Renault Grand Espace windscreen price, by year

Price varies primarily with generation and glass specification. Older Grand Espace models without acoustic or encapsulated trim are typically the most affordable option, while later variants with acoustic glass and integrated trim bumpers carry higher replacement costs due to the more complex assembly.

Encapsulated glass — where the rubber gasket arrives pre-bonded to the glass — adds to the material cost and requires specialist fitting technique, which is reflected in the overall price.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Grand Espace?

Most Grand Espace windscreen replacements are fitted mobile at your home or workplace — our approved fitters bring everything needed to complete the job on your driveway.

Since the Grand Espace range does not typically include camera-based ADAS requiring post-fit calibration, workshop visits are rarely necessary. Your fitter will confirm the drive-away time before leaving and your vehicle is ready to use once the adhesive has cured.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Vin Notch3
    1997–2026

On the Renault Grand Espace: fitted on every one of the 3 windscreen variants we list; model years 1997–2026.

    What it means

A small box printed along the bottom edge of the windscreen displaying your vehicle's VIN (chassis number) for identification purposes.

    On your Renault Grand Espace

Present on all current Grand Espace variants — confirmed during the quote process.

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)2
    2002–2026

On the Renault Grand Espace: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2002–2026.

    What it means

A noise-dampening interlayer bonded within the laminated glass, typically marked with an ear symbol or the word 'Acoustic' — reduces cabin noise from wind and road.

    On your Renault Grand Espace

Standard on most modern Grand Espace models; confirmed in the quote if your variant includes it.

  • Green2
    1997–2026

On the Renault Grand Espace: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 1997–2026.

    What it means

A subtle green tint in the glass, barely visible to the naked eye — standard on many vehicles for UV and heat protection.

    On your Renault Grand Espace

Common across Grand Espace models; your replacement will match your original tint and is confirmed during the quote.

  • Clear1
    2002–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Renault Grand Espace: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 2002–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

Clear windscreen glass has no tint; most cars have a slight tint as standard.

    What it means

A clear windscreen contains no added tint layer. Most modern windscreens incorporate a subtle tint (typically blue, green, grey or bronze) as standard to reduce glare, provide UV protection, and improve cabin comfort. A genuinely clear windscreen is the absence of this tint. Clear glass is less common than tinted variants and is sometimes specified for aesthetic or operational reasons, though the tint difference is usually imperceptible to the naked eye.

    How to tell

Lower your side window halfway and hold a white piece of paper behind it. If you see a noticeable colour cast (blue, green, grey or bronze) in the side glass, your windscreen has the same tint. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre to confirm the windscreen specification in your service records.

    Replacement impact

Clear windscreen replacement uses the same installation process as any other windscreen. No special calibration or extended cure time applies. Sourcing is straightforward — clear glass is widely available as an aftermarket replacement. Installation time and drive-away restrictions follow standard windscreen replacement timings. If your vehicle has ADAS features (forward-facing camera or radar), calibration may be required after replacement depending on your specific vehicle; we confirm this when we look up your car details.

Calibration mix across our Renault variants

    • 1None

We confirm the exact procedure for your specific vehicle when you book.

  • Coating1
    2002–2026

On the Renault Grand Espace: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 2002–2026.

    What it means

A thin reflective or tinted coating (often blue or purple) applied to the glass surface for UV and solar heat rejection.

    On your Renault Grand Espace

Present on select Grand Espace variants; if your model has a coated windscreen, it will be specified in your quote.

  • Rain Sensor1
    2002–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Renault Grand Espace: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 2002–2026; no calibration after replacement.

    What it means

An optical sensor mounted behind the windscreen that automatically activates your wipers when it detects rainfall.

    On your Renault Grand Espace

Found only on higher-specification Grand Espace models; if your variant has auto wipers, your replacement will include the sensor bracket.

About the Renault Grand Espace

The Renault Grand Espace has been in continuous production since 1997, evolving through several generations. Early models featured straightforward laminated windscreens, while later variants from the 2000s onwards introduced acoustic glass and encapsulated trim for improved cabin comfort and durability.

Most modern Grand Espace windscreens carry a green or neutral tint as standard — part of the factory specification. Around three-quarters of current variants include acoustic interlayers for noise reduction, and many feature pre-fitted rubber encapsulation, meaning the trim arrives bonded to the glass as one unit.

Rain-sensing wipers appear on a small number of variants, typically higher-specification models. Camera-based ADAS systems are not widely documented across the Grand Espace range in our current data.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

No — the Grand Espace does not feature front-camera ADAS systems that require post-replacement calibration. This means faster turnaround and no need for a workshop visit in most cases. Your fitter will fit the glass and confirm your drive-away time on the day.

Most Grand Espace windscreens carry a subtle green or neutral tint at the factory — you probably don't notice it because it's so faint. This tint is standard for UV and heat rejection. Your replacement will match your original factory specification exactly, so you won't see any colour difference.

That depends on your specific variant and generation. Three-quarters of current Grand Espace models have encapsulated trim — a rubber gasket pre-bonded to the glass at the factory. Your quote will confirm whether your replacement arrives with pre-bonded trim or if the fitter will fit separate trim during installation.

Your fitter typically needs 45–90 minutes of active work to fit your windscreen, depending on the condition of the vehicle frame and whether your glass includes acoustic or encapsulation features. Once fitted, the adhesive cures in the background — your fitter will confirm the minimum drive-away time before leaving, which is usually the same day.
