Citroen C4 windscreen price, by year

Prices vary with generation and equipment level. Earlier C4 models without cameras are the most straightforward replacements. Newer variants with rain sensors, acoustic glass, or ADAS camera systems carry higher costs due to the added features and, in camera-equipped cars, the calibration procedures required after fitting.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

What to expect during your Citroen C4 windscreen replacement

Booking your Citroën C4 windscreen replacement through UK Car Glass takes just a couple of minutes.

  1. 1

Complete our quick online quiz to identify your exact variant — we'll confirm your car's windscreen specification during the parts check.

  2. 2

Select your preferred date and time for the appointment.

  3. 3

We match you with an approved technician in your area who specialises in Citroën glass.

  4. 4

Your fitter arrives at your home or workshop (depending on whether ADAS calibration is needed) and replaces the windscreen — typically 45–90 minutes of their time depending on your model.

  5. 5

If your C4 has a front camera system, the fitter completes the static recalibration process before confirming the car is ready to drive.

  6. 6

Your replacement is covered by our two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

From quote to fitting, the whole process is straightforward — supported by Trustpilot reviews and our commitment to matching you with trusted specialists.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your C4?

Most Citroën C4 windscreen replacements can be arranged at your home or workplace as a mobile visit. However, if your C4 is equipped with a front camera system for Highway Driver Assist or Safety Pack Plus (typically 2020 models onwards), the static recalibration process requires a workshop environment with proper target boards and calibration equipment.

When ADAS calibration is needed, the entire job — replacement and calibration — is completed at the workshop as one visit, ensuring the safety-critical camera alignment is properly verified before you drive away.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

  • Clear1
    2004–2010Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Citroen C4: fitted on 1 of the 10 windscreen variants we list (10%); model years 2004–2010; calibration varies by vehicle.

Clear windscreen glass has no tint; most cars have a slight tint as standard.

    What it means

A clear windscreen contains no added tint layer. Most modern windscreens incorporate a subtle tint (typically blue, green, grey or bronze) as standard to reduce glare, provide UV protection, and improve cabin comfort. A genuinely clear windscreen is the absence of this tint. Clear glass is less common than tinted variants and is sometimes specified for aesthetic or operational reasons, though the tint difference is usually imperceptible to the naked eye.

    How to tell

Lower your side window halfway and hold a white piece of paper behind it. If you see a noticeable colour cast (blue, green, grey or bronze) in the side glass, your windscreen has the same tint. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre to confirm the windscreen specification in your service records.

    Replacement impact

Clear windscreen replacement uses the same installation process as any other windscreen. No special calibration or extended cure time applies. Sourcing is straightforward — clear glass is widely available as an aftermarket replacement. Installation time and drive-away restrictions follow standard windscreen replacement timings. If your vehicle has ADAS features (forward-facing camera or radar), calibration may be required after replacement depending on your specific vehicle; we confirm this when we look up your car details.

  • Coating1
    2004–2010

On the Citroen C4: fitted on 1 of the 10 windscreen variants we list (10%); model years 2004–2010.

Coated windscreens have a blue or purple tint and protect your car from UV rays and heat.

    What it means

A coated windscreen has a special protective layer applied to the glass that appears as a blue or purple tint and often reflects a silvery-blue colour in bright sunlight. This coating is designed to reduce the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation and solar heat that enters the vehicle, helping to keep the interior cooler and protecting upholstery and dashboard components from UV damage and fading. The coating is integral to the glass and doesn't require any special maintenance from you.

    How to tell

Look at your windscreen in bright daylight — a coated windscreen will show a distinct blue or purple tint and a silvery-blue reflection when the sun hits it directly. Check your vehicle's service booklet or window sticker (usually on the driver's door jamb), which may list the glass specification. Alternatively, ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your windscreen carries a UV or heat-rejection coating.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a coated windscreen, the replacement glass must match the original specification — including the coating type and tint level — to maintain the same UV and heat protection and to preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Original-equipment or equivalent aftermarket coated glass is sourced to specification. The coating is applied during glass manufacture; no post-fit treatment is required. Fitting and cure times are unaffected by the presence of the coating.

  • Defogging Detector1
    2024–2026

On the Citroen C4: fitted on 1 of the 10 windscreen variants we list (10%); model years 2024–2026.

A defogging detector automatically clears condensation from your windscreen, improving visibility in damp conditions.

    What it means

A defogging detector is a sensor that monitors moisture levels on the windscreen and triggers the demister system automatically when condensation builds up. It improves driver visibility and safety in damp or cold weather by preventing manual intervention. The sensor typically sits near the rear-view mirror, positioned to sense moisture accumulation on the glass surface.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or ask your dealer's service centre whether your model includes an automatic defogging or moisture-sensing demister. Look near the rear-view mirror for a small sensor unit. Some vehicles display an indicator light or message on the dashboard when the system is active.

    Replacement impact

The defogging detector does not affect windscreen replacement or require recalibration after fitting. The sensor itself remains in place and continues to function once the new windscreen is installed. No additional calibration, cure time, or specialist procedures are needed.

  • Light Sensor1
    2010–2018

On the Citroen C4: fitted on 1 of the 10 windscreen variants we list (10%); model years 2010–2018.

Light sensors automatically turn your headlights on at dusk or in tunnels; the replacement windscreen must include the sensor bracket.

    What it means

A light sensor is a small optical detector mounted on the windscreen or dashboard that monitors ambient light levels. When light drops below a threshold—at dusk or when entering a tunnel—it triggers your headlights to switch on automatically. This removes the need to manually operate the lights and improves safety by ensuring visibility when conditions darken suddenly. The sensor is typically mounted behind the windscreen's top edge or integrated into the interior mirror housing, where it has an unobstructed view of the sky.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook or ask your dealer whether your car has automatic headlight control or 'auto lights' as a feature. If equipped, you'll see a symbol on the stalk or dashboard dial marked with a light-bulb icon or 'AUTO' setting. When you select this mode and the ambient light dims, the headlights activate without manual input. Not all cars have this feature; it's typically found on newer or higher-specification models.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a windscreen on a vehicle with a light sensor, the replacement glass must include the correct sensor bracket or mounting point to preserve the auto-headlight function. The sensor itself does not require software calibration—it relies on physical positioning behind the windscreen's upper trim or within the mirror assembly. Ensuring the bracket is correctly installed during the fit is essential; if omitted, the auto-light feature will fail and cannot be restored without additional parts and labour.

About the Citroen C4

The Citroën C4 has been in continuous production since 2004, evolving through multiple generations with steady advances in glass and safety technology.

Earlier models carry straightforward laminated windscreens with VIN notches. From the early 2010s onwards, green-tinted glass became standard, and many C4 variants began featuring rain sensors for automatic wiper activation. Higher-spec trims introduced acoustic laminated glass, which reduces cabin noise through a specialised interlayer.

From around 2020, newer C4 models equipped with the Highway Driver Assist or Safety Pack Plus systems feature front-facing cameras integrated into the windscreen, requiring recalibration after replacement. Solar-control glass also appears on select premium variants, helping manage cabin temperature by absorbing infrared rays.
