Volkswagen Arteon windscreen price, by year

Pricing varies primarily with generation and ADAS equipment. Earlier Arteon variants without cameras or advanced sensors are typically the most straightforward replacements. Models with front cameras and sensor systems carry higher calibration costs because static calibration must be completed after the glass is fitted — this is included in your quote and scheduled as a single workshop visit.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Volkswagen Arteon windscreen replacement

Here's how your Volkswagen Arteon windscreen replacement unfolds from booking to the road.

  1. 1

Book your quote through our online widget in under 60 seconds — select your Arteon's year, specification, and features.

  2. 2

Our parts team verifies the exact windscreen variant for your model, checking for acoustic layers, rain sensors, camera brackets, and calibration needs.

  3. 3

You're matched with an approved specialist in your area who stocks the correct replacement glass and has the equipment for any ADAS calibration.

  4. 4

On fitting day, your technician replaces the windscreen (typically involving 45–90 minutes of their time) and, if your Arteon has a camera system, completes static calibration indoors afterwards.

  5. 5

You're given a confirmed minimum drive-away time before leaving, and your vehicle is covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Every Arteon replacement is backed by two years' warranty, with claims handled direct through UKCG.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Arteon?

Most Volkswagen Arteon windscreen replacements can be carried out at your home or workplace. However, if your Arteon is equipped with a forward-facing camera for driver assistance — which affects roughly half of the current lineup — static calibration is required indoors after the glass is fitted.

In these cases, the entire job is scheduled at a workshop to avoid splitting the replacement and calibration across locations. This keeps you in control and ensures calibration is actually completed. Calibration runs in parallel with adhesive cure, so it doesn't extend your drive-away time.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your Arteon have?

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)5
    2017–2026

On the Volkswagen Arteon: fitted on every one of the 5 windscreen variants we list; model years 2017–2026.

    What it means

Laminated interlayer reduces road and wind noise, a comfort standard across the Arteon range.

    On your Volkswagen Arteon

Standard on all 2017+ Arteon variants — no option to specify; your replacement will include this.

  • Rain Sensor5
    2017–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Volkswagen Arteon: fitted on every one of the 5 windscreen variants we list; model years 2017–2026; no calibration after replacement.

    What it means

Automatic wiper activation when moisture is detected on the windscreen.

    On your Volkswagen Arteon

Standard on most Arteon variants from 2017 onwards — confirmed during the parts check.

  • Vin Notch5
    2017–2026

On the Volkswagen Arteon: fitted on every one of the 5 windscreen variants we list; model years 2017–2026.

A printed VIN reference box along the bottom edge of your windscreen helps identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

    What it means

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) notch is a small printed or etched box positioned along the lower edge of the windscreen that displays your vehicle's chassis number. This reference marking is a manufacturing and administrative feature, allowing quick visual identification of the vehicle without needing to consult documents. It's particularly useful for service records, insurance claims, and vehicle registration purposes. The notch itself doesn't affect the structural integrity or safety performance of the glass.

    How to tell

Look along the bottom edge of your windscreen — typically in one of the lower corners — for a small rectangular box containing printed digits or characters. If you're uncertain, check your vehicle's service handbook or ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your model includes this feature.

    Replacement impact

When your windscreen is replaced, the new glass will retain the VIN notch printed or etched by the manufacturer. This is a standard feature on replacement windscreens for compatible vehicles and requires no additional work or adjustment. The notch does not affect glass fitting, cure time, or any post-replacement calibration procedures.

  • Bracket For Safety Features4
    2017–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Volkswagen Arteon: fitted on 4 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (80%); model years 2017–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

The moulded trim that surrounds your camera and sensor cluster at the top of the windscreen, typically transferred or supplied with replacement glass.

    What it means

A bracket for safety features is the moulded plastic or composite shroud that sits at the top of the windscreen, framing and protecting the camera and sensor cluster mounted behind the rear-view mirror. This trim cover houses forward-facing driver-assistance cameras and sensors — equipment that monitors the road ahead for lane-keeping, collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and similar safety functions. The bracket itself is part of the vehicle's structural frame, but the trim cover you see is what protects and aesthetically integrates the technology into the windscreen area.

    How to tell

Look at the top centre of your windscreen, just above or around the rear-view mirror. If you see a dark moulded shroud or trim panel — often rectangular or tapered — with a visible lens or sensor window, your vehicle has a bracket for safety features. Your service history or handbook will list any ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technologies fitted. Ask your dealer or service centre if your vehicle has forward-facing cameras or sensors; if it does, you have a bracket for safety features.

    Replacement impact

On windscreen replacement, the trim cover is typically transferred from your old glass to the new one, or supplied pre-integrated with the replacement depending on the variant. This means minimal disruption to your safety system during the swap. However, if the bracket requires recalibration after glass replacement — which depends on your specific vehicle and camera type — the job may require static calibration (using a target board) or dynamic calibration (a road drive). We confirm the exact calibration procedure when we look up your vehicle.

  • Mono Camera4
    2017–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Volkswagen Arteon: fitted on 4 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (80%); model years 2017–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

A single camera mounted near the rear-view mirror that helps with lane-keeping and collision avoidance.

    What it means

A mono camera is a single-lens camera positioned behind the windscreen, typically in the upper centre area near the rear-view mirror. It captures the road ahead and uses computer vision to detect lane markings, vehicles, and road hazards. The camera feeds data to driver-assistance systems such as lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning. It forms the visual foundation of these safety features, allowing the vehicle to monitor road position and surrounding traffic automatically.

    How to tell

Look in the black trim area above the windscreen, centred behind the rear-view mirror — you will see a small triangular lens assembly or dark lens cover. Check your vehicle handbook or ask your dealer's service department to confirm your model has lane-assistance or collision-warning features; vehicles with these systems almost always have a mono camera. Dashboard warning symbols related to lane or collision systems also indicate the presence of this camera.

    Replacement impact

When the windscreen is replaced, the camera bracket and lens assembly must be removed and carefully repositioned on the new glass. The camera may require calibration after fitting to ensure accurate road detection and lane recognition. Calibration needs vary by vehicle — we confirm the exact procedure when we look up your specific vehicle. The job may take longer than a standard windscreen replacement, and workshop facilities may be required if calibration demands a controlled environment.

  • Sensor Heated Zone4
    2017–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Volkswagen Arteon: fitted on 4 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (80%); model years 2017–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

Heated zones around sensors prevent frost and moisture buildup, helping your safety systems work reliably.

    What it means

A sensor heated zone is an electrical heating element integrated into or around camera, radar, or sensor mounts on the windscreen. Its purpose is to prevent frost, ice, condensation, and moisture accumulation on sensor lenses and housings. This keeps safety systems — such as lane-keeping assist, collision warning, and adaptive cruise control — functioning accurately in cold, wet, or foggy conditions. Without this heating, moisture or ice can obscure sensors and cause them to malfunction or deactivate.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook for mention of 'heated sensor zone' or 'sensor heating' in the windscreen or ADAS section. Look at the top edge of your windscreen where cameras or radar modules are mounted — you may see small heating elements or wiring near these components. Ask your dealership or service centre directly: they can confirm whether your specific model includes sensor heating as standard.

    Replacement impact

Windscreens with heated sensor zones require careful handling during replacement to preserve the heating element and its electrical connections. The heating circuit must be reconnected properly after the new glass is fitted. Depending on the vehicle, this may involve static or dynamic camera calibration after installation. We confirm the exact procedure — including any calibration needs — when we look up your vehicle details.

  • Static Camera Calibration Process4
    2017–2026Static calibration required

On the Volkswagen Arteon: fitted on 4 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (80%); model years 2017–2026; static calibration required.

    What it means

Printed targets are positioned in front of the car and a diagnostic tool realigns the camera indoors after the windscreen is fitted.

    On your Volkswagen Arteon

If your Arteon has a forward camera, calibration is required and scheduled at a workshop as part of your single-location booking.

  • Green3
    2017–2026

On the Volkswagen Arteon: fitted on 3 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (60%); model years 2017–2026.

    What it means

A subtle greenish tint to reduce solar heat and UV, often hard to spot but present on about half of all Arteons.

    On your Volkswagen Arteon

Confirmed during the parts check — your replacement matches the exact tint of your original.

  • Coating2
    2017–2023

On the Volkswagen Arteon: fitted on 2 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (40%); model years 2017–2023.

Coated windscreens have a blue or purple tint and protect your car from UV rays and heat.

    What it means

A coated windscreen has a special protective layer applied to the glass that appears as a blue or purple tint and often reflects a silvery-blue colour in bright sunlight. This coating is designed to reduce the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation and solar heat that enters the vehicle, helping to keep the interior cooler and protecting upholstery and dashboard components from UV damage and fading. The coating is integral to the glass and doesn't require any special maintenance from you.

    How to tell

Look at your windscreen in bright daylight — a coated windscreen will show a distinct blue or purple tint and a silvery-blue reflection when the sun hits it directly. Check your vehicle's service booklet or window sticker (usually on the driver's door jamb), which may list the glass specification. Alternatively, ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your windscreen carries a UV or heat-rejection coating.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a coated windscreen, the replacement glass must match the original specification — including the coating type and tint level — to maintain the same UV and heat protection and to preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Original-equipment or equivalent aftermarket coated glass is sourced to specification. The coating is applied during glass manufacture; no post-fit treatment is required. Fitting and cure times are unaffected by the presence of the coating.

  • Heated Coating2
    2017–2023

On the Volkswagen Arteon: fitted on 2 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (40%); model years 2017–2023.

    What it means

A transparent conductive layer across the windscreen provides even heating without visible wires, typically on higher-trim models.

    On your Volkswagen Arteon

Standard on selected Arteon trim levels — the replacement must carry the same coating so the heating circuit functions.

  • Heat Reflective2
    2017–2023

On the Volkswagen Arteon: fitted on 2 of the 5 windscreen variants we list (40%); model years 2017–2023.

Heat-reflective tinting reduces solar gain and cabin temperature, often visible as a darker shade near the windscreen's top edge.

    What it means

Heat-reflective tinting is a specially formulated layer applied to the windscreen—usually concentrated in the upper band near the black dots (the frit)—designed to reflect solar radiation and reduce heat buildup inside the vehicle. This helps maintain cabin comfort, reduces air-conditioning load, and can protect interior materials from UV damage. The tint is typically darker or noticeably different in colour than the front side windows, which remain clear or lightly tinted.

    How to tell

Look at your windscreen from inside the vehicle and compare the tint colour to your front side windows. Heat-reflective windscreens often have a visibly darker or warmer tone, especially in the upper portion within 2 cm of the black-dot edge (the frit). You can also check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your model includes heat-reflective glazing.

    Replacement impact

Replacement windscreens with heat-reflective tinting must be sourced to the exact specification of your original glass—aftermarket equivalents are available but must match the tint density and reflective properties. The tinting is integral to the glass itself and cannot be applied afterwards. No calibration is required. The windscreen is bonded in place and cure time applies as standard.

About the Volkswagen Arteon

The Volkswagen Arteon is a midsize saloon produced since 2017, representing VW's answer to the executive car segment. All current Arteon windscreens feature laminated construction with encapsulation — the rubber trim is bonded to the glass at the factory, so your fitter replaces the panel and trim as a single unit.

Acoustic interlayers have been standard across the range since launch, reducing road and wind noise. Most Arteon variants from 2017 onwards carry rain sensors for automatic wiper activation, and about half the lineup includes a front-facing camera for advanced driver assistance features.

Variants equipped with camera systems require static calibration after windscreen replacement — targets are positioned in front of the vehicle and a diagnostic tool aligns the camera indoors. This is handled at a workshop and is factored into the booking on the day.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

If your model year includes a forward-facing camera in the black band at the top of the windscreen, yes — static calibration is required. This is confirmed during the parts check when you book, and the calibration is scheduled as part of your single workshop visit, not as a separate trip.

Calibration itself doesn't add to your overall drive-away time because it runs in parallel with the adhesive cure. Your technician will confirm the minimum drive-away time before you leave.

Yes. Arteon windscreens are encapsulated — the rubber trim is bonded to the glass at the factory. Your replacement arrives with the trim already fitted, and it's replaced as a single unit matching your original specification.

If your Arteon has a camera system and needs calibration, the job is scheduled at a workshop so calibration can be completed indoors on the same day. If your variant doesn't have a camera, mobile fitting at your home or workplace is the default option — though you can always request a workshop visit if you prefer.
