Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

Up/Down Door Glass Replacement

Booked the job online Wednesday morning (process was easy), booked in, glass sourced and completed at my home address Friday morning (at a very competitive rate) - Great service! Note: UKCG subcontract your work out to local businesses. So go and give your local fitter a review aswell

What to expect during your Porsche Panamera windscreen replacement

Booking a Panamera windscreen replacement through UKCG follows a straightforward four-stage process.

  1. 1

Complete our quick online quote via a guided variant quiz — takes about a minute to identify your exact glass specification.

  2. 2

Review the instant quote and book a time that suits you — mobile fitting at your address is available for most jobs.

  3. 3

Your local technician will carry out the replacement, typically within 45–90 minutes of their active time depending on the variant and any ADAS calibration required.

  4. 4

If your Panamera has a forward-facing camera system, calibration is completed at a workshop in a controlled environment to align the sensor precisely.

  5. 5

Your fitter confirms the minimum drive-away time before you leave, and your replacement is covered by a two-year warranty against workmanship and glass defects.

From quote to fitted windscreen, the process is designed to be fast, transparent, and backed by our network of specialists across the UK.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Panamera?

Most Panamera windscreen replacements are fitted at your address as a mobile service. However, if your model is camera-equipped, the required static calibration must take place indoors at a workshop in a controlled environment, so the entire job — replacement and calibration — is scheduled at a workshop location.

This ensures the forward camera is aligned to Porsche's factory tolerances and that safety systems operate reliably. Calibration runs in parallel with adhesive cure, so it doesn't extend the time before you can drive away.

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)1
    2009–2026

On the Porsche Panamera: fitted on every one of the 1 windscreen variant we list; model years 2009–2026.

    What it means

Acoustic glass dampens exterior noise and wind roar, creating a quieter cabin — look for the word 'Acoustic' or an ear symbol on the glass edge.

    On your Porsche Panamera

Standard on all Panamera windscreens in our current range; confirmed during the parts-check phase of your booking.

  • Green1
    2009–2026

On the Porsche Panamera: fitted on every one of the 1 windscreen variant we list; model years 2009–2026.

    What it means

A subtle green tint in the glass is standard on most Panameras — it's often invisible to the naked eye but a genuine part of the factory specification.

    On your Porsche Panamera

Confirmed during the variant identification phase; the replacement glass matches your factory tint precisely.

  • Grey Sun Strip1
    2009–2026

On the Porsche Panamera: fitted on every one of the 1 windscreen variant we list; model years 2009–2026.

    What it means

A grey-tinted gradient band at the top of the windscreen reduces glare from bright overhead sunlight without compromising visibility — an integral part of the laminated glass.

    On your Porsche Panamera

Present on all Panamera windscreens in the catalogue; the replacement glass matches your factory specification exactly.

  • Rain Sensor1
    2009–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Porsche Panamera: fitted on every one of the 1 windscreen variant we list; model years 2009–2026; no calibration after replacement.

    What it means

A rain sensor behind the windscreen automatically activates your wipers when moisture is detected, improving convenience and safety in wet conditions.

    On your Porsche Panamera

Fitted to all Panamera models covered by UKCG; sensor sensitivity is preserved during replacement.

  • Vin Notch1
    2009–2026

On the Porsche Panamera: fitted on every one of the 1 windscreen variant we list; model years 2009–2026.

A printed VIN reference box along the bottom edge of your windscreen helps identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

    What it means

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) notch is a small printed or etched box positioned along the lower edge of the windscreen that displays your vehicle's chassis number. This reference marking is a manufacturing and administrative feature, allowing quick visual identification of the vehicle without needing to consult documents. It's particularly useful for service records, insurance claims, and vehicle registration purposes. The notch itself doesn't affect the structural integrity or safety performance of the glass.

    How to tell

Look along the bottom edge of your windscreen — typically in one of the lower corners — for a small rectangular box containing printed digits or characters. If you're uncertain, check your vehicle's service handbook or ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your model includes this feature.

    Replacement impact

When your windscreen is replaced, the new glass will retain the VIN notch printed or etched by the manufacturer. This is a standard feature on replacement windscreens for compatible vehicles and requires no additional work or adjustment. The notch does not affect glass fitting, cure time, or any post-replacement calibration procedures.

About the Porsche Panamera

The Porsche Panamera has been in continuous production since 2009, evolving through multiple generations as Porsche's four-seater grand tourer. Early models carry straightforward laminated windscreens with rain sensors and a grey sun strip, while later variants introduced more sophisticated glass technology.

From the mid-2010s onwards, higher-specification Panameras began incorporating camera systems for advanced driver assistance. These camera-equipped variants require static calibration after windscreen replacement, which is carried out indoors at a workshop to ensure sensor alignment meets Porsche's safety standards.
