Hyundai i20 windscreen price, by year

Prices vary across generations and trim levels, primarily driven by ADAS equipment and calibration complexity. Earlier i20s without SmartSense camera systems are the most straightforward and affordable; later variants with the forward-facing camera require post-replacement calibration, which adds workshop time and specialist tooling costs. Solar-control and acoustic options on select trims also influence the final figure.

Year Price range Quote
2026 £304 — £773 Price my 2026
2025 £304 — £773 Price my 2025

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

Up/Down Door Glass Replacement

Booked the job online Wednesday morning (process was easy), booked in, glass sourced and completed at my home address Friday morning (at a very competitive rate) - Great service! Note: UKCG subcontract your work out to local businesses. So go and give your local fitter a review aswell

What to expect during your Hyundai i20 windscreen replacement

Booking your i20 windscreen replacement through UKCG takes minutes, and the whole process is straightforward.

  1. 1

Start with our quick online quote — answer a few questions about your i20's generation and features to identify the exact windscreen variant you need.

  2. 2

You'll be matched with an approved fitter in your area; they'll confirm availability and discuss whether mobile fitting at your home or a workshop visit suits you best.

  3. 3

If your i20 has SmartSense (camera-equipped variants), you'll be booked at a workshop where the glass is fitted and static camera calibration is completed on the same day.

  4. 4

On fitting day, the technician replaces the windscreen, transfers any trim covers, and completes any calibration required. Typical fitting time is longer for camera-equipped models due to the calibration process.

  5. 5

Your fitter will confirm the minimum drive-away time before leaving — this varies based on adhesive type and ambient conditions.

  6. 6

You're covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Trusted by thousands of UK drivers, UKCG's network of approved fitters handles i20 replacements across all generations and trim levels.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your i20?

Most i20 windscreen replacements can be fitted at your home via mobile visit. However, if your i20 is fitted with Hyundai's SmartSense camera system (present on about half of active variants), the entire job — glass replacement plus static calibration — is carried out at a workshop.

This is because static calibration requires a controlled indoor environment with printed targets positioned at manufacturer-specified distances. We never split the job across locations; booking at a single workshop ensures calibration is completed and safety systems are verified before you drive away.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

    2015–2026

On the Hyundai i20: fitted on 5 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (38%); model years 2015–2026.

A defogging detector automatically clears condensation from your windscreen, improving visibility in damp conditions.

    What it means

A defogging detector is a sensor that monitors moisture levels on the windscreen and triggers the demister system automatically when condensation builds up. It improves driver visibility and safety in damp or cold weather by preventing manual intervention. The sensor typically sits near the rear-view mirror, positioned to sense moisture accumulation on the glass surface.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or ask your dealer's service centre whether your model includes an automatic defogging or moisture-sensing demister. Look near the rear-view mirror for a small sensor unit. Some vehicles display an indicator light or message on the dashboard when the system is active.

    Replacement impact

The defogging detector does not affect windscreen replacement or require recalibration after fitting. The sensor itself remains in place and continues to function once the new windscreen is installed. No additional calibration, cure time, or specialist procedures are needed.

  • Bracket For Safety Features3
    2020–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Hyundai i20: fitted on 3 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (23%); model years 2020–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

    What it means

A moulded trim cover that surrounds the camera and sensor cluster at the top of the windscreen, below the rear-view mirror — typically transferred from the old glass to the new one.

    On your Hyundai i20

Found on camera-equipped i20 variants; the trim is usually reused during replacement or supplied with the new windscreen.

  • Solar Control2
    2009–2015

On the Hyundai i20: fitted on 2 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (15%); model years 2009–2015.

    What it means

A solar-coated windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared rays, helping to keep the cabin cooler on hot days.

    On your Hyundai i20

An optional feature on select higher-spec i20 trims; confirmed during the quote process.

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)1
    2022–2026

On the Hyundai i20: fitted on 1 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (8%); model years 2022–2026.

Acoustic glass reduces cabin noise for a quieter, more comfortable ride.

    What it means

Acoustic windscreen glass is laminated with a special acoustic interlayer that absorbs and dampens sound vibrations. It reduces exterior noise—from traffic, wind, and road surface—before it enters the passenger compartment. This makes the cabin noticeably quieter and creates a more peaceful driving experience. It's a comfort feature, not a safety one; standard laminated windscreens already meet impact safety requirements.

    How to tell

Check your windscreen for an ear symbol, the word 'Acoustic', a capital 'A', or the term 'SoundScreen' printed in one of the four corners. These markings indicate acoustic-grade glass. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre whether your model came fitted with acoustic glass—it's often a factory option on comfort or premium trims.

    Replacement impact

Acoustic glass is always laminated and bonds to the frame like any standard windscreen, so replacement follows the normal bonded-glass procedure. No specialist calibration is required. The replacement technician will fit it using standard adhesive and sealant. Cure time and drive-away restrictions are identical to standard laminated windscreens. Acoustic glass is widely available as an aftermarket OE-equivalent option.

  • Heated Windscreen1
    2022–2026

On the Hyundai i20: fitted on 1 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (8%); model years 2022–2026.

Heated windscreens use embedded wires to quickly clear ice and condensation in cold weather.

    What it means

A heated windscreen is integrated with a fine mesh of electrical wires embedded within the glass itself. When activated, these wires generate heat to warm the windscreen surface, helping to rapidly clear frost, ice, and condensation during cold or damp conditions. This feature improves visibility and safety in winter driving and reduces reliance on engine heat and demister air, which can be slower on very cold mornings.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or contact your dealership service centre — they can confirm whether your model includes this feature. Look for a dashboard symbol (usually a windscreen icon with heat waves) when you activate the function, or check your infotainment settings for a heating or climate option linked to the windscreen. Some vehicles have a dedicated button on the stalk or console.

    Replacement impact

Heated windscreens require replacement glass to be of the correct heated specification — standard unheated glass cannot be fitted. The replacement glass must be sourced to match your vehicle's exact heated-wire configuration. Installation is straightforward, though the technician will confirm the heating element is functioning correctly after fitting. No calibration is required for this feature.

About the Hyundai i20

The Hyundai i20 has been in continuous production since 2008, evolving through multiple generations as a practical city car popular across the UK market.

Earlier generations feature straightforward laminated windscreens with a VIN notch (present on all variants), while later models introduce green-tinted glass as standard on the vast majority of variants. From the mid-2010s onwards, higher trim levels began including rain sensors for automatic wiper activation.

The most significant shift comes with Hyundai's SmartSense ADAS suite, introduced on camera-equipped variants. These models require static camera calibration whenever the windscreen is replaced — a procedure carried out at a workshop using Hyundai's diagnostic tools and calibration targets.
