Alfa Romeo 159 windscreen price, by year

Price variation depends on which generation and trim level your 159 carries. Early models with standard laminated glass are typically the most straightforward to source. Later variants with heated elements, rain sensors, solar-control coatings, or heat-absorbing interlayers involve more specialised glass specifications, which can affect availability and cost. Specialists on our network confirm the exact specification during the parts check and source accordingly.

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car

Had to replace the windscreen on our 18 year old car because it had become dangerous due to thousands of micro chips. The low winter sun made it impossible to see out of. Searching online found UK Car Glass. The price was reasonable and I made an online booking for 2 days later. Unfortunately due to storms a nice lady from the company phoned me and asked if we could postpone fitting for 2 days till the weather cleared which was no problem. The fitter turned up as promised and the job was done within half an hour. Overall a good experience. UK Car Glass appear to be a nationwide company who sub contract to existing windscreen fitting companies. In view of this it may be worthwhile directly contacting a local firm first to check their pricing as it's possible they may be a bit cheaper because their won't be a middleman. However, I've no complaints. Ease of booking, communication etc is excellent.

More professional than autoglass

Polite, prompt and efficient. Contacted Uk Car Glass and autoglass for quotes, autoglass were suppose to call with in a window and they didn’t, by the time they contacted me the job had been done.

Very happy with UK car glass

Very happy with UK car glass. They offered the lowest quote and an online booking service. After an initial confirmation email, I heard nothing further for a week, so I called to check that my car was still booked in for a new windscreen. I was informed that it was and they would be in touch to confirm the ETA. The team kept me informed over the weekend, the technician called and updated me again on the day, and arrived when he said he would. The screen was changed efficiently and the technician was polite and helpful. I would use the company again and recommend UK car glass to others.

Mobile fitting or workshop visit for your 159?

Most Alfa Romeo 159 windscreen replacements can be carried out at your home or workplace as a mobile visit. The 159 does not require ADAS calibration — it pre-dates the era when Alfa Romeo fitted camera-based driver assistance systems. This means your fitter can typically complete the job on-site without needing workshop equipment, and you can drive away once the adhesive has cured.

If you prefer a workshop environment or your location makes mobile access difficult, your fitter can arrange a workshop visit instead. The choice is yours at booking.

About the Alfa Romeo 159

The Alfa Romeo 159 was produced from 2005 to 2011, offering drivers a premium Italian saloon with sophisticated glass engineering across its model run. Early variants featured standard laminated windscreens, while later models introduced advanced features such as rain sensors, heated windscreen elements, and heat-absorbing PVB interlayers to enhance comfort and safety.

From the mid-2000s onwards, Alfa Romeo fitted grey sun strips on selected trims — a factory-applied tinted gradient band at the top of the windscreen that cuts glare from above. Solar-control glass also became available on higher-specification models, absorbing infrared rays to reduce cabin heat on warmer days. All replacement glass is matched to your factory specification, ensuring these features are preserved.

Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask us most often.

You don't need to know. Our online widget asks a few quick questions — make, model, year, and a couple of feature details — to narrow the variant down. Once booked, our parts check team verifies the exact specification against your VIN before the job is dispatched.

Almost always, yes, where a forward-facing camera is fitted. The technicians in our network include ADAS-calibration-certified specialists — we confirm whether your job needs a workshop or can complete on your driveway when we book.

Your replacement glass matches your original factory specification — same size, features and trim fitment as the glass the car left the factory with. It's UK-approved for the road and typically supplied by tier-1 manufacturers like Pilkington, Saint-Gobain, and AGC.

OEM-branded glass (with the vehicle-maker logo) is available on request at a higher price.

Most windscreen replacements happen at your chosen location — home, office, or car park. Some jobs are better suited to a workshop — for example, windscreens with ADAS cameras needing static calibration, or where access to power, shelter, or controlled conditions makes the work safer indoors. We let you know when we confirm your booking.

Most windscreen replacements take 45–90 minutes of the technician's time. ADAS calibration extends the technician's time on the job, but cure time runs in parallel — so it doesn't usually delay when you can drive. Your technician will confirm exact timings on the day.

Most UK comprehensive policies include glass cover, typically with an excess of £75–£100. If your insurer is on our approved list, the specialist you're matched with bills them directly and you just pay the excess.

Otherwise you can pay UK Car Glass directly and claim back from your insurer — our all-inclusive price is often lower than the excess anyway, so paying direct can work out cheaper.

Two years on workmanship defects — water leaks, wind noise, bonding failures — from the date of replacement. If the specialist's work isn't right, we arrange to put it right under the warranty process.

No. The Alfa Romeo 159 (2005–2011) predates the introduction of camera-based driver assistance systems on Alfa Romeo vehicles. Your windscreen replacement does not require any technical calibration, making the job straightforward and quick.

Early 2005–2007 models typically carried standard laminated windscreens. From around 2008 onwards, Alfa Romeo introduced features like rain sensors, heated windscreen elements, solar-control coatings, and heat-absorbing interlayers on selected trims. The exact specification depends on your trim level — our quote tool and parts check identify which variant you have.

No — you'll need to wait for the adhesive to cure before driving. Your fitter will confirm the specific drive-away time before they leave; this depends on the adhesive product used and the weather on the day. Typically you can expect a short wait — the fitter will give you a precise timeframe.

If your 159 is fitted with a grey sun strip, your replacement will match it. The sun strip is built into the PVB laminate at manufacture and cannot be added afterwards. Our specialists confirm whether your variant carries a sun strip during the parts check and source the correct glass.
