Nissan Murano rear window price, by year

Pricing for rear-window replacement on the Murano is largely consistent across the 2004–2009 range, as this generation had a single rear-window variant. Variation is minimal because there are no ADAS systems, acoustic upgrades, or thermal-control options on the rear glass for this era — the main driver of cost difference is the fitter's location and their glass supplier's availability.

Year Price range Quote
2009 £948 £948 Price my 2009
2008 £948 £948 Price my 2008
2007 £948 £948 Price my 2007
2006 £948 £948 Price my 2006
2005 £948 £948 Price my 2005
2004 £948 £948 Price my 2004

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older Muranos can still be booked.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Nissan Murano rear window replacement

Booking your rear-window replacement takes just a couple of minutes online, and the fit itself is typically straightforward.

  1. 1

Complete a quick online quote using our widget — you'll tell us your vehicle details and confirm the damage.

  2. 2

Our parts-check team verifies the exact rear-window specification and confirms availability with fitters in your area.

  3. 3

You're matched with an approved fitter near you who has the replacement glass ready.

  4. 4

On fitting day, your fitter arrives at your chosen location (mobile at home or at a workshop) and removes the damaged rear window, clearing accessible glass shards during the process.

  5. 5

The new toughened rear window is fitted securely using the pre-fitted hardware, typically completing within 30–60 minutes of the fitter's time.

  6. 6

Your fitter confirms the fit is sound before departing. We recommend a professional interior valet afterwards to ensure any fine shards lodged in hard-to-reach places are properly cleaned.

Your replacement is covered by a two-year warranty on both workmanship and glass quality.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Murano?

The 2004–2009 Nissan Murano does not carry ADAS systems requiring camera calibration, so rear-window replacement is a straightforward mobile job. Your fitter can complete the work at your home, workplace, or a workshop location — whichever suits you. Weather and accessibility may influence the choice, but there's no technical reason to insist on a workshop visit for this model.

  • Grey Privacy1
    2004–2009

Dark grey tint on rear windows provides privacy and reduces interior heat and glare.

    What it means

Dark grey tint, formally known as privacy glass, is a factory-applied tint created through a deep-dipping process during glass manufacture. The pigment is infused into the inner surface of the glass, darkening the rear windows (and sometimes rear doors) significantly more than the front. This reduces heat transmission, minimises glare, and obscures the interior from outside view. It's standard on the rear half of many modern vehicles.

    How to tell

Compare the rear side windows and rear window (backlight) to the front side windows — the rear glass will be noticeably darker. Check your vehicle documents or ask your dealership service centre if you're unsure whether your car left the factory with privacy glass.

    Replacement impact

Dark grey tinted glass must be sourced from the Original Equipment Equivalent (OEE) or dealership to ensure colour and transmission match your vehicle's existing rear glass. The tint is integral to the glass itself, not a surface coating, so aftermarket non-tinted glass will look visibly mismatched. Replacement does not require any calibration and follows standard bonded-glass cure times for rear windows.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen1
    2004–2009

Heated rear windscreen with integrated wires clears mist and ice when you switch on the demister.

    What it means

A heated rear windscreen contains fine heating wires embedded within the glass. When you activate the rear demister, an electrical current passes through these wires, warming the glass and melting ice or condensation. This feature is particularly useful in cold or damp weather, improving rear visibility quickly. The heating grid is integral to the glass and connected to your vehicle's electrical circuit via connectors at the base of the windscreen.

    How to tell

Look at the rear windscreen from inside the vehicle — you will see a fine grid of horizontal lines across the glass, typically bronze or copper in colour. On the dashboard or steering wheel stalk, there will be a dedicated rear-demist button, usually marked with a windscreen symbol and heating lines. If in doubt, ask your vehicle's service centre or consult your handbook.

    Replacement impact

Replacement rear windscreens with heated grids are widely available as original-equipment aftermarket or dealership parts. The new glass must include the factory heating grid and electrical connectors intact. The technician will reconnect the heating circuit to your vehicle's rear-demist switch. Heated rear windscreens are bonded glass, so adhesive cure time applies; drive-away time will be confirmed by the fitter on the day.

About the Nissan Murano

The Nissan Murano, produced from 2004 to 2009, was a popular mid-size crossover SUV combining family practicality with commanding visibility. Its rear window plays a key structural and aesthetic role in the vehicle's design, and replacement is a straightforward job when damage occurs.

Rear windows on this generation are toughened glass — they shatter into small pieces on impact but do not splinter like windscreens. The Murano's rear window arrives pre-fitted with standard hardware for a secure installation, matching the factory specification of your vehicle.
