Mercedes Econic windscreen price, by year

Price variation reflects the Econic's production span and ADAS adoption. Older models without driver assistance systems are typically more affordable to replace, while newer variants equipped with cameras and rain sensors carry higher costs due to calibration requirements and more complex glass specifications. Generation and feature availability drive the range.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Mercedes Econic windscreen replacement

Booking your Econic's windscreen replacement is straightforward — from quote to fitting in a few simple steps.

  1. 1

Complete a quick online quote using our widget — takes about a minute and covers your Econic's specific year and features.

  2. 2

We verify your glass specification during the parts-check phase to ensure an exact factory match, including the green tint and any rain-sensor or camera equipment.

  3. 3

You're matched with an approved fitter near you, who will confirm whether your job suits a mobile visit to your address or a workshop appointment — especially if ADAS calibration is needed.

  4. 4

On fitting day, the technician removes your damaged windscreen, bonds the new glass using factory-approved adhesive, and completes any calibration in parallel. Technician time typically runs 45–90 minutes depending on the vehicle's condition.

  5. 5

Your fitter confirms the minimum drive-away time before leaving — usually the same as non-ADAS jobs because calibration runs alongside adhesive cure.

  6. 6

You're covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality. If any issues arise, contact us with photos and we'll arrange remediation.

Book now for an instant quote, then secure your fitting slot online — most customers complete the entire process in under two minutes.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Econic?

Most Econic windscreen replacements can be completed at your address via a mobile visit. However, if your Econic is equipped with a front-mounted camera and driver assistance system, the fitter may schedule the job at a workshop so that static camera calibration can be completed in a controlled environment with proper target boards.

UCKG never splits jobs across locations — if calibration is needed, the entire replacement and calibration happens at the workshop on the same day. Your fitter will confirm the location during booking and explain why, if applicable.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

About the Mercedes Econic

The Mercedes Econic is a compact commercial vehicle built since 1999, designed for urban delivery and refuse collection work. Its windscreen has evolved alongside the vehicle's generations — early models carry straightforward laminated glass, while later variants introduce rain sensors and camera-mounted ADAS systems for driver assistance.

From around 2022 onwards, newer Econics began receiving front-mounted cameras as part of Mercedes' Driver Assistance Package, requiring specialist calibration after windscreen replacement. All Econics feature a green-tinted windscreen as standard, a feature that must be matched exactly during replacement.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

Mercedes-Benz ADAS calibration after windscreen replacement is a specialist procedure that requires certified technicians and precise factory-spec tools. Some calibrations can be done mobile, but static camera calibration — used on many newer Econics — requires a workshop with target boards and a controlled environment to verify accuracy.

This is a safety-critical step: the camera feeds lane markings, traffic signs, and pedestrian detection to your vehicle's steering and collision systems. We schedule the full job (replacement + calibration) in one place to keep you safe and ensure calibration actually happens.

Yes — if your Econic's windscreen includes a green sun strip (the gradient tint at the top), the replacement glass must be the exact variant to match. Our parts-check team confirms this during the quote process so there's no mismatch on the day.

Technician time typically runs 45–90 minutes, depending on your vehicle's condition and whether camera calibration is involved. If calibration is needed, it runs in parallel with the adhesive cure, so it doesn't extend your drive-away time — your fitter confirms the minimum wait time before you leave.

No — your two-year warranty covers both the glass and the workmanship, including any calibration. We run a diagnostic scan before and after calibration to document your vehicle's status, so pre-existing sensor issues can't be mistaken for ADAS-related warranty claims.
