Toyota Aygo windscreen price, by year

Replacement costs vary depending on whether your Aygo requires camera calibration after fitting. Variants with Toyota Safety Sense camera systems involve static calibration at a workshop, extending the technician time and requiring a controlled environment with target boards. Earlier models without cameras are typically the most straightforward and affordable to replace.

My windscreen cracked and I was really struggling to find anyone who could fix it quicker than 2 weeks. Then I came across UK Car Glass online and was pleased to find that not only could they fit me in within a few days but also at literally half the cost the everywhere else ( including big companies like auto glass ) ! I booked in and Steve cake out to fix my car. The service was fantastic and so efficient . I didn’t need to stop working ( I was working from home ) , I got a call to tell me when they were on their way and passed them my keys when they got here and 25 minutes later the windscreen was replaced and the car was good as new ! I’m so pleased with this service, I will recommend it to everyone I know ☺️

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Aygo?

Most Aygo windscreen replacements can be completed at your home or workplace with a mobile fitter. However, if your model includes a Toyota Safety Sense camera system, your replacement must be fitted at a workshop so that static calibration can be performed indoors using target boards.

We schedule the entire job—glass replacement and calibration—at a single workshop location to ensure the safety-critical alignment is properly completed and documented.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Bracket For Safety Features1

The moulded trim that surrounds your camera and sensor cluster at the top of the windscreen, typically transferred or supplied with replacement glass.

    What it means

A bracket for safety features is the moulded plastic or composite shroud that sits at the top of the windscreen, framing and protecting the camera and sensor cluster mounted behind the rear-view mirror. This trim cover houses forward-facing driver-assistance cameras and sensors — equipment that monitors the road ahead for lane-keeping, collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and similar safety functions. The bracket itself is part of the vehicle's structural frame, but the trim cover you see is what protects and aesthetically integrates the technology into the windscreen area.

    How to tell

Look at the top centre of your windscreen, just above or around the rear-view mirror. If you see a dark moulded shroud or trim panel — often rectangular or tapered — with a visible lens or sensor window, your vehicle has a bracket for safety features. Your service history or handbook will list any ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technologies fitted. Ask your dealer or service centre if your vehicle has forward-facing cameras or sensors; if it does, you have a bracket for safety features.

    Replacement impact

On windscreen replacement, the trim cover is typically transferred from your old glass to the new one, or supplied pre-integrated with the replacement depending on the variant. This means minimal disruption to your safety system during the swap. However, if the bracket requires recalibration after glass replacement — which depends on your specific vehicle and camera type — the job may require static calibration (using a target board) or dynamic calibration (a road drive). We confirm the exact calibration procedure when we look up your vehicle.

  • LIDAR1
    2017–2022Bespoke calibration

On the Toyota Aygo: fitted on 1 of the 7 windscreen variants we list (14%); model years 2017–2022; bespoke calibration.

LIDAR helps your car sense its surroundings for advanced safety and driver-assistance features.

    What it means

LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a sensor technology that uses laser beams to detect objects, obstacles, and road features in three dimensions. It creates a detailed map of the vehicle's surroundings in real time, enabling advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance, and autonomous emergency braking. LIDAR complements camera and radar systems by providing precise distance and depth information, even in poor visibility or low-light conditions. It is increasingly fitted to modern vehicles as part of their safety and autonomous-capability infrastructure.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or contact your dealership to confirm LIDAR fitment. LIDAR sensors are typically mounted on the roof, bumpers, or within the windscreen/rear-window frame area. You may see reference to 'LIDAR', 'laser radar', or specific safety-feature names (e.g. 'adaptive cruise control', 'autonomous emergency braking') that rely on LIDAR in your documentation.

    Replacement impact

If your windscreen or rear window houses or frames a LIDAR sensor, replacement requires careful handling to preserve or recalibrate the sensor post-fit. LIDAR calibration procedures vary significantly by vehicle make, model, and year—some require static alignment using specialist target equipment, others demand dynamic road-drive procedures, and some use a combination. We identify the exact calibration requirement when we look up your specific vehicle and confirm it with you before booking.

  • Rain Sensor1
    2022–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Toyota Aygo: fitted on 1 of the 7 windscreen variants we list (14%); model years 2022–2026; no calibration after replacement.

Your wipers automatically activate when rain falls on the windscreen.

    What it means

A rain sensor is a device mounted on or behind the windscreen that detects moisture and triggers the wiper system automatically. The sensor uses infrared light to measure water droplets on the glass surface and signals the vehicle's electrical system to engage the wipers without driver input. This feature improves safety in sudden downpours and reduces driver workload in variable weather conditions.

    How to tell

Check your windscreen for a small sensor unit, usually mounted near the top centre behind the glass or at the base of the mirror. Look for a small dark component or lens. If your vehicle has automatic wipers that activate without you toggling the stalk, you have a rain sensor. Ask your dealer or service centre to confirm; they can check your vehicle records or wiper module settings.

    Replacement impact

Rain sensors are non-structural elements and do not require recalibration after windscreen replacement. The sensor bracket or mounting may need careful removal and reinstallation to ensure it sits correctly behind the new glass. If the sensor itself is damaged during removal, a replacement unit may be needed. Your fitter will confirm the condition and refit or replace the sensor as part of the standard replacement procedure.

  • Sensor Heated Zone1
    2017–2022Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Toyota Aygo: fitted on 1 of the 7 windscreen variants we list (14%); model years 2017–2022; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A heating element in the windscreen around the sensor area that prevents moisture and frost from interfering with the camera and sensor cluster.

    On your Toyota Aygo

Present on camera-equipped variants with Toyota Safety Sense; confirmed during your parts check and included in your replacement glass.

Calibration mix across our Toyota variants

    • 1Static

We confirm the exact procedure for your specific vehicle when you book.

  • Static Camera Calibration Process1
    2017–2022Static calibration required

On the Toyota Aygo: fitted on 1 of the 7 windscreen variants we list (14%); model years 2017–2022; static calibration required.

    What it means

Indoor alignment of the forward camera using printed target boards placed at manufacturer-specified distances, ensuring the safety system functions accurately after glass replacement.

    On your Toyota Aygo

If your Aygo has a camera system, static calibration is required after your windscreen is fitted; this work is completed at a workshop and is included in your quote.

About the Toyota Aygo

The Toyota Aygo has been in continuous production since 2005, spanning three generations of affordable city cars. Early models carried straightforward laminated windscreens with green tint and solar-control coating as standard.

From the 2018 facelift onwards, Toyota Safety Sense began appearing on higher-trim variants, introducing forward-facing cameras and associated windscreen features like sensor heating zones and static calibration requirements. Modern Aygo windscreens feature these same green and solar-control properties across all current variants, with cameras present on roughly one-third of the models in our catalogue.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

Only if your model includes Toyota Safety Sense with a forward-facing camera. Roughly one-third of Aygo variants in our catalogue have this system. Your quote will identify whether calibration is required; if it is, the fitting is scheduled at a workshop with static calibration included.

If your Aygo doesn't have a camera system, mobile fitting at your address is available. If it does have Toyota Safety Sense, the job must be done at a workshop so calibration can happen indoors with target boards.

Either way, your fitter will confirm the drive-away time before you leave, typically on the same day.

Early Aygo models (2005–2017) featured straightforward laminated windscreens with green tint and solar control, but no cameras or sensors. From 2018 onwards, higher trims began including Toyota Safety Sense, which adds a forward-facing camera, sensor heating, and the need for static calibration after replacement.

Your quote identifies which generation and feature set applies to your specific Aygo.

Yes, all six active Aygo variants in our catalogue have a green-tinted windscreen with solar-control coating. This is a factory specification that your replacement glass will match exactly.
