Mercedes Citan windscreen price, by year

Pricing varies mainly by generation and whether ADAS systems are fitted. Earlier Citans without driver assistance packages are more straightforward replacements. From around 2020 onwards, models equipped with the Driver Assistance Package carry calibration complexity, which is reflected in the final quote. Acoustic glass is standard across all variants, so that feature doesn't create a price split — the variation is primarily generation and ADAS presence.

Year Price range Quote
2026 £401 — £662 Price my 2026
2025 £401 — £662 Price my 2025
2024 £401 — £662 Price my 2024
2023 £401 — £662 Price my 2023
2022 £306 — £662 Price my 2022
2021 £306 — £401 Price my 2021
2020 £306 — £401 Price my 2020

The displayed range is an indicator — the final price is produced by the quote form after you confirm your variant. Older Mercedes Citan models can still be booked.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Mercedes Citan windscreen replacement

Booking your Citan windscreen replacement is straightforward: answer a short quiz about your vehicle, and we'll match you with an approved fitter in your area.

  1. 1

Complete our online quote widget (under 60 seconds) — we ask about your Citan's year, trim, and any features like rain sensors or ADAS packs.

  2. 2

Our parts team confirms your exact glass specification, including whether calibration is needed.

  3. 3

You're matched with a specialist fitter near you who handles Citan replacements regularly.

  4. 4

Fitting day: the technician arrives mobile at your address (or arranges a workshop if ADAS calibration is required). Non-ADAS replacements typically take 45–90 minutes of the fitter's time; ADAS jobs are longer as calibration is completed after the glass is set.

  5. 5

Your fitter confirms the minimum drive-away time before leaving — usually the same as non-ADAS jobs because calibration runs in parallel with adhesive cure.

  6. 6

Aftercare: your replacement glass is covered by our two-year warranty on workmanship and manufacturing defects.

From quote to booking takes under two minutes — our network handles the rest.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Citan?

Most Citan windscreen replacements can be fitted mobile at your base, workshop, or home address. However, if your variant is equipped with the Driver Assistance Package, static camera calibration will be required after the glass is set — this typically needs a workshop environment with calibration target boards. When calibration is needed, we schedule both the replacement and calibration at a workshop to ensure the safety-critical procedure is completed without interruption.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Green3
    2013–2026

On the Mercedes Citan: fitted on every one of the 3 windscreen variants we list; model years 2013–2026.

    What it means

A subtle green tint (standard on most modern vehicles) helps reduce solar heat gain and glare, particularly useful on long drives in bright conditions.

    On your Mercedes Citan

Green tint is present on all Citan windscreens in our network — it's a factory standard that appears on close inspection but is barely visible in normal light. Confirmed at the quote stage; no self-inspection needed.

  • Acoustic (Noise reduction)2
    2013–2026

On the Mercedes Citan: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2013–2026.

    What it means

Acoustic laminated glass reduces cabin noise from wind, traffic, and engine, improving comfort on longer deliveries or passenger work.

    On your Mercedes Citan

Acoustic is standard across all Citan variants in our catalogue — confirmed during your quote. Look for the word 'Acoustic' or an ear symbol on the windscreen itself if inspecting in person, though most owners don't need to check.

  • Rain Sensor2
    2013–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Mercedes Citan: fitted on 2 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (67%); model years 2013–2026; no calibration after replacement.

    What it means

An automatic wiper trigger that detects rain and activates the wipers without the driver touching the stalk — handy for van operators managing deliveries or tools.

    On your Mercedes Citan

Present on approximately half of the Citan variants we fit — typically found on higher-spec trims or later models equipped with driver assistance packages. Confirmed during your online quote.

  • Camera1
    2022–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Mercedes Citan: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 2022–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

A camera mounted near the rear-view mirror monitors the road ahead for lane-keep and traffic-sign features.

    What it means

A forward-facing camera positioned in the windscreen header area (typically mounted on or near the rear-view mirror bracket) captures video of the road ahead. This camera feeds data to driver-assistance systems such as lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, and traffic-sign recognition. The camera is a core component of modern ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and requires precise alignment after windscreen replacement to ensure these safety features function correctly.

    How to tell

Look for a small dark triangular or lens-shaped component mounted in the black plastic trim area above the windscreen, typically centred near the rear-view mirror or slightly to one side. Your vehicle's handbook or infotainment menu may reference 'Lane Assist', 'Traffic Sign Recognition', or 'Autonomous Emergency Braking'. Ask your dealer or service centre directly if your car is equipped with a forward-facing camera system.

    Replacement impact

Windscreen replacement on camera-equipped vehicles requires calibration of the camera system after the new glass is fitted. The exact calibration procedure—whether static (using a target board in a controlled environment) or dynamic (road-based)—varies by vehicle make, model, and year. We confirm the precise calibration requirement when we look up your specific vehicle. Calibration ensures lane-keep, sign recognition, and emergency-braking systems function safely. This may extend the fitting schedule and may necessitate workshop-based fitting rather than mobile attendance.

  • Solar Control1
    2022–2026

On the Mercedes Citan: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 2022–2026.

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

  • Vin Notch1
    2022–2026

On the Mercedes Citan: fitted on 1 of the 3 windscreen variants we list (33%); model years 2022–2026.

A printed VIN reference box along the bottom edge of your windscreen helps identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

    What it means

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) notch is a small printed or etched box positioned along the lower edge of the windscreen that displays your vehicle's chassis number. This reference marking is a manufacturing and administrative feature, allowing quick visual identification of the vehicle without needing to consult documents. It's particularly useful for service records, insurance claims, and vehicle registration purposes. The notch itself doesn't affect the structural integrity or safety performance of the glass.

    How to tell

Look along the bottom edge of your windscreen — typically in one of the lower corners — for a small rectangular box containing printed digits or characters. If you're uncertain, check your vehicle's service handbook or ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your model includes this feature.

    Replacement impact

When your windscreen is replaced, the new glass will retain the VIN notch printed or etched by the manufacturer. This is a standard feature on replacement windscreens for compatible vehicles and requires no additional work or adjustment. The notch does not affect glass fitting, cure time, or any post-replacement calibration procedures.

About the Mercedes Citan

The Mercedes Citan is a compact light commercial vehicle built on the Renault Kangoo platform, serving owner-operators and small trades since 2013. All current variants in our network carry acoustic laminated windscreens as standard, offering noise reduction alongside safety — a feature that distinguishes the Citan from basic LCV glass.

From the early 2020s onwards, Driver Assistance Package options began appearing on higher-spec Citans, introducing front windscreen-mounted cameras for lane-keeping and collision warning. This means newer variants may require static camera calibration after windscreen replacement — a specialist procedure that our network handles as part of the fitted service.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

No — only variants fitted with the Driver Assistance Package. Earlier Citans without ADAS are straightforward non-calibration jobs. Our quote process identifies whether your specific variant has ADAS, so you'll know before booking whether calibration is required.

If calibration is needed, it's included in the quote and carried out by the fitter as part of the single-location job.

Acoustic glass is standard on all Citan variants in our catalogue — it's not an upgrade. All modern Citans carry laminated acoustic windscreens as part of the factory specification, so you'll always have noise reduction built in.

Yes — mobile fitting at your business address is the default. If ADAS calibration is needed, we'll arrange the full job (replacement + calibration) at a workshop to ensure proper completion. Either way, you choose the location that works best for your operation.

Non-ADAS Citans usually take 45–90 minutes of the fitter's time, depending on the vehicle's condition and any stubborn adhesive residue. ADAS-equipped variants take longer because static camera calibration is completed after the glass is set, though the minimum drive-away time is confirmed by the fitter before you leave — calibration runs in parallel with adhesive cure, so it doesn't extend how long you wait.
