Porsche 997 windscreen price, by year

Pricing varies with the specific variant, driven primarily by glass specification — all 997 windscreens carry integrated features like antenna, rain sensor, and solar control, which add complexity to sourcing and fitting compared to simpler models.

Variants with grey sun strip specification may have slightly different sourcing timelines than those without, depending on supplier availability, but feature matching remains the priority across all jobs.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Porsche 997 windscreen replacement

Replacing your 997 windscreen follows a straightforward process from online quote through to fitting day.

  1. 1

Answer a guided quiz on the UKCG website — year, trim, and key features are confirmed in under 60 seconds, and you'll receive an instant quote.

  2. 2

Complete your booking online in about two minutes, choosing your preferred date and whether you'd like a mobile fit at your address or a workshop visit.

  3. 3

UKCG's parts-check team verifies the exact windscreen specification (antenna, encapsulation, rain sensor, solar control, VIN notch, sun strip) that matches your 997.

  4. 4

A technician from our network is matched to your job based on location and availability.

  5. 5

On fitting day, the technician removes your damaged windscreen, fits your replacement, and confirms the minimum drive-away time before you leave.

  6. 6

Your replacement is covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Book with confidence — the 997's integrated windscreen features are well-established, and our network specialists handle them routinely.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your 997?

Most 997 windscreen replacements are carried out as mobile fits at your address, which is convenient and minimises disruption. Your preferred location — mobile or workshop — is selected during the online booking process.

Because the 997 generation predates camera-based driver assistance systems, no post-fit calibration is required, so a mobile appointment is fully self-contained and requires no follow-up workshop visit.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Vin Notch2
    2004–2013

On the Porsche 997: fitted on every one of the 2 windscreen variants we list; model years 2004–2013.

A printed VIN reference box along the bottom edge of your windscreen helps identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

    What it means

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) notch is a small printed or etched box positioned along the lower edge of the windscreen that displays your vehicle's chassis number. This reference marking is a manufacturing and administrative feature, allowing quick visual identification of the vehicle without needing to consult documents. It's particularly useful for service records, insurance claims, and vehicle registration purposes. The notch itself doesn't affect the structural integrity or safety performance of the glass.

    How to tell

Look along the bottom edge of your windscreen — typically in one of the lower corners — for a small rectangular box containing printed digits or characters. If you're uncertain, check your vehicle's service handbook or ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your model includes this feature.

    Replacement impact

When your windscreen is replaced, the new glass will retain the VIN notch printed or etched by the manufacturer. This is a standard feature on replacement windscreens for compatible vehicles and requires no additional work or adjustment. The notch does not affect glass fitting, cure time, or any post-replacement calibration procedures.

About the Porsche 997

The Porsche 997, produced from 2004 to 2013, represents the final generation of the air-cooled 911 architecture before the transition to direct injection. Across its nine-year production run, windscreen technology evolved significantly to support the model's performance and luxury positioning.

All 997 windscreens feature laminated construction with integrated antenna, encapsulation, rain sensor, solar-control coating, and VIN notch. The majority carry a grey sun strip — a factory-applied tinted band at the top of the windscreen that reduces glare from above. These features are standard across active variants in our catalogue.

The 997 generation predates widespread ADAS adoption in the Porsche line, so no camera-dependent calibration is required after windscreen replacement on these models.
