Mercedes EQC rear window price, by year

Pricing for EQC rear-window replacement varies based on whether your variant carries privacy tinting, solar-control coating, or the integrated antenna system. Variants with multiple features typically require more precise matching and calibrated fitting, which affects the overall cost. Early EQC models (2019–2020) and later variants (2021–2024) may see slight variation depending on parts availability, but the core replacement process remains consistent across the range.

Year Price range Quote
2024 £695 £695 Price my 2024
2023 £695 £695 Price my 2023
2022 £695 £695 Price my 2022

2020 £695 £695 Price my 2020
2019 £695 £695 Price my 2019

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older EQCs can still be booked.

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Mercedes EQC rear window replacement

Booking your EQC rear-window replacement through UK Car Glass is straightforward — from quote to fitted glass, typically within days.

  1. 1

Answer a quick quiz about your EQC's year and trim to confirm which rear-window variant you need. Our system identifies the correct specification in under 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote and book your fitting at a time that suits you — mobile fitting at your address is the default, or workshop if you prefer.

  3. 3

Our parts-check team confirms your exact glass variant (antenna, privacy tint, solar coating) matches your vehicle specification before your fitter is assigned.

  4. 4

On fitting day, your fitter removes the damaged glass, clears accessible shards, and installs your new rear window — typically 30–60 minutes of work.

  5. 5

A shattered rear window leaves small glass shards in places that are hard to reach during the fit. We recommend a professional valet or interior detailing afterwards for thorough cleaning.

  6. 6

You're covered by a two-year warranty on the glass and workmanship — contact us immediately if any issues arise.

Every specialist on our network is vetted to handle the EQC's integrated systems, and your satisfaction is backed by our standard two-year guarantee.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your EQC?

Most EQC rear-window replacements are fitted mobile at your address — your fitter arrives with all equipment needed and completes the job in under an hour. Because the EQC's rear window does not require ADAS calibration (unlike the windscreen), there's no need for workshop access for this particular job.

If weather is poor or your location makes mobile access difficult, we can arrange a workshop slot instead — just let us know at booking.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your EQC have?

Tap a feature to see what it is, how to spot it on your car, and how it affects glass replacement. We confirm the exact match for your vehicle when you book.

  • Antenna1
    2019–2024

An aerial laminated into the windscreen or rear window restores radio, DAB or TV reception without a roof-mounted mast.

    What it means

An antenna is a conductive print laminated into the glass during manufacture, typically used for radio, DAB (digital audio broadcasting) or television reception. It replaces the traditional roof-mounted aerial mast found on older vehicles. The antenna is integrated into the glass interlayer and connected to the vehicle's receiver unit via a connector embedded in the glass edge. This design offers a cleaner aesthetic, reduces wind noise, and eliminates the vulnerability of a protruding mast to damage or theft.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's roof — if there is no visible aerial mast, your car likely has a laminated antenna. You can also ask your dealer or service centre whether your windscreen or rear window carries an antenna print. The connector may be visible on the glass edge or inside the door frame trim.

    Replacement impact

When replacing glass with a laminated antenna, the replacement must carry the matching antenna print and connector to restore reception immediately on fitting. Aftermarket or original-equipment glass with the correct antenna specification is essential; a plain replacement will leave you without radio or DAB signal. Our fitters verify the antenna specification during booking and source the correct variant before the appointment.

  • Grey Privacy1
    2019–2024

Dark grey tint on rear windows provides privacy and reduces interior heat and glare.

    What it means

Dark grey tint, formally known as privacy glass, is a factory-applied tint created through a deep-dipping process during glass manufacture. The pigment is infused into the inner surface of the glass, darkening the rear windows (and sometimes rear doors) significantly more than the front. This reduces heat transmission, minimises glare, and obscures the interior from outside view. It's standard on the rear half of many modern vehicles.

    How to tell

Compare the rear side windows and rear window (backlight) to the front side windows — the rear glass will be noticeably darker. Check your vehicle documents or ask your dealership service centre if you're unsure whether your car left the factory with privacy glass.

    Replacement impact

Dark grey tinted glass must be sourced from the Original Equipment Equivalent (OEE) or dealership to ensure colour and transmission match your vehicle's existing rear glass. The tint is integral to the glass itself, not a surface coating, so aftermarket non-tinted glass will look visibly mismatched. Replacement does not require any calibration and follows standard bonded-glass cure times for rear windows.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen1
    2019–2024

Heated rear windscreen with integrated wires clears mist and ice when you switch on the demister.

    What it means

A heated rear windscreen contains fine heating wires embedded within the glass. When you activate the rear demister, an electrical current passes through these wires, warming the glass and melting ice or condensation. This feature is particularly useful in cold or damp weather, improving rear visibility quickly. The heating grid is integral to the glass and connected to your vehicle's electrical circuit via connectors at the base of the windscreen.

    How to tell

Look at the rear windscreen from inside the vehicle — you will see a fine grid of horizontal lines across the glass, typically bronze or copper in colour. On the dashboard or steering wheel stalk, there will be a dedicated rear-demist button, usually marked with a windscreen symbol and heating lines. If in doubt, ask your vehicle's service centre or consult your handbook.

    Replacement impact

Replacement rear windscreens with heated grids are widely available as original-equipment aftermarket or dealership parts. The new glass must include the factory heating grid and electrical connectors intact. The technician will reconnect the heating circuit to your vehicle's rear-demist switch. Heated rear windscreens are bonded glass, so adhesive cure time applies; drive-away time will be confirmed by the fitter on the day.

  • Vehicle Emergency Messaging1
    2019–2024

Emergency messaging systems alert the emergency services immediately after a serious crash, reducing response time.

    What it means

An emergency messaging system (sometimes called a 'Mayday' system) is an in-vehicle safety feature that automatically detects a serious collision and transmits emergency location data to the relevant emergency services. When a major impact is detected, the system sends the vehicle's precise GPS coordinates and other crash details to emergency responders, reducing the critical time between the accident and the arrival of medical assistance. This technology is designed to save lives by ensuring rapid response, particularly in situations where the occupants may be unconscious or unable to make a call themselves.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's user manual or infotainment system for emergency call or 'eCall' settings. Many vehicles display an emergency services icon in the dashboard menu or settings. You can also ask your dealership or service centre directly whether your model includes this feature — they'll confirm it's present and explain how to register or activate it if needed.

    Replacement impact

Emergency messaging systems typically involve a control module or sensors in the vehicle structure, but do not require calibration or special handling during windscreen replacement. The system remains fully functional after glass replacement. No cure-time implications or OE-only glass sourcing is triggered by this feature. Standard replacement procedures apply.

About the Mercedes EQC

The Mercedes-Benz EQC is the brand's all-electric SUV, launched in 2019 and continuing through 2024 with consistent styling and engineering across its production run. Rear windows on the EQC typically feature toughened glass with integrated antenna for radio reception, a design carried across the model range.

Many EQC models include privacy tinting on the rear glass as a factory option, offering additional comfort and security. Some variants also feature solar-control coating to help manage cabin temperature — a particularly valuable feature in an electric vehicle where thermal efficiency affects range.
