The Range Rover Velar arrived in 2016 as Land Rover's mid-size luxury SUV, bridging the gap between the Evoque and full-size Range Rover. Every model year carries an acoustic laminated windscreen as standard, which reduces cabin noise on the motorway and is a hallmark of premium Land Rover specification.
From launch, the Velar was equipped with the InControl driver assistance suite, featuring a forward-facing mono camera mounted behind the windscreen. This camera powers Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Forward Collision Warning — safety features that require professional recalibration after windscreen replacement.
Most variants also feature rain sensors for automatic wipers, a VIN notch at the base of the glass, and encapsulated edges where the rubber trim is factory-bonded to the glass itself. Solar-control and heated-windscreen options appear on higher trim levels, making glass specification vary significantly across the range.
