Renault Clio windscreen price, by year

Prices vary with generation and trim specification. Early-2000s models without rain sensors or acoustic glass are the most affordable. Later variants with acoustic interlayers, rain-sensing wipers, and solar-control coatings carry higher replacement costs due to the added glass complexity and the parts-check process needed to confirm exact specification.

Very professional, highly recommend

The guys actually fitting my windscreen were brilliant - friendly, professional and informative. However, my booking process was a bit bumpy, as I was given the choice of any day to pick my fitting, but then received a text saying I couldn’t do that day. Then we agreed a date but I had to phone up to find out the specific time.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

Up/Down Door Glass Replacement

Booked the job online Wednesday morning (process was easy), booked in, glass sourced and completed at my home address Friday morning (at a very competitive rate) - Great service! Note: UKCG subcontract your work out to local businesses. So go and give your local fitter a review aswell

What to expect during your Renault Clio windscreen replacement

Booking your Clio windscreen replacement is straightforward — quote, match, and fit.

  1. 1

Complete a quick online quote through our guided widget, identifying your Clio's year and features in about a minute.

  2. 2

Our team carries out a parts check to confirm your exact windscreen specification — rain sensor, acoustic layer, solar coating, VIN notch position, and any other factory features.

  3. 3

You're matched with a local specialist nearby who can fit your Clio. Most jobs are arranged at your address as a mobile appointment.

  4. 4

On the day, your fitter removes the old windscreen, fits your replacement glass (matched to your factory spec), and confirms the drive-away time before leaving.

  5. 5

Your replacement is covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality. For any concerns, call UKCG and we'll arrange a remedy.

Most Clio jobs complete within a couple of hours, times vary by age and trim.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Clio?

Most Clio windscreen replacements are fitted at your home or workplace as a mobile appointment. Because the Clio range carries very few camera-equipped variants (only one in our active catalogue), static calibration is rarely required.

When calibration is needed, your fitter will arrange the job at a workshop so both replacement and calibration run in one location — we don't split jobs across multiple days or sites.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your Clio have?

Tap a feature to see what it is, how to spot it on your car, and how it affects glass replacement. We confirm the exact match for your vehicle when you book.

  • Green16
    1990–2026

On the Renault Clio: fitted on 16 of the 18 windscreen variants we list (89%); model years 1990–2026.

    What it means

A subtle green tint in the glass that reduces glare and heat — present on the vast majority of Clio windscreens as a factory standard, rarely noticed by owners.

    On your Renault Clio

Confirmed during our parts check; it's difficult to spot visually unless you know to look carefully at the tint.

  • Solar Control13
    1999–2018

On the Renault Clio: fitted on 13 of the 18 windscreen variants we list (72%); model years 1999–2018.

    What it means

A special infrared-absorbing coating applied to the windscreen that reduces the sun's heat inside the cabin — optional on premium and higher-spec Clios.

    On your Renault Clio

Typically found on higher trims and newer Clios; confirmed at the parts-check stage if your vehicle specification includes it.

  • Vin Notch12
    2005–2026

On the Renault Clio: fitted on 12 of the 18 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2005–2026.

    What it means

A stamped box along the bottom edge of the windscreen displaying the vehicle's VIN (chassis number), used for parts identification and matching.

    On your Renault Clio

Present on most Clios from the early 2000s onwards; confirmed at the parts-check stage to ensure your replacement glass has the notch in the correct position.

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)8
    2001–2026

On the Renault Clio: fitted on 8 of the 18 windscreen variants we list (44%); model years 2001–2026.

    What it means

A sound-dampening interlayer in the windscreen that reduces road noise and wind roar — typically found on higher-trim Clios and newer model years.

    On your Renault Clio

Standard on many later-generation Clios; look for the word 'Acoustic' or 'SoundScreen' printed in one of the glass corners, or ask during your quote.

  • Rain Sensor7
    2001–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Renault Clio: fitted on 7 of the 18 windscreen variants we list (39%); model years 2001–2026; no calibration after replacement.

    What it means

An optical sensor behind the windscreen that automatically activates your wipers when it detects rain — common on mid-range and higher trims.

    On your Renault Clio

If your wipers auto-activate when it rains, your Clio has a rain sensor; this is confirmed during the parts check to ensure correct bracket positioning on the replacement.

  • Light Sensor3
    2017–2026

On the Renault Clio: fitted on 3 of the 18 windscreen variants we list (17%); model years 2017–2026.

Light sensors automatically turn your headlights on at dusk or in tunnels; the replacement windscreen must include the sensor bracket.

    What it means

A light sensor is a small optical detector mounted on the windscreen or dashboard that monitors ambient light levels. When light drops below a threshold—at dusk or when entering a tunnel—it triggers your headlights to switch on automatically. This removes the need to manually operate the lights and improves safety by ensuring visibility when conditions darken suddenly. The sensor is typically mounted behind the windscreen's top edge or integrated into the interior mirror housing, where it has an unobstructed view of the sky.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or ask your dealer whether your car has automatic headlight control or 'auto lights' as a feature. If equipped, you'll see a symbol on the stalk or dashboard dial marked with a light-bulb icon or 'AUTO' setting. When you select this mode and the ambient light dims, the headlights activate without manual input. Not all cars have this feature; it's typically found on newer or higher-specification models.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen on a vehicle with a light sensor, the replacement glass must include the correct sensor bracket or mounting point to preserve the auto-headlight function. The sensor itself does not require software calibration—it relies on physical positioning behind the windscreen's upper trim or within the mirror assembly. Ensuring the bracket is correctly installed during the fit is essential; if omitted, the auto-light feature will fail and cannot be restored without additional parts and labour.

  • Clear2
    1998–2008Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Renault Clio: fitted on 2 of the 18 windscreen variants we list (11%); model years 1998–2008; calibration varies by vehicle.

Clear windscreen glass has no tint; most cars have a slight tint as standard.

    What it means

A clear windscreen contains no added tint layer. Most modern windscreens incorporate a subtle tint (typically blue, green, grey or bronze) as standard to reduce glare, provide UV protection, and improve cabin comfort. A genuinely clear windscreen is the absence of this tint. Clear glass is less common than tinted variants and is sometimes specified for aesthetic or operational reasons, though the tint difference is usually imperceptible to the naked eye.

    How to tell

Lower your side window halfway and hold a white piece of paper behind it. If you see a noticeable colour cast (blue, green, grey or bronze) in the side glass, your windscreen has the same tint. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre to confirm the windscreen specification in your service records.

    Replacement impact

Clear windscreen replacement uses the same installation process as any other windscreen. No special calibration or extended cure time applies. Sourcing is straightforward — clear glass is widely available as an aftermarket replacement. Installation time and drive-away restrictions follow standard windscreen replacement timings. If your vehicle has ADAS features (forward-facing camera or radar), calibration may be required after replacement depending on your specific vehicle; we confirm this when we look up your car details.

  • Coating2
    1998–2008

On the Renault Clio: fitted on 2 of the 18 windscreen variants we list (11%); model years 1998–2008.

Coated windscreens have a blue or purple tint and protect your car from UV rays and heat.

    What it means

A coated windscreen has a special protective layer applied to the glass that appears as a blue or purple tint and often reflects a silvery-blue colour in bright sunlight. This coating is designed to reduce the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation and solar heat that enters the vehicle, helping to keep the interior cooler and protecting upholstery and dashboard components from UV damage and fading. The coating is integral to the glass and doesn't require any special maintenance from you.

    How to tell

Look at your windscreen in bright daylight — a coated windscreen will show a distinct blue or purple tint and a silvery-blue reflection when the sun hits it directly. Check your vehicle's service booklet or window sticker (usually on the driver's door jamb), which may list the glass specification. Alternatively, ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your windscreen carries a UV or heat-rejection coating.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a coated windscreen, the replacement glass must match the original specification — including the coating type and tint level — to maintain the same UV and heat protection and to preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Original-equipment or equivalent aftermarket coated glass is sourced to specification. The coating is applied during glass manufacture; no post-fit treatment is required. Fitting and cure times are unaffected by the presence of the coating.

  • Bracket For Safety Features1
    2019–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Renault Clio: fitted on 1 of the 18 windscreen variants we list (6%); model years 2019–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A moulded plastic shroud that sits around the camera and sensor cluster at the top of the windscreen — transfer or supply depends on the variant.

    On your Renault Clio

Visible as a dark plastic trim cover around the rear-view mirror housing; confirmed during the quote if your Clio carries this component.

  • Green Sun Strip1
    1999–2005

On the Renault Clio: fitted on 1 of the 18 windscreen variants we list (6%); model years 1999–2005.

A green-tinted band at the windscreen's top edge that reduces glare from sunlight above.

    What it means

A green sun strip is a graduated tint band integrated into the windscreen's laminate at the upper edge. It filters intense sunlight and glare from above — particularly useful on motorways and in bright conditions — whilst maintaining clarity through the main viewing area below. The tint is permanent, fused into the laminate layer during manufacture, and cannot be applied or removed afterwards. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature because they must be built into the laminate during production; side and rear glass cannot carry them as they are typically toughened rather than laminated.

    How to tell

Look at the top edge of your windscreen from the inside. A sun strip appears as a distinct green-tinted gradient band that fades from darker at the very top to clear below. It is visible whether the car is parked or moving. You can also check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership or current service centre to confirm whether your windscreen includes a sun strip.

    Replacement impact

The replacement windscreen must be the green sun strip variant to match your original. This is not a post-fit addition; it must be ordered as part of the glass itself. Availability is usually straightforward for current and recent models from major manufacturers, though older or less common variants may require a longer lead time. The sun strip does not affect calibration requirements or cure time — it is simply a laminate feature and does not complicate the fitting process.

  • Mono Camera1
    2019–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Renault Clio: fitted on 1 of the 18 windscreen variants we list (6%); model years 2019–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

A single camera mounted near the rear-view mirror that helps with lane-keeping and collision avoidance.

    What it means

A mono camera is a single-lens camera positioned behind the windscreen, typically in the upper centre area near the rear-view mirror. It captures the road ahead and uses computer vision to detect lane markings, vehicles, and road hazards. The camera feeds data to driver-assistance systems such as lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning. It forms the visual foundation of these safety features, allowing the vehicle to monitor road position and surrounding traffic automatically.

    How to tell

Look in the black trim area above the windscreen, centred behind the rear-view mirror — you will see a small triangular lens assembly or dark lens cover. Check your vehicle handbook or ask your dealer's service department to confirm your model has lane-assistance or collision-warning features; vehicles with these systems almost always have a mono camera. Dashboard warning symbols related to lane or collision systems also indicate the presence of this camera.

    Replacement impact

When the windscreen is replaced, the camera bracket and lens assembly must be removed and carefully repositioned on the new glass. The camera may require calibration after fitting to ensure accurate road detection and lane recognition. Calibration needs vary by vehicle — we confirm the exact procedure when we look up your specific vehicle. The job may take longer than a standard windscreen replacement, and workshop facilities may be required if calibration demands a controlled environment.

Calibration mix across our Renault variants

    • 1Static

We confirm the exact procedure for your specific vehicle when you book.

  • Static Camera Calibration Process1
    2019–2026Static calibration required

On the Renault Clio: fitted on 1 of the 18 windscreen variants we list (6%); model years 2019–2026; static calibration required.

Static calibration uses printed targets indoors to align your forward-facing camera after windscreen replacement.

    What it means

Static camera calibration is a procedure in which a forward-facing camera system is realigned using printed target boards positioned at manufacturer-specified distances and heights in front of the vehicle. The vehicle remains stationary indoors throughout. A diagnostic tool reads the camera's view of these targets and adjusts the camera's alignment to factory specification. This ensures the camera can accurately detect road features, lane markings, pedestrians, and other objects — critical for driver-assistance systems like lane-keeping, collision warning, and adaptive cruise control to function safely and reliably.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or ask your dealer's service centre whether your car has a forward-facing camera system that requires calibration after windscreen replacement. Look for driver-assistance features like lane-keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking, or adaptive cruise control on the dashboard menu.

    Replacement impact

When a windscreen with an integrated or bracket-mounted camera is replaced, the camera's alignment can shift. Static calibration realigns the camera using indoor target boards, which must be performed in a workshop environment where printed targets can be positioned and secured at precise distances. This procedure is conducted after the windscreen is fitted and bonded. The workshop booking accommodates the additional time required for calibration, and we apply the no-split policy — both replacement and calibration happen at the same location on the same visit.

About the Renault Clio

The Renault Clio has been in continuous production since 1990, evolving through five generations. Early models carry straightforward laminated windscreens, while later Clios from the mid-2010s onwards feature rain sensors, acoustic interlayers, and solar-control glass as options across higher trims.

Green tinting is present on the vast majority of Clio windscreens as a factory standard — a subtle heat-rejection feature most owners don't notice. The VIN notch (a stamped box along the bottom showing the chassis number) appears on most variants, aiding parts identification.
