Renault Laguna windscreen price, by year

Price variation across Laguna variants is driven by generation differences and the presence of advanced glass features. Earlier models from the 1990s and early 2000s without sensors or coatings are the most affordable options.

Later variants with rain sensors, solar-control glass, acoustic interlayers, or heated windscreen specifications command higher costs due to the additional manufacturing complexity and the precision required during fitting.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Laguna?

Most Renault Laguna windscreen replacements are completed as mobile visits at your home or workplace — the standard option for all our bookings.

Because the Laguna range predates widespread camera-based ADAS systems, the vast majority of variants do not require post-fit calibration. This means your fitting can be done on location without any need for workshop access, and you'll be able to drive away once your fitter confirms the adhesive cure time — typically the same day.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)2
    2007–2015

On the Renault Laguna: fitted on 2 of the 14 windscreen variants we list (14%); model years 2007–2015.

Acoustic glass reduces cabin noise for a quieter, more comfortable ride.

    What it means

Acoustic windscreen glass is laminated with a special acoustic interlayer that absorbs and dampens sound vibrations. It reduces exterior noise—from traffic, wind, and road surface—before it enters the passenger compartment. This makes the cabin noticeably quieter and creates a more peaceful driving experience. It's a comfort feature, not a safety one; standard laminated windscreens already meet impact safety requirements.

    How to tell

Check your windscreen for an ear symbol, the word 'Acoustic', a capital 'A', or the term 'SoundScreen' printed in one of the four corners. These markings indicate acoustic-grade glass. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre whether your model came fitted with acoustic glass—it's often a factory option on comfort or premium trims.

    Replacement impact

Acoustic glass is always laminated and bonds to the frame like any standard windscreen, so replacement follows the normal bonded-glass procedure. No specialist calibration is required. The replacement technician will fit it using standard adhesive and sealant. Cure time and drive-away restrictions are identical to standard laminated windscreens. Acoustic glass is widely available as an aftermarket OE-equivalent option.

  • Green Sun Strip2
    1994–2001

On the Renault Laguna: fitted on 2 of the 14 windscreen variants we list (14%); model years 1994–2001.

A green-tinted band at the windscreen's top edge that reduces glare from sunlight above.

    What it means

A green sun strip is a graduated tint band integrated into the windscreen's laminate at the upper edge. It filters intense sunlight and glare from above — particularly useful on motorways and in bright conditions — whilst maintaining clarity through the main viewing area below. The tint is permanent, fused into the laminate layer during manufacture, and cannot be applied or removed afterwards. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature because they must be built into the laminate during production; side and rear glass cannot carry them as they are typically toughened rather than laminated.

    How to tell

Look at the top edge of your windscreen from the inside. A sun strip appears as a distinct green-tinted gradient band that fades from darker at the very top to clear below. It is visible whether the car is parked or moving. You can also check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership or current service centre to confirm whether your windscreen includes a sun strip.

    Replacement impact

The replacement windscreen must be the green sun strip variant to match your original. This is not a post-fit addition; it must be ordered as part of the glass itself. Availability is usually straightforward for current and recent models from major manufacturers, though older or less common variants may require a longer lead time. The sun strip does not affect calibration requirements or cure time — it is simply a laminate feature and does not complicate the fitting process.

  • Heated Windscreen2
    1994–2008

On the Renault Laguna: fitted on 2 of the 14 windscreen variants we list (14%); model years 1994–2008.

    What it means

An integrated mesh of thin heating wires embedded in the glass that warm the windscreen in cold conditions, improving visibility and de-icing.

    On your Renault Laguna

Typically found on premium or high-trim Laguna variants; look for the heating element indicator on the dashboard or confirmed during the parts check.

About the Renault Laguna

The Renault Laguna arrived in 1994 and evolved through three distinct generations over two decades, with significant changes in glass specification along the way.

Early Laguna models carried straightforward laminated windscreens with minimal trim, while mid-generation cars from the 2000s onwards introduced rain sensors, solar-control coatings, and green-tinted variants as standard options across different trim levels.

Later iterations saw the introduction of acoustic interlayers and heated windscreen options on premium specifications, reflecting the model's positioning as a family saloon competing in an increasingly tech-aware market.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

A subtle green tint is standard on most modern windscreens, including many Laguna variants — it's not a sign of wear. Your replacement glass is matched to your factory specification during our parts check, so the tint will be identical. The tint helps reduce glare and heat without being visually obvious.

Many mid-generation and later Laguna models feature automatic rain-sensing wipers. If your car has this feature, the replacement windscreen includes the sensor bracket, and your fitter will reinstall it as part of the fit. It does not require any separate electrical work or calibration.

A heated windscreen contains a thin mesh of heating wires embedded in the glass. Only select higher-trim Laguna variants come with this as standard — if your car doesn't have it, a non-heated windscreen is the correct replacement.

If your Laguna does have a heated windscreen, the replacement must match the same specification — this can't be retro-fitted. Your parts check confirms whether heating is required for your specific variant.

Our catalogue includes 16 active variants covering the full 1994–2015 Laguna production run, so we can match the vast majority of cars on the road. If your model falls outside our standard catalogue, our team can still arrange a bespoke quote — just contact us directly with your registration and details.
