completely clear with no wire pattern visible.

    Replacement impact

Replacement glass must match your original specification. If your vehicle has an unheated rear window, the replacement must also be unheated — you cannot fit a heated variant without additional wiring and control-module work, which falls outside standard glass replacement scope. Conversely, if heated glass is standard for your model and you wish to stay unheated, confirm this choice at booking. No calibration is involved with rear-window replacement.

  • Solar Control3
    2008–2026

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

  • Green Privacy1
    2008–2026

Dark green tint on rear and side windows is a factory colour choice, not a safety or performance feature.

    What it means

Dark green is a factory tint applied to the glass during manufacture. It's purely aesthetic — a colour variant chosen by the vehicle designer to complement the body paint and interior trim. Unlike some tints that reduce solar heat or glare, dark green is decorative. Most vehicles have standard or light green glass; dark green is less common and typically found on specific trim levels or model years.

    How to tell

Look at your rear and side windows from outside the car in daylight. If they appear noticeably darker or more saturated green than the front windscreen, you likely have dark green glass. You can also check your vehicle's specification sheet from the dealer or original documentation — tint colour is sometimes listed under 'glass' or 'exterior finishes'. If uncertain, ask your local dealership service centre.

    Replacement impact

Dark green replacement glass must match the original tint colour exactly — a standard or light green windscreen will look visibly mismatched against dark green rear windows. Sourcing the correct variant can take slightly longer than standard glass, as it's less common. No calibration is involved with tinted glass itself. Fitting and cure time are unaffected.

About the Peugeot Partner

The Peugeot Partner has been in continuous production since 1994, serving as a practical light commercial vehicle across multiple generations. Early variants carry straightforward toughened rear windows, whilst later generations introduce green-tinted glass and optional heating elements on certain trim levels.

From the mid-2010s onwards, higher-specification variants began featuring optional heated rear windows and enhanced glass coatings. Recent Partner models continue this evolution, with some variants offering privacy glass or integrated features in the rear window specification.
