Hyundai Tucson rear window price, by year

Prices vary mainly by generation and the features integrated into the rear glass. Heated rear windows, privacy tinting, and dark-tinted side glass add to the cost compared to standard clear rear glass. Newer Tucsons with these options tend to be more expensive to replace than earlier models without them.

Great fitter, poor office back up

Super quick service and a top technician who was efficient and professional. Cannot give 5 stars as the messaging service is poor to say the least. Failed to pick up a message giving new location of my vehicle. Wasted the fitters time. Useless AI as per usual I expect?

Very pleased with UK Glass

I checked on line for a windscreen company and found UK Glass. From the booking on line to the job being completed all went well. After booking I had a phone call to confirm all the details. A day and date were given for the replacement at my home, Two very competent and friendly windscreen fitters arrived on time and completed the job to complete satisfaction.

The service was quite expensive I thought i was spending less than 50% of buying a new glass but it s what is it is .... thanks for the service and availability

What to expect during your Hyundai Tucson rear window replacement

Booking a rear-window replacement through UKCG takes just a few minutes, and your fitter will handle the shattered glass and fit a matched replacement.

  1. 1

Answer a brief online quiz about your Tucson's year, trim, and features — this identifies your exact rear-glass specification.

  2. 2

Review the instant quote and confirm your booking in under two minutes.

  3. 3

A technician near you is matched to the job and contacts you to arrange a date and time.

  4. 4

On the day, your fitter removes the shattered rear window, clears accessible glass shards, and fits the replacement. A shattered rear window creates lots of small glass fragments; whilst your fitter will remove what they can reach, deeper cleaning may need a professional valet afterwards.

  5. 5

Your fitter confirms the drive-away time before leaving — typically the same as for other glass replacements.

  6. 6

You're covered by a two-year warranty on the workmanship and glass quality.

Rear-window jobs are usually faster than windscreen replacements, and your car is ready to drive in the timeframe your fitter confirms.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Tucson?

Most Tucson rear-window replacements are fitted mobile at your address, as rear glass doesn't require ADAS calibration. Your fitter will work on your driveway or car park and typically completes the job within 30–60 minutes of active work time.

If you'd prefer a workshop appointment, that's available too — just let us know at booking. Because the rear window is shattered, professional cleanup afterwards (a valet) is often worthwhile to remove small shards that may lodge in hard-to-reach places.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen4
    2015–2026

On the Hyundai Tucson: fitted on every one of the 4 rear window variants we list; model years 2015–2026.

    What it means

Integrated heating wires in the rear glass that clear mist and ice when the demister is switched on, improving visibility in winter.

    On your Hyundai Tucson

If your Tucson has a rear demist button on the dashboard, it likely has a heated rear window; this is confirmed during the quote.

  • Green2
    2015–2026

On the Hyundai Tucson: fitted on 2 of the 4 rear window variants we list (50%); model years 2015–2026.

    What it means

A subtle green tint in the glass that reduces sun glare and heat. This is harder to spot than it sounds — nearly all modern glass has some level of tint.

    On your Hyundai Tucson

Confirmed during the quote process; most mid-range and higher trims include green-tinted rear glass.

  • Grey Privacy2
    2021–2026

On the Hyundai Tucson: fitted on 2 of the 4 rear window variants we list (50%); model years 2021–2026.

Dark grey tint on rear windows provides privacy and reduces interior heat and glare.

    What it means

Dark grey tint, formally known as privacy glass, is a factory-applied tint created through a deep-dipping process during glass manufacture. The pigment is infused into the inner surface of the glass, darkening the rear windows (and sometimes rear doors) significantly more than the front. This reduces heat transmission, minimises glare, and obscures the interior from outside view. It's standard on the rear half of many modern vehicles.

    How to tell

Compare the rear side windows and rear window (backlight) to the front side windows — the rear glass will be noticeably darker. Check your vehicle documents or ask your dealership service centre if you're unsure whether your car left the factory with privacy glass.

    Replacement impact

Dark grey tinted glass must be sourced from the Original Equipment Equivalent (OEE) or dealership to ensure colour and transmission match your vehicle's existing rear glass. The tint is integral to the glass itself, not a surface coating, so aftermarket non-tinted glass will look visibly mismatched. Replacement does not require any calibration and follows standard bonded-glass cure times for rear windows.

  • Green Privacy1
    2015–2020

On the Hyundai Tucson: fitted on 1 of the 4 rear window variants we list (25%); model years 2015–2020.

Dark green tint on rear and side windows is a factory colour choice, not a safety or performance feature.

    What it means

Dark green is a factory tint applied to the glass during manufacture. It's purely aesthetic — a colour variant chosen by the vehicle designer to complement the body paint and interior trim. Unlike some tints that reduce solar heat or glare, dark green is decorative. Most vehicles have standard or light green glass; dark green is less common and typically found on specific trim levels or model years.

    How to tell

Look at your rear and side windows from outside the car in daylight. If they appear noticeably darker or more saturated green than the front windscreen, you likely have dark green glass. You can also check your vehicle's specification sheet from the dealer or original documentation — tint colour is sometimes listed under 'glass' or 'exterior finishes'. If uncertain, ask your local dealership service centre.

    Replacement impact

Dark green replacement glass must match the original tint colour exactly — a standard or light green windscreen will look visibly mismatched against dark green rear windows. Sourcing the correct variant can take slightly longer than standard glass, as it's less common. No calibration is involved with tinted glass itself. Fitting and cure time are unaffected.

  • Solar Control1
    2015–2021

On the Hyundai Tucson: fitted on 1 of the 4 rear window variants we list (25%); model years 2015–2021.

    What it means

A special coating that absorbs infrared rays from the sun, keeping the interior cooler on hot days.

    On your Hyundai Tucson

This is a premium spec option on higher trims; confirmed during the quote if your model includes it.

About the Hyundai Tucson

The Hyundai Tucson has been in continuous production since 2004, evolving through multiple generations with steady improvements to glass specification and safety features.

Earlier Tucson models carry straightforward rear glass, whilst newer variants from the mid-2010s onwards may include heated rear windows for demisting, dark-tinted side glass, or privacy-tinted rear panes depending on trim and specification.

Younger Tucson models may also feature Hyundai's SmartSense ADAS suite, though this is primarily windscreen-mounted and doesn't directly affect rear-window replacement.
