Mitsubishi ASX rear window price, by year

Pricing varies primarily by generation and whether the ASX is equipped with ADAS safety features. Models without camera systems are more affordable; later ASX variants with Mitsubishi's MI-PILOT Assist suite incur additional calibration costs after windscreen replacement, though rear-window replacement itself remains straightforward.

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Mitsubishi ASX rear window replacement

Booking a rear window replacement for your Mitsubishi ASX is a straightforward process from quote to completion.

  1. 1

Complete a quick online quiz to identify your exact ASX variant and confirm rear window specifications.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote and choose your preferred date and location — mobile at your address or workshop.

  3. 3

You're matched with an approved technician in your area who sources the replacement glass and confirms fitting logistics.

  4. 4

On the fitting day, expect around 30–60 minutes of the technician's time to remove the shattered glass, clear accessible shards, and fit the new rear window.

  5. 5

Your technician will confirm the minimum drive-away time before leaving — typically the same-day depending on adhesive conditions.

  6. 6

After fitting, a professional interior valet is recommended to remove any small glass shards that may have lodged in harder-to-reach places like seat mechanisms or trim channels.

Your replacement glass is backed by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your ASX?

Most rear window replacements for the Mitsubishi ASX are carried out mobile at your home or workplace — there's no calibration requirement for rear-window jobs. If severe weather or limited driveway access is a concern, workshop fitting is always available as an alternative. Your technician will discuss location options when confirming your booking.

  • Grey Privacy1
    2010–2026

Dark grey tint on rear windows provides privacy and reduces interior heat and glare.

    What it means

Dark grey tint, formally known as privacy glass, is a factory-applied tint created through a deep-dipping process during glass manufacture. The pigment is infused into the inner surface of the glass, darkening the rear windows (and sometimes rear doors) significantly more than the front. This reduces heat transmission, minimises glare, and obscures the interior from outside view. It's standard on the rear half of many modern vehicles.

    How to tell

Compare the rear side windows and rear window (backlight) to the front side windows — the rear glass will be noticeably darker. Check your vehicle documents or ask your dealership service centre if you're unsure whether your car left the factory with privacy glass.

    Replacement impact

Dark grey tinted glass must be sourced from the Original Equipment Equivalent (OEE) or dealership to ensure colour and transmission match your vehicle's existing rear glass. The tint is integral to the glass itself, not a surface coating, so aftermarket non-tinted glass will look visibly mismatched. Replacement does not require any calibration and follows standard bonded-glass cure times for rear windows.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen1
    2010–2026

Heated rear windscreen with integrated wires clears mist and ice when you switch on the demister.

    What it means

A heated rear windscreen contains fine heating wires embedded within the glass. When you activate the rear demister, an electrical current passes through these wires, warming the glass and melting ice or condensation. This feature is particularly useful in cold or damp weather, improving rear visibility quickly. The heating grid is integral to the glass and connected to your vehicle's electrical circuit via connectors at the base of the windscreen.

    How to tell

Look at the rear windscreen from inside the vehicle — you will see a fine grid of horizontal lines across the glass, typically bronze or copper in colour. On the dashboard or steering wheel stalk, there will be a dedicated rear-demist button, usually marked with a windscreen symbol and heating lines. If in doubt, ask your vehicle's service centre or consult your handbook.

    Replacement impact

Replacement rear windscreens with heated grids are widely available as original-equipment aftermarket or dealership parts. The new glass must include the factory heating grid and electrical connectors intact. The technician will reconnect the heating circuit to your vehicle's rear-demist switch. Heated rear windscreens are bonded glass, so adhesive cure time applies; drive-away time will be confirmed by the fitter on the day.

About the Mitsubishi ASX

The Mitsubishi ASX has been in production since 2010, serving as a compact crossover across multiple generations with consistent rear-hatch design. Rear windows on the ASX are toughened glass, typically featuring dark-tinted panels that are darker than the front side windows.

Earlier ASX models carry straightforward rear windows without integrated features, while later variants may include additional refinements. Mitsubishi ASX models fitted with ADAS systems such as Forward Collision Mitigation and Lane Keep Assist use a forward-facing camera mounted behind the windscreen, which may require recalibration after any windscreen replacement.
