BYD introduced its DiPilot ADAS branding in April 2020, debuting on the BYD Han, marking the beginning of front-camera-based driver assistance across its modern lineup. From 2021 onwards, models built on e-Platform 3.0 — including the Atto 3, Seal, and Dolphin — came equipped with ADAS as standard, requiring a front-facing camera mounted at or near the windscreen. In early 2025, BYD announced its 'God's Eye' intelligent driving system would be rolled out across 21 models in its entire lineup at no additional cost, further cementing camera-based ADAS as universal across all BYD vehicles from that point.

BYD vehicles equipped with DiPilot or God's Eye ADAS rely on a front-facing camera typically positioned at or near the upper windscreen area; windscreen replacement on these vehicles will require ADAS recalibration. The Sealion 7 brochure confirms ADAS as a standard safety suite utilising advanced sensors, implying mandatory recalibration after windscreen replacement on that model. The BYD Seal windscreen is specifically noted as having a 'glued moulding' variant, which is a fitment distinction relevant to replacement.
