Toyota Carina windscreen price, by year

Pricing varies primarily by generation and the presence of heating elements. Models with heated windscreens or heated wiper rest areas carry slightly higher costs due to the electrical integration required during fitting. Sun-strip variants (whether blue or green) may also vary from plain tinted glass.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Toyota Carina windscreen replacement

From quote to fitting, here's the journey.

  1. 1

Book your replacement through our online quote tool — answer a few quick questions about your Carina's year and features to find your exact variant.

  2. 2

Our parts team confirms your glass specification and the technician match happens automatically.

  3. 3

A fitter near you is assigned and contacts you to arrange a convenient time — mobile fitting at your address is the default.

  4. 4

On the day, your fitter removes the damaged windscreen, fits the replacement (typically 45–90 minutes of work), and confirms the drive-away time with you.

  5. 5

You're covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality — any concerns, contact us and we'll arrange remediation.

Book now and your Carina will be back on the road with a fresh windscreen fitted to your original factory spec.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Carina?

Most Carina windscreen replacements are fitted mobile at your address — no workshop needed. Because the Carina predates modern ADAS safety systems, there's no calibration requirement after fitting, so your fitter can complete the job and release you to drive within the adhesive cure time confirmed on the day.

If weather or your location makes a mobile visit impractical, your fitter can arrange a workshop appointment as an alternative.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your Carina have?

Tap a feature to see what it is, how to spot it on your car, and how it affects glass replacement. We confirm the exact match for your vehicle when you book.

  • Blue4
    1987–1997

On the Toyota Carina: fitted on 4 of the 6 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 1987–1997.

    What it means

A subtle blue tint built into the glass — it's hard to see at first glance, but once you know it's there, you'll spot it. This is factory standard on most Carina variants.

    On your Toyota Carina

Confirmed during your online quote based on your vehicle's year and trim — you don't need to inspect the glass yourself.

  • Blue Sun Strip2
    1987–1992

On the Toyota Carina: fitted on 2 of the 6 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 1987–1992.

    What it means

A blue-tinted gradient band running across the top of the windscreen that cuts glare from above — built into the glass laminate, not an overlay. The replacement must match this feature exactly.

    On your Toyota Carina

Most common on mid-range and higher Carina variants from the later 1990s production years — confirmed during the parts check.

  • Green2
    1992–1997

On the Toyota Carina: fitted on 2 of the 6 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 1992–1997.

    What it means

A subtle green tint in the glass — like the blue tint, it's designed to be hard to see on first inspection but significantly reduces glare once recognised.

    On your Toyota Carina

Confirmed during your online quote — some Carina models favoured green tint over blue across their range.

  • Heated Windscreen2
    1988–1997

On the Toyota Carina: fitted on 2 of the 6 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 1988–1997.

    What it means

A heating mesh integrated into the windscreen that defrosts the glass on cold mornings — a practical feature on select Carina variants from the later 1980s and 1990s.

    On your Toyota Carina

Present on certain trim levels and market variants — confirmed at booking through our parts check.

  • Heated Wiper Rest Area2
    1988–1997

On the Toyota Carina: fitted on 2 of the 6 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 1988–1997.

    What it means

A small heated zone at the base of the windscreen that helps defrost the wiper blades and lower glass edge during winter — a handy complement to full heating.

    On your Toyota Carina

Usually paired with heated windscreen variants — your technician will identify it during the parts verification.

  • Green Sun Strip1
    1992–1997

On the Toyota Carina: fitted on 1 of the 6 windscreen variants we list (17%); model years 1992–1997.

    What it means

A green-tinted gradient band at the windscreen's top edge that reduces glare from above — built into the laminate, not a surface layer. The replacement must be the green-sun-strip variant to match the original.

    On your Toyota Carina

Less common than the blue sun strip across Carina variants — confirmed during the online quote process.

About the Toyota Carina

The Toyota Carina was in continuous production from 1987 to 1997, spanning multiple generations of Japanese reliability. Most Carina windscreens feature a subtle blue tint, with some models carrying a blue sun strip across the top to reduce glare from above without affecting driver visibility.

Heated windscreens and heated wiper rest areas appear on select variants from the later production years, offering practical winter driving assistance. Because the Carina predates modern ADAS systems, windscreen replacements are straightforward fits without the calibration complexity found on newer vehicles.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

No. The Toyota Carina predates modern ADAS systems, so there's no forward-facing camera or calibration requirement. Windscreen replacement is a straightforward fit without additional technical work after the glass is set.

Both are factory tints built into the glass to reduce glare — the difference is colour preference by market and model year. Blue tint appears on most Carina variants, while green tint is less common. The colour is hard to notice unless you know to look for it, but it's important to match the original exactly.

No. The sun strip is a gradient tint built into the PVB laminate at the top of the glass — it can't be added afterwards. A plain windscreen won't show the band and will look visibly different. Your replacement must be the sun-strip variant to match your original factory spec.

Typically 45–90 minutes of your fitter's active time, depending on the condition of the frame and any heating elements that need to be checked. Your fitter will confirm the total job time and the adhesive drive-away window before leaving — usually the same day.
