Taylor Windscreens were brilliant

Ash and Liah fitted a new windscreen in our Fiat campervan last month. We simply could not have been happier with the service. They are a lovely couple and completed a fantastic job, at a very competitive price. Avoid the big boys, and support this brilliant small business, with personal service.

What to expect during your FIAT Scudo rear window replacement

Rear-window replacement is straightforward and typically completes within a couple of hours.

  1. 1

You book through UK Car Glass using our online quote tool, answering a few questions about your Scudo's year and features.

  2. 2

Our parts-check team confirms the exact glass variant needed for your vehicle.

  3. 3

We match you with a technician in your area — mobile fitting at your address is the default, or you can choose a workshop if you prefer.

  4. 4

On the day, your technician removes the shattered window, clears accessible glass shards, and fits your replacement.

  5. 5

A shattered rear window means glass fragments can lodge in hard-to-reach places like under seats or trim channels — we recommend a professional valet afterwards for thorough detailing.

  6. 6

You're covered by our two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Mobile fitting at your premises is the standard, but contact us if you'd prefer a workshop visit.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Scudo?

The Scudo's rear window is typically fitted mobile at your address — no special calibration or technical constraints. Most technicians in our network carry the equipment needed for mobile rear-window replacement, including shard cleanup.

Choose a workshop visit if you prefer — either option is available through UK Car Glass. If your location is awkward for a mobile visit, contact us and we'll discuss the best arrangement.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your Scudo have?

Tap a feature to see what it is, how to spot it on your car, and how it affects glass replacement. We confirm the exact match for your vehicle when you book.

  • Green4
    2006–2026

On the FIAT Scudo: fitted on every one of the 4 rear window variants we list; model years 2006–2026.

    What it means

A subtle green tint in the glass that absorbs light — present on virtually all modern glass but easy to miss.

    On your FIAT Scudo

Confirmed during the quote process; your technician will verify the exact tint your Scudo carries.

  • Solar Control4
    2006–2026

On the FIAT Scudo: fitted on every one of the 4 rear window variants we list; model years 2006–2026.

    What it means

A solar-control coating that absorbs the sun's infrared rays, helping reduce cabin heat in summer.

    On your FIAT Scudo

Standard across all active Scudo variants; no trim or option selection needed.

  • Heated Rear Windscreen3
    2006–2026

On the FIAT Scudo: fitted on 3 of the 4 rear window variants we list (75%); model years 2006–2026.

Heated rear windscreen with integrated wires clears mist and ice when you switch on the demister.

    What it means

A heated rear windscreen contains fine heating wires embedded within the glass. When you activate the rear demister, an electrical current passes through these wires, warming the glass and melting ice or condensation. This feature is particularly useful in cold or damp weather, improving rear visibility quickly. The heating grid is integral to the glass and connected to your vehicle's electrical circuit via connectors at the base of the windscreen.

    How to tell

Look at the rear windscreen from inside the vehicle — you will see a fine grid of horizontal lines across the glass, typically bronze or copper in colour. On the dashboard or steering wheel stalk, there will be a dedicated rear-demist button, usually marked with a windscreen symbol and heating lines. If in doubt, ask your vehicle's service centre or consult your handbook.

    Replacement impact

Replacement rear windscreens with heated grids are widely available as original-equipment aftermarket or dealership parts. The new glass must include the factory heating grid and electrical connectors intact. The technician will reconnect the heating circuit to your vehicle's rear-demist switch. Heated rear windscreens are bonded glass, so adhesive cure time applies; drive-away time will be confirmed by the fitter on the day.

  • Brake Light1
    2006–2026

On the FIAT Scudo: fitted on 1 of the 4 rear window variants we list (25%); model years 2006–2026.

    What it means

A high-level brake light integrated into the rear window — when present, the replacement glass must carry the same pattern so the lighting circuit reconnects cleanly.

    On your FIAT Scudo

Only found on specific Scudo variants; our quote process will flag this if your model carries it.

  • Unheated Rear Windscreen1
    2006–2026

On the FIAT Scudo: fitted on 1 of the 4 rear window variants we list (25%); model years 2006–2026.

A rear window without heating elements — selected when the model's standard specification includes a heated rear glass option.

    What it means

An unheated rear window is a variant specification where the rear glass does not include integrated electric heating wires. Many vehicle models offer heated rear glass as standard or as an option to demist the window quickly in cold or wet conditions. An unheated rear window omits this feature entirely. It is a cost-conscious choice and remains fully functional for visibility and weather protection — demisting simply takes longer and relies on the vehicle's cabin heating system alone.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or service documentation. If your model range lists 'heated rear window' or 'rear demister' as a standard or optional feature and your car does not have it, you have an unheated variant. You can also look at the rear window itself — a heated rear window shows a faint pattern of horizontal heating wires when you look closely at the glass. An unheated window appears completely clear with no wire pattern visible.

    Replacement impact

Replacement glass must match your original specification. If your vehicle has an unheated rear window, the replacement must also be unheated — you cannot fit a heated variant without additional wiring and control-module work, which falls outside standard glass replacement scope. Conversely, if heated glass is standard for your model and you wish to stay unheated, confirm this choice at booking. No calibration is involved with rear-window replacement.

About the FIAT Scudo

The Fiat Scudo has been in continuous production since 2006, serving as a trusted light commercial vehicle across multiple generations. Rear windows on the Scudo are typically toughened glass, designed to withstand the demands of a working van.

From around 2020 onwards, Fiat's Co-Driver ADAS suite became available on newer Scudo variants, introducing camera-based driver assistance features. Windscreen replacement on these later models requires camera recalibration after fitting. Rear-window replacement itself doesn't trigger ADAS work, but knowing your vehicle's generation helps us match you with the right technician.
