Very quick and easy to contact

Very quick and easy to contact, the garage at shaw Lane doncaster allowed me to keep the car there over night as it had been broken into. They were quick and efficient and contacted me the next day. Even hoovered out the Broken glass. Thanks again uk glass.

5 stars from start to finish

I received an instant quote from UK Car Glass, £200 cheaper than a competitor for a full windscreen replacement. Booked it, technician arrived when he said he would, communication throughout was outstanding and the work done was top notch. I couldn't fault the service I received, 5 stars.

Booking on line took order and confirmed the window screen replacement for this Tuesday, arranged to travel and take time from work only to get an email today to say can not be done until next week. Terrible service (or lack of service)

Misleading pricing practice

I submitted the details of my vehicle including license plate (from which they can get the VIN) and was given a quote for a replacement windscreen with calibration and home installation. It was a good price compared to competitors and the technician would have been able to repair at home. I accepted the quote and made payment for £889.11, and waited for the confirmation of date and time of installment. 18 hours later I received a call saying that a technician would be able to come out tomorrow to install, however the price quoted was incorrect and in fact it would be £200 more expensive as they got the windscreen part number wrong. Very annoying and potentially misleading pricing practice. I told them to recredit my card and that I would look elsewhere

What to expect during your Hyundai i10 rear window replacement

Booking your rear-window replacement is straightforward and takes just a couple of minutes online.

  1. 1

Answer a quick quiz about your i10's model year and trim to identify the exact glass variant you need.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote tailored to your car's specification.

  3. 3

Book a fitting appointment at a time that suits you — mobile fitting at your address is the standard option.

  4. 4

A specialist from our network will arrive with your matched replacement glass and complete the fit, typically within 30–60 minutes.

  5. 5

We'll confirm your minimum drive-away time before we leave; shard cleanup is part of the job, though we recommend a professional valet afterwards for a thorough interior clean.

  6. 6

Your replacement is covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

From quote to fitted glass, the whole process is designed to be simple and stress-free.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your i10?

The Hyundai i10 is not equipped with windscreen-mounted ADAS cameras, so rear-window replacement does not require calibration or workshop visits on safety grounds. Fitting takes place at your address as standard — mobile appointment at home, driveway, or workplace.

Workshop fitting is available if you prefer it, but it's not a requirement for this model. Your fitter will confirm everything is ready before you drive away.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen4
    2008–2025

Heated rear windscreen with integrated wires clears mist and ice when you switch on the demister.

    What it means

A heated rear windscreen contains fine heating wires embedded within the glass. When you activate the rear demister, an electrical current passes through these wires, warming the glass and melting ice or condensation. This feature is particularly useful in cold or damp weather, improving rear visibility quickly. The heating grid is integral to the glass and connected to your vehicle's electrical circuit via connectors at the base of the windscreen.

    How to tell

Look at the rear windscreen from inside the vehicle — you will see a fine grid of horizontal lines across the glass, typically bronze or copper in colour. On the dashboard or steering wheel stalk, there will be a dedicated rear-demist button, usually marked with a windscreen symbol and heating lines. If in doubt, ask your vehicle's service centre or consult your handbook.

    Replacement impact

Replacement rear windscreens with heated grids are widely available as original-equipment aftermarket or dealership parts. The new glass must include the factory heating grid and electrical connectors intact. The technician will reconnect the heating circuit to your vehicle's rear-demist switch. Heated rear windscreens are bonded glass, so adhesive cure time applies; drive-away time will be confirmed by the fitter on the day.

  • Green2
    2008–2020

Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort by filtering certain light wavelengths.

    What it means

Green tint is a light-filtering coating applied to the glass during manufacture. It absorbs and reduces transmission of certain wavelengths of light, primarily to cut glare from sunlight and reflections. The tint is subtle — often barely visible to the naked eye — but measurably improves visual comfort during prolonged driving, particularly in bright conditions. It's a factory specification chosen by the vehicle manufacturer to balance daylight comfort with interior visibility and aesthetic consistency across all glass in the vehicle.

    How to tell

The easiest way to check is to roll your side window halfway down and hold a piece of white paper behind it. Look carefully for a tint cast — green tint will appear as a subtle green hue compared to clear glass. Your windscreen will have the same tint as your side windows. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre — they'll have the original specification on file.

    Replacement impact

Green-tinted replacement glass must match the original tint specification to maintain visual consistency across all windows and preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Aftermarket OE-equivalent (OEE) green-tinted glass is widely available, though some vehicles may require original equipment (OEM) dealership glass if the tint specification is proprietary. Tint does not affect calibration, cure time, or installation procedure — it's a cosmetic and functional specification only.

  • Grey Privacy2
    2014–2025

Dark grey tint on rear windows provides privacy and reduces interior heat and glare.

    What it means

Dark grey tint, formally known as privacy glass, is a factory-applied tint created through a deep-dipping process during glass manufacture. The pigment is infused into the inner surface of the glass, darkening the rear windows (and sometimes rear doors) significantly more than the front. This reduces heat transmission, minimises glare, and obscures the interior from outside view. It's standard on the rear half of many modern vehicles.

    How to tell

Compare the rear side windows and rear window (backlight) to the front side windows — the rear glass will be noticeably darker. Check your vehicle documents or ask your dealership service centre if you're unsure whether your car left the factory with privacy glass.

    Replacement impact

Dark grey tinted glass must be sourced from the Original Equipment Equivalent (OEE) or dealership to ensure colour and transmission match your vehicle's existing rear glass. The tint is integral to the glass itself, not a surface coating, so aftermarket non-tinted glass will look visibly mismatched. Replacement does not require any calibration and follows standard bonded-glass cure times for rear windows.

About the Hyundai i10

The Hyundai i10 has been in continuous production since 2008, establishing itself as a reliable city car across multiple generations. Over this span, rear-window glass has evolved from straightforward toughened panes to variants incorporating privacy tint and factory-fitted hardware brackets.

Three-quarters of i10 models in our catalogue carry additional hardware bonded to the rear glass — these brackets and mounts integrate seamlessly into a factory-spec replacement, so no extra assembly is needed. Roughly half carry green-tinted glass, while some carry darker privacy tint to match the car's style and thermal comfort profile.
