The Mazda 2 has been in continuous production since 2003, evolving through multiple generations with steady improvements to glass specification and cabin technology.
Early models feature straightforward laminated windscreens with minimal trim features, while later variants from the mid-2010s onwards increasingly carry rain sensors, acoustic interlayers for noise reduction, and green-tinted glass as standard. Most current Mazda 2s arrive with pre-fitted fitting hardware bonded into the glass for a secure seal.
From around the late 2010s, i-ACTIVSENSE camera systems became more prevalent on higher-spec variants, introducing front-facing windscreen cameras for lane departure warning and collision mitigation. When a camera-equipped Mazda 2 requires windscreen replacement, static camera calibration is completed after the glass is set.
