The Toyota HiLux has been in continuous production since 1983, establishing itself as one of the world's most durable and widely-used light commercial vehicles. Across its multiple generations, windscreen specifications have evolved from straightforward laminated designs to increasingly sophisticated glass systems.
From the mid-2010s onwards, HiLux models began featuring advanced glass technologies including green or blue tints, solar-control coatings to reduce cabin heat, and integrated antenna elements for enhanced reception. More recent variants incorporate Toyota Safety Sense camera systems, which require a forward-facing mono camera bracket and heated sensor zones built into the windscreen.
Static camera calibration is standard for HiLux models equipped with Safety Sense, carried out indoors at a workshop after the glass is fitted to ensure the forward-facing camera aligns precisely with manufacturer specifications.
