The Citroën C4 has been in continuous production since 2004, evolving through multiple generations with steady advances in glass and safety technology.
Earlier models carry straightforward laminated windscreens with VIN notches. From the early 2010s onwards, green-tinted glass became standard, and many C4 variants began featuring rain sensors for automatic wiper activation. Higher-spec trims introduced acoustic laminated glass, which reduces cabin noise through a specialised interlayer.
From around 2020, newer C4 models equipped with the Highway Driver Assist or Safety Pack Plus systems feature front-facing cameras integrated into the windscreen, requiring recalibration after replacement. Solar-control glass also appears on select premium variants, helping manage cabin temperature by absorbing infrared rays.
