Mercedes B Class windscreen price, by year

Prices vary with generation and ADAS equipment. Earlier B-Class models without cameras represent the most affordable option; newer variants with driver assistance systems and acoustic glass carry higher calibration costs. Acoustic interlayers, found on approximately 90% of current models, add complexity compared to standard laminated glass, whilst the presence of a camera bracket requires specialist handling during fitting.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

  1. 1

Complete a guided quote using our online widget — takes around a minute and identifies your exact variant through a simple quiz.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote and choose your fitting date and location (mobile visit to your address or workshop appointment, depending on your needs).

  3. 3

We match you with a specialist technician in your area who handles your booking.

  4. 4

On the day, your technician removes the damaged windscreen, fits the replacement glass to your factory specification, and completes any necessary calibration if your B-Class is equipped with driver assistance systems.

  5. 5

Your replacement comes with a two-year warranty covering workmanship and glass quality, backed by Trustpilot reviews from thousands of customers.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your B Class?

Most B-Class windscreen replacements can be arranged at your home or workplace as a mobile visit. However, if your model is equipped with a driver assistance camera, static calibration is required and typically performed at a workshop using precision target boards and diagnostic equipment.

UKCG applies a single-location policy: the entire job—replacement and calibration—is completed at one site to ensure safety-critical procedures aren't skipped. Your booking confirmation will confirm whether your variant needs workshop-based calibration.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

A single camera mounted near the rear-view mirror that helps with lane-keeping and collision avoidance.

    What it means

A mono camera is a single-lens camera positioned behind the windscreen, typically in the upper centre area near the rear-view mirror. It captures the road ahead and uses computer vision to detect lane markings, vehicles, and road hazards. The camera feeds data to driver-assistance systems such as lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning. It forms the visual foundation of these safety features, allowing the vehicle to monitor road position and surrounding traffic automatically.

    How to tell

Look in the black trim area above the windscreen, centred behind the rear-view mirror — you will see a small triangular lens assembly or dark lens cover. Check your vehicle handbook or ask your dealer's service department to confirm your model has lane-assistance or collision-warning features; vehicles with these systems almost always have a mono camera. Dashboard warning symbols related to lane or collision systems also indicate the presence of this camera.

    Replacement impact

When the windscreen is replaced, the camera bracket and lens assembly must be removed and carefully repositioned on the new glass. The camera may require calibration after fitting to ensure accurate road detection and lane recognition. Calibration needs vary by vehicle — we confirm the exact procedure when we look up your specific vehicle. The job may take longer than a standard windscreen replacement, and workshop facilities may be required if calibration demands a controlled environment.

  • Bracket For Safety Features6
    2011–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Mercedes B Class: fitted on 6 of the 24 windscreen variants we list (25%); model years 2011–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

The moulded trim that surrounds your camera and sensor cluster at the top of the windscreen, typically transferred or supplied with replacement glass.

    What it means

A bracket for safety features is the moulded plastic or composite shroud that sits at the top of the windscreen, framing and protecting the camera and sensor cluster mounted behind the rear-view mirror. This trim cover houses forward-facing driver-assistance cameras and sensors — equipment that monitors the road ahead for lane-keeping, collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and similar safety functions. The bracket itself is part of the vehicle's structural frame, but the trim cover you see is what protects and aesthetically integrates the technology into the windscreen area.

    How to tell

Look at the top centre of your windscreen, just above or around the rear-view mirror. If you see a dark moulded shroud or trim panel — often rectangular or tapered — with a visible lens or sensor window, your vehicle has a bracket for safety features. Your service history or handbook will list any ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technologies fitted. Ask your dealer or service centre if your vehicle has forward-facing cameras or sensors; if it does, you have a bracket for safety features.

    Replacement impact

On windscreen replacement, the trim cover is typically transferred from your old glass to the new one, or supplied pre-integrated with the replacement depending on the variant. This means minimal disruption to your safety system during the swap. However, if the bracket requires recalibration after glass replacement — which depends on your specific vehicle and camera type — the job may require static calibration (using a target board) or dynamic calibration (a road drive). We confirm the exact calibration procedure when we look up your vehicle.

  • Sensor Heated Zone6

Heated zones around sensors prevent frost and moisture buildup, helping your safety systems work reliably.

    What it means

A sensor heated zone is an electrical heating element integrated into or around camera, radar, or sensor mounts on the windscreen. Its purpose is to prevent frost, ice, condensation, and moisture accumulation on sensor lenses and housings. This keeps safety systems — such as lane-keeping assist, collision warning, and adaptive cruise control — functioning accurately in cold, wet, or foggy conditions. Without this heating, moisture or ice can obscure sensors and cause them to malfunction or deactivate.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook for mention of 'heated sensor zone' or 'sensor heating' in the windscreen or ADAS section. Look at the top edge of your windscreen where cameras or radar modules are mounted — you may see small heating elements or wiring near these components. Ask your dealership or service centre directly: they can confirm whether your specific model includes sensor heating as standard.

    Replacement impact

Windscreens with heated sensor zones require careful handling during replacement to preserve the heating element and its electrical connections. The heating circuit must be reconnected properly after the new glass is fitted. Depending on the vehicle, this may involve static or dynamic camera calibration after installation. We confirm the exact procedure — including any calibration needs — when we look up your vehicle details.

  • Static Camera Calibration Process6
    2011–2026Static calibration required

On the Mercedes B Class: fitted on 6 of the 24 windscreen variants we list (25%); model years 2011–2026; static calibration required.

    What it means

After windscreen replacement, your camera is recalibrated indoors using printed targets to ensure accurate ADAS function and safety.

    On your Mercedes B Class

Required on B-Class models equipped with driver assistance cameras; your technician confirms whether calibration is needed after the parts check.

  • TV Antenna6
    2018–2026

On the Mercedes B Class: fitted on 6 of the 24 windscreen variants we list (25%); model years 2018–2026.

A TV-reception aerial printed into the rear window, typically for in-car entertainment systems.

    What it means

A TV antenna is an aerial pattern laminated into the rear windscreen or rear side window to receive broadcast television signals. It's a separate system from the vehicle's radio or mobile antenna and is typically found in vehicles equipped with rear-seat entertainment systems. The antenna is printed directly onto or into the glass during manufacture, so when the glass is replaced, the antenna pattern must be reproduced on the replacement to maintain reception quality.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or handbook for rear-seat entertainment or TV tuner capability. If your car has a rear-seat entertainment system with a TV tuner, the rear window will have a TV antenna. You can also ask your dealer or service centre to confirm whether your vehicle has this feature.

    Replacement impact

When the rear window is replaced, the replacement glass must include the matching TV antenna print to preserve reception. OEM (original equipment manufacturer) glass is typically required to ensure the antenna pattern is identical. The antenna is passive and requires no calibration or specialist procedures after fitting. Cure time for bonded rear glass is required; the fitter will confirm the drive-away time on the day.

  • HUD - Head Up Display5
    2019–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Mercedes B Class: fitted on 5 of the 24 windscreen variants we list (21%); model years 2019–2026; no calibration after replacement.

A Head-Up Display projects your speed, navigation cues and key alerts onto the windscreen so you can read them without looking down.

    What it means

A Head-Up Display (HUD) projects driving information — speed, navigation cues, ADAS alerts — onto the windscreen in your line of sight, so you can read it without taking your eyes off the road. The projector is mounted in the dashboard and shines the image upwards onto a special HUD-compatible windscreen that uses a wedge-shaped laminate to prevent a ghost image. Common on premium and sports models, increasingly standard on mid-range cars from the 2020s onwards.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or handbook under 'display features' or 'HUD'. Look for a small projector unit mounted on the dashboard, typically below the steering wheel or in the instrument cluster area. When you start the vehicle, a bright image should appear on the lower windscreen area. Your dealer's service centre can confirm whether your specific model and trim level includes a HUD.

    Replacement impact

Your replacement windscreen needs to be HUD-compatible — built with the correct wedge laminate so the projected image stays sharp and double-free. Once the HUD-compatible glass is fitted, the projector itself typically doesn't need recalibration: image position is user-adjustable via your dashboard controls. We confirm your vehicle uses the HUD-compatible windscreen variant when ordering, so the replacement matches the original.

  • Stereo Camera4
    2018–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Mercedes B Class: fitted on 4 of the 24 windscreen variants we list (17%); model years 2018–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

Dual cameras mounted near the rear-view mirror provide advanced driver-assistance features like collision avoidance and lane-keeping.

    What it means

A stereo camera is a pair of cameras mounted in the upper windscreen area, typically embedded in or near the rear-view mirror housing. These cameras work together to capture depth information, allowing the vehicle's safety and driver-assistance systems to detect obstacles, measure distances, recognise lane markings, and monitor road signs. Stereo cameras are central to modern collision-avoidance, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and pedestrian-detection systems. Unlike single cameras, the dual-lens setup provides three-dimensional awareness, enabling more accurate decision-making by the vehicle's control modules.

    How to tell

Look in the dark area of the windscreen near the top, directly above or slightly offset from the rear-view mirror. You will see two small lens housings — typically circular or oval — separated by a small gap. Some vehicles display a camera symbol on the dashboard or in the instrument cluster when the system is active. Your vehicle's handbook or service centre can confirm the presence and type of camera system if you're uncertain.

    Replacement impact

Stereo cameras are bracket-mounted to the windscreen frame and require careful removal and reinstallation during replacement. The camera alignment is critical for safe operation — even small deviations can impair collision detection and lane-keeping accuracy. After windscreen replacement, your vehicle's camera system may require static or dynamic calibration depending on the specific make and model. We confirm the exact calibration procedure and schedule when we look up your vehicle. Calibration ensures the dual lenses are precisely aligned and the depth-sensing algorithms function correctly.

  • Solar Control2
    2004–2012

On the Mercedes B Class: fitted on 2 of the 24 windscreen variants we list (8%); model years 2004–2012.

Solar control glass absorbs infrared rays to reduce heat and improve cabin comfort.

    What it means

Solar control is a coating applied to the windscreen that absorbs the sun's infrared radiation rather than allowing it to pass through into the cabin. This reduces solar heat gain, helping to keep the interior cooler and more comfortable, particularly in warm weather or direct sunlight. The coating is transparent to visible light, so it doesn't darken the windscreen or affect visibility. It's a passive thermal management feature that works continuously whenever the sun is shining on the glass.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's specification sheet or contact your dealership service centre to confirm whether solar control glass is fitted. Some manufacturers list it as 'solar control windscreen', 'heat-reflective glass', or 'thermal management glass'. It's a factory-fitted feature and won't be visibly obvious from outside the car — the coating is integral to the glass itself.

    Replacement impact

Solar control glass is a factory-fitted specification. When replacing the windscreen, a solar control variant must be sourced to match the original. This is a standard glass type with no special fitting implications or calibration requirements. Cure and drive-away times follow normal windscreen bonding procedures. Confirm with your fitter that the replacement glass includes solar control to maintain the original thermal performance.

  • Blue Sun Strip1
    2004–2012

On the Mercedes B Class: fitted on 1 of the 24 windscreen variants we list (4%); model years 2004–2012.

A blue-tinted gradient band across the top of your windscreen that reduces glare without affecting your view of the road.

    What it means

A blue sun strip is a tinted gradient band built into the upper edge of your windscreen's laminate layer. It reduces glare from sunlight reflecting off the road and bonnet without darkening your main field of vision. The tint is created during manufacture as part of the glass laminate itself — it cannot be added or removed later. Sun strips are a windscreen-only feature; rear and side windows cannot carry this effect because they use tempered rather than laminated glass.

    How to tell

Look at the top of your windscreen from inside the car — you'll see a distinct blue-tinted band running horizontally across the upper portion. Check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your windscreen is listed as a 'blue sun strip' or 'tinted sun strip' variant. Your invoice or parts manual will confirm it.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen with a blue sun strip, the replacement must be the sun-strip variant — a standard plain windscreen will not replicate the tinted band. Your replacement glass is sourced as an exact match to your original specification. There are no additional calibration or cure implications beyond a standard windscreen replacement. Fitting and drive-away times remain unchanged.

About the Mercedes B Class

The Mercedes B-Class has evolved through multiple generations since its introduction, with windscreen technology advancing significantly across the model line. Earlier variants carry straightforward laminated windscreens with rain sensors and VIN notches, whilst newer generations increasingly feature acoustic interlayers and advanced sensor systems.

From approximately 2022 onwards, higher-specification B-Class models began incorporating front-mounted cameras as part of Mercedes' Driver Assistance Package, requiring static calibration after windscreen replacement. This evolution means your exact model's glass specification — and the fitting process involved — depends on its generation and trim level.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

Only if your model is equipped with a front-mounted camera for driver assistance systems—typically found on newer B-Class variants from 2022 onwards. Earlier models without cameras don't require calibration.

When calibration is needed, it's performed indoors at a workshop using specialised Mercedes diagnostic equipment. The process doesn't extend your drive-away time, as it runs in parallel with adhesive cure.

Acoustic glass is standard or widely available across the B-Class range and simply means your replacement windscreen includes a noise-reducing interlayer. Your technician handles it identically to standard glass—no extra steps or complications for you.

Your technician will confirm the exact drive-away time before leaving your car. This depends on the adhesive used and ambient conditions on the day. For B-Class models with cameras that require calibration, the calibration itself doesn't delay your drive-away—it happens alongside the adhesive cure.

Never drive off before the technician confirms it's safe to do so, as the polyurethane bond needs time to set properly.

Yes. Earlier B-Class generations have simpler windscreens without camera systems, making the fitting process straightforward and faster. Newer models with driver assistance packages include a camera bracket that requires careful handling and static calibration afterwards.

Your exact fit process is confirmed during the quote based on your specific variant year and trim.
