Land Rover Freelander windscreen price, by year

Prices vary across Freelander generations and trim options. Earlier models without heated or sensor-equipped glass are typically the most affordable to replace. Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your Freelander?

The Freelander was produced before widespread ADAS adoption, so most variants require only mobile fitting at your home or workplace — no calibration needed. All four active variants in our catalogue fit this profile, making mobile replacement the standard option for faster, more convenient service.

If you prefer a workshop visit for any reason, this can be arranged. Simply confirm your preference at checkout or with your matched technician before the appointment.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

About the Land Rover Freelander

The Land Rover Freelander was in production from 1997 to 2014, spanning two generations with distinctly different glass specifications. Earlier models carried straightforward laminated windscreens with minimal electronic integration, while later Freelanders from the mid-2000s onwards introduced green-tinted laminated glass and solar-control coatings to manage cabin heat.

From around 2008 onwards, certain Freelander variants gained heated windscreens and rain sensors as optional or standard features depending on trim and specification. These additions mean replacement glass must match your exact factory variant — a task our parts-check team handles after you book.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

No. The Freelander pre-dates the widespread integration of camera-based driver assistance systems. Even later models with heated windscreens and rain sensors do not carry front-facing ADAS cameras, so recalibration is not required.

The Freelander L314 (1997–2006) and L359 (2006–2014) differ in size and styling, but both use laminated windscreens with green tint and solar control. The main difference for replacement is that later L359 models may include heated windscreens or rain sensors depending on trim — features that don't affect the fitting process but do affect the glass specification.

Yes, your windscreen has a green tint as standard — approximately 90% of modern glass carries this subtle tint. Your replacement will match your original specification exactly, including any solar-control coating if fitted. This is confirmed during the parts check after you book.

Typically 45–90 minutes of the technician's time, depending on the vehicle's condition and complexity. Your fitter will confirm the minimum drive-away time before leaving — this varies depending on the adhesive used and weather conditions on the day.
