Audi A7 windscreen price, by year

Prices vary primarily by generation and ADAS equipment. Earlier C7-generation models without cameras are typically the most affordable. Mid-generation variants (2016–2018) with emerging camera systems cost more, and current-generation A7s with full ADAS packages and calibration requirements command higher fitted prices due to the additional workshop-based calibration work.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

  2. 2

Receive an instant quote with your personalised specification.

  3. 3

Complete your booking and choose your fitting location — mobile at home or at a local workshop.

  4. 4

Our parts check team verifies your glass specification matches your vehicle's factory configuration.

  5. 5

A technician from our network is matched to your job and confirms the fitting date.

  6. 6

On fitting day, the technician replaces your windscreen and — if your A7 has a camera system — carries out static calibration at the workshop. Drive-away time is confirmed before you leave.

  7. 7

Your replacement is covered by a two-year warranty on workmanship and glass quality.

Most A7 jobs complete within a couple of hours, and you'll be back on the road the same day.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your A7?

Most A7 windscreen replacements can be fitted mobile at your home or workplace. However, if your A7 has a front-facing camera and driver assistance system (83% of our A7 variants do), static camera calibration is required after the glass is bonded, and this must be done indoors at a workshop using diagnostic equipment and target boards.

When calibration is needed, the entire job — replacement and calibration — is scheduled at the workshop. We don't split the job across locations, as this ensures your ADAS systems are properly aligned before you drive away. Your technician will confirm the workshop location at booking.

We confirm the specific answer for your vehicle when you book.

What features does your A7 have?

A printed VIN reference box along the bottom edge of your windscreen helps identify your vehicle's chassis number at a glance.

    What it means

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) notch is a small printed or etched box positioned along the lower edge of the windscreen that displays your vehicle's chassis number. This reference marking is a manufacturing and administrative feature, allowing quick visual identification of the vehicle without needing to consult documents. It's particularly useful for service records, insurance claims, and vehicle registration purposes. The notch itself doesn't affect the structural integrity or safety performance of the glass.

    How to tell

Look along the bottom edge of your windscreen — typically in one of the lower corners — for a small rectangular box containing printed digits or characters. If you're uncertain, check your vehicle's service handbook or ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your model includes this feature.

    Replacement impact

When your windscreen is replaced, the new glass will retain the VIN notch printed or etched by the manufacturer. This is a standard feature on replacement windscreens for compatible vehicles and requires no additional work or adjustment. The notch does not affect glass fitting, cure time, or any post-replacement calibration procedures.

On the Audi A7: fitted on 10 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (77%); model years 2011–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

A single camera mounted near the rear-view mirror that helps with lane-keeping and collision avoidance.

    What it means

A mono camera is a single-lens camera positioned behind the windscreen, typically in the upper centre area near the rear-view mirror. It captures the road ahead and uses computer vision to detect lane markings, vehicles, and road hazards. The camera feeds data to driver-assistance systems such as lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning. It forms the visual foundation of these safety features, allowing the vehicle to monitor road position and surrounding traffic automatically.

    How to tell

Look in the black trim area above the windscreen, centred behind the rear-view mirror — you will see a small triangular lens assembly or dark lens cover. Check your vehicle handbook or ask your dealer's service department to confirm your model has lane-assistance or collision-warning features; vehicles with these systems almost always have a mono camera. Dashboard warning symbols related to lane or collision systems also indicate the presence of this camera.

    Replacement impact

When the windscreen is replaced, the camera bracket and lens assembly must be removed and carefully repositioned on the new glass. The camera may require calibration after fitting to ensure accurate road detection and lane recognition. Calibration needs vary by vehicle — we confirm the exact procedure when we look up your specific vehicle. The job may take longer than a standard windscreen replacement, and workshop facilities may be required if calibration demands a controlled environment.

  • Sensor Heated Zone10
    2011–2026Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Audi A7: fitted on 10 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (77%); model years 2011–2026; calibration varies by vehicle.

Heated zones around sensors prevent frost and moisture buildup, helping your safety systems work reliably.

    What it means

A sensor heated zone is an electrical heating element integrated into or around camera, radar, or sensor mounts on the windscreen. Its purpose is to prevent frost, ice, condensation, and moisture accumulation on sensor lenses and housings. This keeps safety systems — such as lane-keeping assist, collision warning, and adaptive cruise control — functioning accurately in cold, wet, or foggy conditions. Without this heating, moisture or ice can obscure sensors and cause them to malfunction or deactivate.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's handbook for mention of 'heated sensor zone' or 'sensor heating' in the windscreen or ADAS section. Look at the top edge of your windscreen where cameras or radar modules are mounted — you may see small heating elements or wiring near these components. Ask your dealership or service centre directly: they can confirm whether your specific model includes sensor heating as standard.

    Replacement impact

Windscreens with heated sensor zones require careful handling during replacement to preserve the heating element and its electrical connections. The heating circuit must be reconnected properly after the new glass is fitted. Depending on the vehicle, this may involve static or dynamic camera calibration after installation. We confirm the exact procedure — including any calibration needs — when we look up your vehicle details.

We confirm the exact procedure for your specific vehicle when you book.

  • Static Camera Calibration Process10
    2011–2026Static calibration required

On the Audi A7: fitted on 10 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (77%); model years 2011–2026; static calibration required.

    What it means

Indoor workshop calibration of the forward camera using target boards, required after windscreen replacement on ADAS-equipped A7s to maintain steering and braking safety systems.

    On your Audi A7

All camera-equipped A7 variants from 2016 onwards require calibration — your technician will handle this as part of the fitting process at a workshop.

  • Green9
    2011–2026

On the Audi A7: fitted on 9 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (69%); model years 2011–2026.

    What it means

A subtle green tint standard on most A7 windscreens, part of the factory glass specification — nearly invisible but important for colour-matching replacements.

    On your Audi A7

Most A7 variants carry green-tinted windscreens; your replacement will match this tint and your front side windows automatically, confirmed during the quote.

  • HUD - Head Up Display5
    2011–2026No calibration after replacement

On the Audi A7: fitted on 5 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (38%); model years 2011–2026; no calibration after replacement.

    What it means

Speedometer and navigation display projected onto the windscreen, available on selected A7 trims with technology packages.

    On your Audi A7

Fitted on higher-specification A7 models with premium tech packs — if your windscreen displays speed or route info, it has HUD capability that your replacement must match.

  • Coating4
    2011–2026

On the Audi A7: fitted on 4 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (31%); model years 2011–2026.

Coated windscreens have a blue or purple tint and protect your car from UV rays and heat.

    What it means

A coated windscreen has a special protective layer applied to the glass that appears as a blue or purple tint and often reflects a silvery-blue colour in bright sunlight. This coating is designed to reduce the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation and solar heat that enters the vehicle, helping to keep the interior cooler and protecting upholstery and dashboard components from UV damage and fading. The coating is integral to the glass and doesn't require any special maintenance from you.

    How to tell

Look at your windscreen in bright daylight — a coated windscreen will show a distinct blue or purple tint and a silvery-blue reflection when the sun hits it directly. Check your vehicle's service booklet or window sticker (usually on the driver's door jamb), which may list the glass specification. Alternatively, ask your dealership or service centre to confirm whether your windscreen carries a UV or heat-rejection coating.

    Replacement impact

When replacing a coated windscreen, the replacement glass must match the original specification — including the coating type and tint level — to maintain the same UV and heat protection and to preserve the vehicle's interior aesthetics. Original-equipment or equivalent aftermarket coated glass is sourced to specification. The coating is applied during glass manufacture; no post-fit treatment is required. Fitting and cure times are unaffected by the presence of the coating.

  • Clear2
    2011–2017Calibration varies by vehicle

On the Audi A7: fitted on 2 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (15%); model years 2011–2017; calibration varies by vehicle.

Clear windscreen glass has no tint; most cars have a slight tint as standard.

    What it means

A clear windscreen contains no added tint layer. Most modern windscreens incorporate a subtle tint (typically blue, green, grey or bronze) as standard to reduce glare, provide UV protection, and improve cabin comfort. A genuinely clear windscreen is the absence of this tint. Clear glass is less common than tinted variants and is sometimes specified for aesthetic or operational reasons, though the tint difference is usually imperceptible to the naked eye.

    How to tell

Lower your side window halfway and hold a white piece of paper behind it. If you see a noticeable colour cast (blue, green, grey or bronze) in the side glass, your windscreen has the same tint. You can also ask your vehicle's dealership or service centre to confirm the windscreen specification in your service records.

    Replacement impact

Clear windscreen replacement uses the same installation process as any other windscreen. No special calibration or extended cure time applies. Sourcing is straightforward — clear glass is widely available as an aftermarket replacement. Installation time and drive-away restrictions follow standard windscreen replacement timings. If your vehicle has ADAS features (forward-facing camera or radar), calibration may be required after replacement depending on your specific vehicle; we confirm this when we look up your car details.

  • Heated Coating2
    2018–2026

On the Audi A7: fitted on 2 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (15%); model years 2018–2026.

A transparent heating layer in the glass defrosts and defogs the windscreen evenly without visible wires.

    What it means

Heated coatings are a transparent conductive layer embedded within the laminated windscreen glass itself. Rather than using visible heating filaments, this coating distributes heat evenly across the entire surface when energised. The system defrosts and defogs the windscreen efficiently, typically faster than conventional filament designs, and operates at lower energy consumption. The coating is invisible to the driver and functions as part of the vehicle's climate control system.

    How to tell

Check your vehicle's windscreen for the absence of visible heating wires or grid lines. Ask your dealership or service centre whether your car has a coated (invisible) heating system rather than filament-based heating. You can also check your handbook under climate control or windscreen features.

    Replacement impact

Replacement glass must carry the same transparent conductive coating for the heating circuit to function. The coating is applied during manufacturing and cannot be added afterwards. Your replacement windscreen will be sourced as an OE (original equipment) or equivalent coated variant to ensure heating performance. No additional calibration or curing implications arise from the coating itself.

  • Heat Reflective2
    2018–2026

On the Audi A7: fitted on 2 of the 13 windscreen variants we list (15%); model years 2018–2026.

Heat-reflective tinting reduces solar gain and cabin temperature, often visible as a darker shade near the windscreen's top edge.

    What it means

Heat-reflective tinting is a specially formulated layer applied to the windscreen—usually concentrated in the upper band near the black dots (the frit)—designed to reflect solar radiation and reduce heat buildup inside the vehicle. This helps maintain cabin comfort, reduces air-conditioning load, and can protect interior materials from UV damage. The tint is typically darker or noticeably different in colour than the front side windows, which remain clear or lightly tinted.

    How to tell

Look at your windscreen from inside the vehicle and compare the tint colour to your front side windows. Heat-reflective windscreens often have a visibly darker or warmer tone, especially in the upper portion within 2 cm of the black-dot edge (the frit). You can also check your vehicle's specification sheet or ask your dealership service centre whether your model includes heat-reflective glazing.

    Replacement impact

Replacement windscreens with heat-reflective tinting must be sourced to the exact specification of your original glass—aftermarket equivalents are available but must match the tint density and reflective properties. The tinting is integral to the glass itself and cannot be applied afterwards. No calibration is required. The windscreen is bonded in place and cure time applies as standard.

About the Audi A7

The Audi A7 has been in continuous production since 2010, evolving through three generations of large executive fastbacks. From the original C7 through to the latest generation, the windscreen has remained a key structural component with progressive technology integration.

Earlier A7 models (2010–2017) carry straightforward laminated windscreens with acoustic interlayers and rain sensors as standard, plus a VIN notch along the lower edge. From around 2016 onwards, Audi began fitting front-facing cameras behind the windscreen to support driver assistance systems like Audi pre sense front and active lane assist.

Modern A7 variants from 2019 onwards feature camera brackets, heated sensor zones, and mono camera systems as standard on most trims. These ADAS-equipped models require static camera calibration after windscreen replacement, carried out at a workshop once the glass is bonded.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

The front camera supports critical safety systems like active lane assist, Audi pre sense front, and adaptive cruise control. Even tiny shifts in camera alignment after replacing the windscreen can affect these systems' performance and safety. Static calibration realigns the camera to manufacturer specs using diagnostic tools and printed targets at a workshop — it's a required procedure on all ADAS-equipped A7s.

No. When your A7 requires camera calibration, the entire job — windscreen replacement plus calibration — is done at a workshop. This ensures calibration is completed properly in a controlled environment and you can drive away with full confidence in your ADAS systems. We don't split the job across locations.

Yes, all A7 windscreens from 2010 onwards are fitted with acoustic laminated glass to reduce road noise. Your replacement will automatically match this specification — the technician confirms it as part of the parts check before fitting.

One of the twelve A7 variants in our catalogue does not have a front-facing camera and therefore does not require post-replacement calibration. If you're unsure whether your specific A7 has a camera, our booking quiz will confirm it, and our parts check team will verify the exact specification before fitting.
