Volkswagen Tayron windscreen price, by year

Price variation on Tayron windscreens is driven primarily by the presence of acoustic and heated-glass options on higher trims, and by calibration complexity for the camera system. Base variants are more affordable; models with acoustic interlayers, heated elements, and advanced coatings carry higher replacement costs. All variants require camera calibration, which is factored into the final quote.

Year Price range Quote
2026 £700 — £1,143 Price my 2026
2025 £700 — £1,143 Price my 2025
2024 £700 — £1,143 Price my 2024

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older Volkswagen Tayron models can still be booked.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Volkswagen Tayron windscreen replacement

Booking your Tayron windscreen replacement through UK Car Glass takes just minutes — here's how the process unfolds.

  1. 1

Complete our quick online quote tool by answering questions about your Tayron's trim and features — takes under a minute.

  2. 2

We match you with an approved fitter in your area and confirm your appointment.

  3. 3

Our parts team verifies your exact windscreen variant — camera position, acoustic option, heated element, and any coatings — during the booking check.

  4. 4

Your fitter arrives with the correct replacement glass and fits it to factory specification. Technician time typically takes longer than non-camera jobs because static camera calibration is completed after the glass is set.

  5. 5

Once calibrated and cured, your fitter confirms the drive-away time (varies by adhesive and conditions) before you collect the vehicle.

  6. 6

You're covered by our two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

The whole process is coordinated by our network, so you're supported from quote to aftercare.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Tayron?

All Tayron windscreen replacements require static camera calibration after the glass is fitted. This is built into your booking — some of our approved fitters have calibration equipment mobile-capable, whilst others work from a workshop location.

When booking, you'll be matched with a fitter whose setup suits your variant. If a workshop visit is needed for calibration, the entire job (replacement and calibration) is scheduled there as one visit — we don't split the work across locations. Drive-away time is confirmed by your fitter on the day and is unaffected by calibration, since both happen in parallel.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your Tayron have?

Tap a feature to see what it is, how to spot it on your car, and how it affects glass replacement. We confirm the exact match for your vehicle when you book.

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)4
    2024–2026

On the Volkswagen Tayron: fitted on every one of the 4 windscreen variants we list; model years 2024–2026.

    What it means

Laminated interlayers in the glass dampen road and wind noise for a quieter cabin, especially on motorways.

    On your Volkswagen Tayron

Look for the word 'Acoustic' or an ear symbol in one of the four corners of the windscreen, or confirmed on your higher trim specification.

  • Camera4
    2024–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Volkswagen Tayron: fitted on every one of the 4 windscreen variants we list; model years 2024–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A front-facing camera behind the windscreen supports lane-keeping, adaptive cruise, and collision warnings.

    On your Volkswagen Tayron

Look for one or two triangular shapes in the black field near the rear-view mirror at the top of the windscreen. All 2024+ Tayron models carry this standard.

We confirm the exact procedure for your specific vehicle when you book.

  • Rain Sensor4
    2024–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Volkswagen Tayron: fitted on every one of the 4 windscreen variants we list; model years 2024–2026; no calibration after replacement.

    What it means

Wipers automatically activate when rain is detected, without driver input.

    On your Volkswagen Tayron

If your wipers turn on automatically during rain without touching the stalk, you have a rain sensor. Standard on all current Tayron variants.

  • Vin Notch4
    2024–2026

On the Volkswagen Tayron: fitted on every one of the 4 windscreen variants we list; model years 2024–2026.

    What it means

A small printed box along the base of the windscreen displays the vehicle's chassis number (VIN) for identification.

    On your Volkswagen Tayron

Look at the bottom edge of the windscreen — if you see a box with numbers, your replacement will carry the same. Standard on all 2024+ models.

  • Coating2
    2024–2026

On the Volkswagen Tayron: fitted on 2 of the 4 windscreen variants we list (50%); model years 2024–2026.

Coated windscreens have a blue or purple tint and protect your car from UV rays and heat.

    What it means

A coated windscreen has a special protective layer applied to the glass that appears as a blue or purple tint and often reflects a silvery-blue colour in bright sunlight. This coating is designed to reduce the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation and solar heat that enters the vehicle, helping to keep the interior cooler and protecting upholstery and dashboard components from UV damage and fading. The coating is integral to the glass and doesn't require any special maintenance from you.

    How to tell

Look at your windscreen in bright daylight — a coated windscreen will show a distinct blue or purple tint and a silvery-blue reflection when the sun hits it directly. Check your vehicle's service booklet or window sticker (usually on the driver's door jamb), which may list the glass specification. Alternatively, ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your windscreen carries a UV or heat-rejection coating.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a coated windscreen, the replacement glass must match the original specification — including the coating type and tint level — to maintain the same UV and heat protection and to preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Original-equipment or equivalent aftermarket coated glass is sourced to specification. The coating is applied during glass manufacture; no post-fit treatment is required. Fitting and cure times are unaffected by the presence of the coating.

  • Green2
    2024–2026

On the Volkswagen Tayron: fitted on 2 of the 4 windscreen variants we list (50%); model years 2024–2026.

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Heated Coating2
    2024–2026

On the Volkswagen Tayron: fitted on 2 of the 4 windscreen variants we list (50%); model years 2024–2026.

A transparent heating layer in the glass defrosts and defogs the windscreen evenly without visible wires.

    What it means

Heated coatings are a transparent conductive layer embedded within the laminated windscreen glass itself. Rather than using visible heating filaments, this coating distributes heat evenly across the entire surface when energised. The system defrosts and defogs the windscreen efficiently, typically faster than conventional filament designs, and operates at lower energy consumption. The coating is invisible to the driver and functions as part of the vehicle's climate control system.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's windscreen for the absence of visible heating wires or grid lines. Ask your dealership or service centre whether your car has a coated (invisible) heating system rather than filament-based heating. You can also check your handbook under climate control or windscreen features.

    Replacement impact

Replacement glass must carry the same transparent conductive coating for the heating circuit to function. The coating is applied during manufacturing and cannot be added afterwards. Your replacement windscreen will be sourced as an OE (original equipment) or equivalent coated variant to ensure heating performance. No additional calibration or curing implications arise from the coating itself.

  • Heat Reflective2
    2024–2026

On the Volkswagen Tayron: fitted on 2 of the 4 windscreen variants we list (50%); model years 2024–2026.

Heat-reflective tinting reduces solar gain and cabin temperature, often visible as a darker shade near the windscreen's top edge.

    What it means

Heat-reflective tinting is a specially formulated layer applied to the windscreen—usually concentrated in the upper band near the black dots (the frit)—designed to reflect solar radiation and reduce heat buildup inside the vehicle. This helps maintain cabin comfort, reduces air-conditioning load, and can protect interior materials from UV damage. The tint is typically darker or noticeably different in colour than the front side windows, which remain clear or lightly tinted.

    How to tell

Look at your windscreen from inside the vehicle and compare the tint colour to your front side windows. Heat-reflective windscreens often have a visibly darker or warmer tone, especially in the upper portion within 2 cm of the black-dot edge (the frit). You can also check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your model includes heat-reflective glazing.

    Replacement impact

Replacement windscreens with heat-reflective tinting must be sourced to the exact specification of your original glass—aftermarket equivalents are available but must match the tint density and reflective properties. The tinting is integral to the glass itself and cannot be applied afterwards. No calibration is required. The windscreen is bonded in place and cure time applies as standard.

  • HUD - Head Up Display2
    2024–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Volkswagen Tayron: fitted on 2 of the 4 windscreen variants we list (50%); model years 2024–2026; no calibration after replacement.

    What it means

Speed, navigation, and driver assistance information is projected onto the windscreen within your line of sight.

    On your Volkswagen Tayron

If you see digital data projected onto the lower windscreen during driving, HUD is present. Confirmed on your trim during the parts check.

About the Volkswagen Tayron

The Volkswagen Tayron is Volkswagen's newest mid-size SUV, launched in 2024 with a modern glass specification across all variants in our catalogue. Every Tayron windscreen features a front-facing camera for driver assistance, rain-sensing wipers, and a VIN notch along the base — marking it as a fully equipped modern vehicle.

Optional acoustic interlayers are available on select trims, reducing cabin noise on motorway drives. Some variants also include heated windscreens for year-round visibility, and a small number carry premium coatings that filter UV rays and heat. Head-up display projection is offered on certain trims, casting speed and navigation data onto the windscreen itself.

All current Tayron models require camera calibration after windscreen replacement — a safety-critical step that ensures lane-keeping assist and other vision-based systems work correctly. This is built into your booking and coordinated as part of the fit.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

Yes. Camera calibration is completed after your windscreen is fitted and adhesive begins to cure — both happen in parallel, so it doesn't add to the time you wait. Your fitter will either calibrate mobile (if equipped) or the entire job is booked at a workshop with the right setup. Either way, it's one visit, not multiple appointments.

Acoustic interlayers and heated elements are part of the factory specification and are matched on your replacement glass during the parts check. These options affect pricing but don't change the fitting process or calibration. Your fitter is equipped for all variants.

Technician time is typically longer than a non-camera windscreen because calibration is part of the work — exact duration varies by variant and setup. The full job typically completes within a couple of hours. Your fitter will give you a specific timescale when they arrive.

Yes. All current Tayron variants are in our catalogue with suppliers actively stocking replacements. Your parts team confirms availability during the booking check — if for any reason your exact variant isn't in stock locally, we'll source it and reschedule with no delay.
