Volkswagen Amarok windscreen price, by year

Price variation across Amarok generations reflects the introduction of rain sensors, solar-control glass, and camera-based driver assistance on newer models. Earlier 2010s variants without these features tend to be more affordable, while recent models with ADAS systems require workshop-based calibration after replacement, adding complexity.

Acoustic glass, available on select trims, also influences the final quote. Specialists on our network will confirm your exact specification during the parts check.

Checking the small print

This is good value and excellent service. Having checked my insurance to find the word "glass"only covered the windscreen, I went to the default "A" listed glass replacement mob, and having fallen off my chair being quoted almost double what I ended up paying, this company was a real blessing. Can't thank Mark enough for his help.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Volkswagen Amarok windscreen replacement

Booking your Amarok windscreen replacement through UK Car Glass takes minutes and follows a straightforward process.

  1. 1

Use the online widget to select your Amarok's year, generation, and features — your specification is confirmed in under 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Complete your booking online in under two minutes, choosing your preferred appointment date and location (mobile at your address or a local workshop).

  3. 3

Our parts-check team verify your exact windscreen variant and any ADAS calibration requirements before your fitting day.

  4. 4

On the day, your matched technician arrives with the correct replacement glass and completes the fit — typically 45–90 minutes of their time for a windscreen, depending on your variant and whether calibration is needed.

  5. 5

If your Amarok has a front camera system, static calibration is completed as part of the job; your technician confirms the minimum drive-away time before you leave.

  6. 6

Your replacement carries a two-year warranty covering workmanship and glass quality — supported by pre- and post-fit documentation.

From quote to fitted glass, the entire process is transparent, tracked, and backed by your warranty and access to our network.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Amarok?

Most Amarok windscreen replacements can be completed mobile at your address or workplace. However, if your variant includes a front-facing camera system for driver assistance, static calibration is required after the glass is fitted.

When calibration is needed, the entire job — replacement and calibration — is scheduled at a workshop to ensure the system is properly aligned and tested. This delivers better accuracy than a split appointment and keeps the process straightforward. Calibration runs in parallel with adhesive cure, so it doesn't add to your drive-away time.

  • Light Sensor2
    2012–2026

On the Volkswagen Amarok: fitted on 2 of the 4 windscreen variants we list (50%); model years 2012–2026.

Light sensors automatically turn your headlights on at dusk or in tunnels; the replacement windscreen must include the sensor bracket.

    What it means

A light sensor is a small optical detector mounted on the windscreen or dashboard that monitors ambient light levels. When light drops below a threshold—at dusk or when entering a tunnel—it triggers your headlights to switch on automatically. This removes the need to manually operate the lights and improves safety by ensuring visibility when conditions darken suddenly. The sensor is typically mounted behind the windscreen's top edge or integrated into the interior mirror housing, where it has an unobstructed view of the sky.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or ask your dealer whether your car has automatic headlight control or 'auto lights' as a feature. If equipped, you'll see a symbol on the stalk or dashboard dial marked with a light-bulb icon or 'AUTO' setting. When you select this mode and the ambient light dims, the headlights activate without manual input. Not all cars have this feature; it's typically found on newer or higher-specification models.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen on a vehicle with a light sensor, the replacement glass must include the correct sensor bracket or mounting point to preserve the auto-headlight function. The sensor itself does not require software calibration—it relies on physical positioning behind the windscreen's upper trim or within the mirror assembly. Ensuring the bracket is correctly installed during the fit is essential; if omitted, the auto-light feature will fail and cannot be restored without additional parts and labour.

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)1
    2022–2026

On the Volkswagen Amarok: fitted on 1 of the 4 windscreen variants we list (25%); model years 2022–2026.

    What it means

A sound-dampening interlayer in the windscreen that reduces road and wind noise, enhancing cabin comfort on longer drives.

    On your Volkswagen Amarok

Available on higher-specification and newer Amarok trims. Look for 'Acoustic' or 'SoundScreen' branding on the glass; your quote confirms if your variant includes it.

  • Camera1
    2022–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Volkswagen Amarok: fitted on 1 of the 4 windscreen variants we list (25%); model years 2022–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A front-facing camera system mounted behind the windscreen near the rear-view mirror, used for lane-keeping assistance and adaptive cruise control.

    On your Volkswagen Amarok

Present on select recent Amarok models with advanced driver-assistance packs. If your variant includes a camera, static calibration is completed after your windscreen is fitted — scheduled at a workshop to ensure accuracy.

  • Heated Windscreen1
    2022–2026

On the Volkswagen Amarok: fitted on 1 of the 4 windscreen variants we list (25%); model years 2022–2026.

Heated windscreens use embedded wires to quickly clear ice and condensation in cold weather.

    What it means

A heated windscreen is integrated with a fine mesh of electrical wires embedded within the glass itself. When activated, these wires generate heat to warm the windscreen surface, helping to rapidly clear frost, ice, and condensation during cold or damp conditions. This feature improves visibility and safety in winter driving and reduces reliance on engine heat and demister air, which can be slower on very cold mornings.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or contact your dealership service centre — they can confirm whether your model includes this feature. Look for a dashboard symbol (usually a windscreen icon with heat waves) when you activate the function, or check your infotainment settings for a heating or climate option linked to the windscreen. Some vehicles have a dedicated button on the stalk or console.

    Replacement impact

Heated windscreens require replacement glass to be of the correct heated specification — standard unheated glass cannot be fitted. The replacement glass must be sourced to match your vehicle's exact heated-wire configuration. Installation is straightforward, though the technician will confirm the heating element is functioning correctly after fitting. No calibration is required for this feature.

About the Volkswagen Amarok

The Volkswagen Amarok is a robust mid-size pickup truck in continuous production since 2010, built on a platform shared with the Ford Ranger until the second generation arrived in 2023. Early models carry straightforward laminated windscreens with VIN notches and green tint as standard.

From the mid-2010s onwards, many Amarok variants gained rain sensors and solar-control glass to help manage cabin heat — increasingly common on higher-spec trims and later model years. A smaller subset of recent models introduced front-facing camera systems for driver-assistance features, which require static calibration after windscreen replacement.

The Amarok's working-truck heritage means most variants prioritise durability over luxury glass options, though acoustic interlayers appear on some specification levels to reduce road and wind noise.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

Only if your variant includes a front-facing camera system for driver assistance. During your online quote, the widget will identify whether your specific Amarok requires calibration. If it does, your technician will complete it as part of the replacement job at a workshop, using pre- and post-scan diagnostics to confirm everything is working correctly.

Earlier Amarok models (2010s) typically carry straightforward laminated windscreens with basic features. From the mid-2010s onwards, rain sensors and solar-control coatings became more common, especially on higher trims. The newest generation (2023+) introduced camera-based driver assistance on select variants, which requires post-replacement calibration.

Your exact specification is identified during the online quote and confirmed by our parts-check team, so you'll know upfront whether calibration or any premium glass features apply to your vehicle.

Yes — all Amarok windscreens are laminated for structural safety and to support airbag deployment. This is standard across the entire production range. The laminate may include additional features like acoustic dampening, rain-sensor wiring, or solar-control coating depending on your trim, but the core glass type is always laminated.

Your technician typically spends 45–90 minutes on the windscreen itself, depending on your variant and whether camera calibration is involved. If calibration is required, it runs in parallel with adhesive cure, so you can drive away once the fitter confirms the minimum wait time — usually a few hours.
