Volkswagen Taigo windscreen price, by year

Replacement costs vary based on the specification of your Taigo. Models equipped with acoustic glass or camera-based driver assistance typically carry higher calibration and sourcing costs than base variants.

Earlier Taigos without camera systems are generally more straightforward to replace, while newer examples with ADAS features may require static camera calibration, which involves workshop-based setup.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Volkswagen Taigo windscreen replacement

Booking your Taigo windscreen replacement through UKCG is straightforward and takes just a few minutes.

  1. 1

Answer a short quiz about your Taigo's model year and features—typically completed in under a minute—to identify your exact glass specification.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote and choose your preferred fitting date and location (mobile at home or at a workshop).

  3. 3

Our parts team carries out a final verification of your glass variant to ensure a perfect match for your vehicle.

  4. 4

A fitter from our network is matched to your booking and confirmed with you before the job.

  5. 5

On the day, your technician arrives at your chosen location and fits the replacement windscreen, typically completing the work within a couple of hours.

  6. 6

If your Taigo has a camera system, static calibration is carried out after the glass sets, and your fitter confirms the minimum drive-away time before you leave.

All replacement glass is backed by a two-year warranty covering workmanship and glass quality.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Taigo?

Most Taigo windscreen replacements can be fitted at your home or chosen location with a mobile fitter. However, if your model is equipped with a camera system for driver assistance, static calibration is required after the glass is installed.

This calibration must take place at a workshop with target boards and specialist equipment. For camera-equipped models, your booking will be scheduled at an approved workshop location to ensure the entire job—replacement and calibration—is completed in one visit.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

About the Volkswagen Taigo

The Volkswagen Taigo is a compact crossover that entered the UK market in 2021, blending urban practicality with a raised driving position. All Taigo windscreens feature green-tinted laminated glass as standard, designed to filter UV and reduce cabin heat.

Every variant comes equipped with a rain sensor, allowing wipers to activate automatically when moisture is detected. The VIN notch—a small box printed along the bottom edge displaying the vehicle's chassis number—is present on all models, aiding identification during replacement.

Approximately half of the Taigo range incorporates acoustic interlayer technology to dampen road and wind noise, creating a quieter cabin experience. Some models also feature a forward-facing camera mounted behind the windscreen, part of the driver assistance package.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

Some Taigo variants include a forward-facing camera as part of the driver assistance suite. If your model has one, it will be repositioned during the windscreen replacement and then recalibrated using static target boards at a workshop.

Calibration runs in parallel with the adhesive cure, so it doesn't extend your drive-away time. Your fitter will confirm the specific drive-away window before releasing the vehicle.

Acoustic interlayer glass is available on approximately half of the Taigo range, typically on higher-specification models and certain trim levels. Your exact variant will be confirmed during the quote process, and your replacement glass will match your factory specification.

Technician time typically runs 45–90 minutes depending on whether your model requires camera calibration. Non-camera models are usually quicker, while camera-equipped Taigos take longer due to the static calibration process after the glass is set.

Your fitter will confirm the total duration and minimum drive-away time on the day.

During the replacement, the rain-sensor and camera-bracket components are carefully removed and reinstalled on the new windscreen. If your model has a camera, post-replacement calibration ensures it's aligned correctly for your vehicle's safety systems.

If damage is discovered that can't be resolved during the fit, your fitter will advise you before proceeding.
