Citroen DS3 windscreen price, by year

Price variation reflects the vehicle's generation and equipment level. Earlier models (2010–2014) without cameras are typically more affordable, while later DS3s from 2015 onwards with acoustic glass or camera-based safety features command higher replacement costs due to increased glass specification and potential calibration requirements.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Citroen DS3 windscreen replacement

Booking your DS3 windscreen replacement is straightforward — here's what happens from quote to the road.

  1. 1

Answer a quick online quiz to identify your exact variant — takes about a minute, no registration needed.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote tailored to your DS3's features (acoustic glass, rain sensor, camera bracket, etc.).

  3. 3

Book online and choose mobile or workshop fitting — most jobs happen at your address.

  4. 4

Your matched technician arrives with the correct replacement glass and fits it in around an hour; if your DS3 has a camera, static calibration runs in parallel.

  5. 5

Your fitter confirms the drive-away time based on the adhesive used — typically the same whether or not calibration was needed.

  6. 6

You're covered by a two-year warranty on both workmanship and glass quality.

From booking to driving away, the whole process is designed to be quick, transparent, and backed by our network of trusted technicians.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your DS3?

Most DS3 windscreen replacements happen at your address via mobile fitting — quick, convenient, and minimally disruptive. However, if your DS3 is equipped with a forward-facing camera for driver assistance, the technician may recommend a workshop slot so static camera calibration can be completed safely under controlled conditions.

When calibration is required, the entire job (replacement and calibration) is scheduled in one location — typically the workshop — ensuring safety-critical setup is properly documented and verified before you drive away.

Look for one or two triangular shapes in the black field near the rear-view mirror; present on some 2015–2019 models with safety packs.

  • LIDAR1
    2014–2019Bespoke calibration

On the Citroen DS3: fitted on 1 of the 4 windscreen variants we list (25%); model years 2014–2019; bespoke calibration.

LIDAR helps your car sense its surroundings for advanced safety and driver-assistance features.

    What it means

LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a sensor technology that uses laser beams to detect objects, obstacles, and road features in three dimensions. It creates a detailed map of the vehicle's surroundings in real time, enabling advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance, and autonomous emergency braking. LIDAR complements camera and radar systems by providing precise distance and depth information, even in poor visibility or low-light conditions. It is increasingly fitted to modern vehicles as part of their safety and autonomous-capability infrastructure.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or contact your dealership to confirm LIDAR fitment. LIDAR sensors are typically mounted on the roof, bumpers, or within the windscreen/rear-window frame area. You may see reference to 'LIDAR', 'laser radar', or specific safety-feature names (e.g. 'adaptive cruise control', 'autonomous emergency braking') that rely on LIDAR in your documentation.

    Replacement impact

If your windscreen or rear window houses or frames a LIDAR sensor, replacement requires careful handling to preserve or recalibrate the sensor post-fit. LIDAR calibration procedures vary significantly by vehicle make, model, and year—some require static alignment using specialist target equipment, others demand dynamic road-drive procedures, and some use a combination. We identify the exact calibration requirement when we look up your specific vehicle and confirm it with you before booking.

  • Solar Control1
    2010–2019

On the Citroen DS3: fitted on 1 of the 4 windscreen variants we list (25%); model years 2010–2019.

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

About the Citroen DS3

The Citroën DS3 was produced from 2010 to 2019, delivering a stylish compact car across two generations. All variants feature an encapsulated windscreen with green tinting and a VIN notch at the base.

From the mid-2010s onwards, acoustic laminated glass became available on higher-specification models, reducing cabin noise. Rain sensors were also introduced on select trims to enable automatic wiper activation in wet weather.

The final generation (2015–2019) saw some models equipped with forward-facing camera systems for driver assistance features, requiring a bracket mounted behind the windscreen and professional recalibration after replacement.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

Only some DS3 variants from 2015–2019 carry a forward-facing camera for driver assistance features. During your online quote, we identify whether your specific model has one. If it does, the replacement includes a camera bracket and requires professional static calibration after the glass is fitted — this extends the technician's time on the job but doesn't add to your drive-away time because calibration runs in parallel with adhesive cure.

Around three-quarters of our catalogued DS3 models carry acoustic laminated glass, particularly higher trims and later years. Your exact variant is identified during the quote, and your replacement will match your factory specification — acoustic if your original was, standard if it wasn't.

About half of DS3 models feature an integrated rain sensor that triggers automatic wipers. The sensor is built into the windscreen itself, so your replacement glass will arrive with the sensor pre-fitted — no additional setup needed.

Typically around 45–90 minutes of active fitting time, depending on your DS3's condition and whether camera calibration is required. Your technician will confirm the exact drive-away time based on the adhesive and conditions on the day — you'll be ready to drive sooner than you might expect.
