He called ahead of time as promised and was bang on time . Paul was polite professional and efficient and it was all done in under an hour. Arrived on time, took a little bit longer to replace the rear window on a corsa hatchback but the work was excellent and all the broken glass was retrieved and disposed of. The guy from UK glass was very thorough and I would recommend this company should you need any car windows/windscreens replacing.

What to expect during your Vauxhall Vivaro rear window replacement

Here's how a rear window replacement through UKCG typically unfolds.

  1. 1

You receive an instant online quote via our quick variant quiz — takes under 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Once booked, our parts-check team verifies the exact glass specification for your Vivaro, confirming features like heating, antenna, and tint.

  3. 3

A specialist from our network near you is matched to your job and contacts you to arrange a time.

  4. 4

The fitter arrives at your address or workshop of choice; replacement typically takes 30–60 minutes of hands-on time. A shattered rear window means shard cleanup is a significant part of the job — your fitter will remove accessible broken glass, though small shards can lodge in places that need deeper cleaning.

  5. 5

After fitting, your fitter confirms the drive-away time (depending on the adhesive used) before you leave.

  6. 6

For a thorough interior clean and to ensure all glass fragments are removed, we recommend a professional valet afterwards.

Your replacement is covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Vivaro?

Most Vivaro rear window replacements are carried out at your address or a workshop of your choice — mobile fitting is the standard option. Since Vivaro rear windows do not carry forward-facing cameras or ADAS equipment, there is no calibration requirement after fitting, making the job straightforward for mobile scheduling.

If weather conditions are poor or site access is challenging, you may prefer a workshop visit for your own convenience — discussed with your matched specialist when they contact you.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your Vivaro have?

Tap a feature to see what it is, how to spot it on your car, and how it affects glass replacement. We confirm the exact match for your vehicle when you book.

  • Green8
    2001–2026

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Solar Control8
    2001–2026

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen6
    2001–2026

Heated rear windscreen with integrated wires clears mist and ice when you switch on the demister.

    What it means

A heated rear windscreen contains fine heating wires embedded within the glass. When you activate the rear demister, an electrical current passes through these wires, warming the glass and melting ice or condensation. This feature is particularly useful in cold or damp weather, improving rear visibility quickly. The heating grid is integral to the glass and connected to your vehicle's electrical circuit via connectors at the base of the windscreen.

    How to tell

Look at the rear windscreen from inside the vehicle — you will see a fine grid of horizontal lines across the glass, typically bronze or copper in colour. On the dashboard or steering wheel stalk, there will be a dedicated rear-demist button, usually marked with a windscreen symbol and heating lines. If in doubt, ask your vehicle's service centre or consult your handbook.

    Replacement impact

Replacement rear windscreens with heated grids are widely available as original-equipment aftermarket or dealership parts. The new glass must include the factory heating grid and electrical connectors intact. The technician will reconnect the heating circuit to your vehicle's rear-demist switch. Heated rear windscreens are bonded glass, so adhesive cure time applies; drive-away time will be confirmed by the fitter on the day.

  • Heated Windscreen2
    2001–2014

Heated windscreens use embedded wires to quickly clear ice and condensation in cold weather.

    What it means

A heated windscreen is integrated with a fine mesh of electrical wires embedded within the glass itself. When activated, these wires generate heat to warm the windscreen surface, helping to rapidly clear frost, ice, and condensation during cold or damp conditions. This feature improves visibility and safety in winter driving and reduces reliance on engine heat and demister air, which can be slower on very cold mornings.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or contact your dealership service centre — they can confirm whether your model includes this feature. Look for a dashboard symbol (usually a windscreen icon with heat waves) when you activate the function, or check your infotainment settings for a heating or climate option linked to the windscreen. Some vehicles have a dedicated button on the stalk or console.

    Replacement impact

Heated windscreens require replacement glass to be of the correct heated specification — standard unheated glass cannot be fitted. The replacement glass must be sourced to match your vehicle's exact heated-wire configuration. Installation is straightforward, though the technician will confirm the heating element is functioning correctly after fitting. No calibration is required for this feature.

  • TV Antenna2
    2001–2014

A TV-reception aerial printed into the rear window, typically for in-car entertainment systems.

    What it means

A TV antenna is an aerial pattern laminated into the rear windscreen or rear side window to receive broadcast television signals. It's a separate system from the vehicle's radio or mobile antenna and is typically found in vehicles equipped with rear-seat entertainment systems. The antenna is printed directly onto or into the glass during manufacture, so when the glass is replaced, the antenna pattern must be reproduced on the replacement to maintain reception quality.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or handbook for rear-seat entertainment or TV tuner capability. If your car has a rear-seat entertainment system with a TV tuner, the rear window will have a TV antenna. You can also ask your dealer or service centre to confirm whether your vehicle has this feature.

    Replacement impact

When the rear window is replaced, the replacement glass must include the matching TV antenna print to preserve reception. OEM (original equipment manufacturer) glass is typically required to ensure the antenna pattern is identical. The antenna is passive and requires no calibration or specialist procedures after fitting. Cure time for bonded rear glass is required; the fitter will confirm the drive-away time on the day.

  • Unheated Rear Windscreen2
    2001–2014

A rear window without heating elements — selected when the model's standard specification includes a heated rear glass option.

    What it means

An unheated rear window is a variant specification where the rear glass does not include integrated electric heating wires. Many vehicle models offer heated rear glass as standard or as an option to demist the window quickly in cold or wet conditions. An unheated rear window omits this feature entirely. It is a cost-conscious choice and remains fully functional for visibility and weather protection — demisting simply takes longer and relies on the vehicle's cabin heating system alone.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or service documentation. If your model range lists 'heated rear window' or 'rear demister' as a standard or optional feature and your car does not have it, you have an unheated variant. You can also look at the rear window itself — a heated rear window shows a faint pattern of horizontal heating wires when you look closely at the glass. An unheated window appears completely clear with no wire pattern visible.

    Replacement impact

Replacement glass must match your original specification. If your vehicle has an unheated rear window, the replacement must also be unheated — you cannot fit a heated variant without additional wiring and control-module work, which falls outside standard glass replacement scope. Conversely, if heated glass is standard for your model and you wish to stay unheated, confirm this choice at booking. No calibration is involved with rear-window replacement.

About the Vauxhall Vivaro

The Vauxhall Vivaro has been in continuous production since 2001, serving as a practical light commercial vehicle across multiple generations. Rear windows on the Vivaro are typically toughened glass — standard across the range, though some variants feature integrated heating for improved visibility in poor weather.

Glass features across the catalogue include green-tint and solar-control coatings, which absorb the sun's infrared rays to keep the cabin cooler. Some variants also carry TV antenna prints laminated into the rear glass for rear-seat entertainment systems, preserving reception when the original is replaced.
