Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

Once you book, our parts check team verifies the exact glass needed and matches you with a technician in your area.

  4. 4

Your technician will either fit the windscreen at your home or workplace (mobile), or at a workshop — depending on whether calibration is needed.

The entire process — from booking to your car being road-ready — is straightforward and supported by our network of experienced glass technicians.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Grand Prius?

Most Grand Prius windscreen replacements can be done at your home or workplace (mobile fitting). However, because all variants in our catalogue are equipped with a forward-facing camera, static calibration is typically required after the glass is fitted.

If calibration is needed, the fitting and calibration are scheduled together at a workshop to ensure the job is completed in one visit and safety systems are correctly aligned before you drive away.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

On the Toyota Grand Prius: fitted on every one of the 1 windscreen variant we list; model years 2012–2026; static calibration required.

    What it means

After windscreen replacement, the forward camera must be aligned using printed targets in a controlled environment to ensure safety systems work correctly.

    On your Toyota Grand Prius

All modern Grand Prius variants with a camera system require this. Your technician will complete it at a workshop if needed, or confirm it's not necessary for your variant.

  • Vin Notch1
    2012–2026

On the Toyota Grand Prius: fitted on every one of the 1 windscreen variant we list; model years 2012–2026.

A printed VIN reference box along the bottom edge of your windscreen helps identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

    What it means

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) notch is a small printed or etched box positioned along the lower edge of the windscreen that displays your vehicle's chassis number. This reference marking is a manufacturing and administrative feature, allowing quick visual identification of the vehicle without needing to consult documents. It's particularly useful for service records, insurance claims, and vehicle registration purposes. The notch itself doesn't affect the structural integrity or safety performance of the glass.

    How to tell

Look along the bottom edge of your windscreen — typically in one of the lower corners — for a small rectangular box containing printed digits or characters. If you're uncertain, check your vehicle's service handbook or ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your model includes this feature.

    Replacement impact

When your windscreen is replaced, the new glass will retain the VIN notch printed or etched by the manufacturer. This is a standard feature on replacement windscreens for compatible vehicles and requires no additional work or adjustment. The notch does not affect glass fitting, cure time, or any post-replacement calibration procedures.

About the Toyota Grand Prius

The Toyota Grand Prius has been in continuous production since 2012, establishing itself as a flagship hybrid model across multiple generations. Its windscreens have evolved significantly to match Toyota's advancing safety technology, particularly the introduction of Toyota Safety Sense with forward-facing camera systems.

All Grand Prius windscreens in our catalogue come equipped with acoustic glass to reduce cabin noise, green-tinted glass for heat control, a rain sensor for automatic wiper activation, and a head-up display feature to keep driving information visible without distraction.

From the mid-2010s onwards, camera-equipped variants introduced the need for static calibration after windscreen replacement — a process that ensures lane-keeping and collision-avoidance systems function safely.
